After yesterday's events, both Ash and Serena woke up with a grin plastered on their faces. It was a very enjoyable day for the two of them. The day also help Ash's mind get in the zone for the battle that is supposed to lie in the afternoon.

Right now, Serena is about to head off to the cafeteria for breakfast. She is slightly nervous about meeting Ash though.

We join her as she exits her room.

No one's POV

As soon as Serena exited her room, she heard  footsteps descending the set of stairs. She looked towards the stairs, and moments later, a small yellow rodent appeared and looked around. As soon as it saw her, it let out a cry of happiness.

"PIKA!!" squeaked Pikachu as it sprinted towards Serena and jumped into her arms.

"Good morning, Pikachu!" replied Serena gleefully while smiling down on him.

Another voice came from the direction of the stairs.

"Pikachu? Wait up!"

Serena looked towards the stairs. There lied Pikachu's trainer.

"Oh, hey, good morning, Serena!" he yelled happily.

"Oh, g-good morning, Ash." replied Serena in a shy manner.

Ash immediately caught onto it and decided to lighten up the atmosphere a little.

"Pikachu, how many time do I have to tell you not to run off like that?" Ash said to Pikachu while pretending to be angry at him.

Pikachu, being relatively young and innocent, thought Ash was being serious, so he jumped onto Ash's shoulder and started licking his cheeks and nose. This caused both Ash and Serena to giggle.

"Buddy, I could never be angry at you. You know that!" said Ash as he lifted Pikachu above his head and smiled up at him.

"Chaaaaa~" cooed Pikachu happily at his trainer's actions.

Ash then turned his attention back to Serena.

"So, let's head for breakfast. I'm starving!" exclaimed Ash happily as he started walking towards the elevators.

"Alright, let's go!" replied Serena with a fist pump.

Ash chuckled at that action.

As they were walking towards the cafeteria, Ash decided to bring up yesterday's main event.

"S-Serena... about yesterday night..." he started.

As soon as Ash said that, Serena blushed immensely and gulped. She knew that it was coming sooner or later... but that didn't mean she was ready. She had acquired Ash's habit of doing things before thinking.

Ash took Serena's silence as a cue to continue.

"I want to talk about it after school today... if that's OK with you?" asked Ash.

Serena mentally sighed a breath of relief. It gave her time to think about what she would say to Ash. She knew that there was no turning back... she had to confess... now. It felt like the right time to do so anyways. They had grown so close to each other since the beginning of the year. She knew that she would be happy with Ash. She would be loved... but she was still unsure about how Ash felt about her. There was still that little voice in the back of her mind that was making her doubt herself... but she knew that she had to take this chance. If she misses it, someone else will definitely make Ash theirs... and Serena couldn't bear the thought of that.

Serena smiled up at Ash and then replied.

"Yeah, I would like that Ash."

"So... are you ready for the match today?" asked Serena.

"Yeah, I definitely am. No doubt, my Pokemon and I are going to win!" exclaimed Ash with a fist pump. It was clear that he was brimming with confidence.

Serena giggled and the continued speaking.

"You do have all your Pokemon with you... don't you?" she asked.

Serena knew that Ash could be quite forgetful, so she had to make sure that he was actually ready.

"Well..." Ash started nervously.

Serena squinted her eyes at Ash and then started speaking.

"Well... what?" she asked sternly.

"I have 2/3 of my team. I have Pikachu, Sceptile, Charizard, Greninja with me... but I decided to let Cosmog and Wishiwashi come along with me today. They don't get to come out too often... so I thought I would treat them." replied Ash with a grin.

Serena had already met all of Ash's Pokemon during training, including Cosmog and Wishiwashi. Ash had caught them in Alola just before he left for Kanto.

"I see... but you aren't using them in the match are you?" asked Serena worriedly.

Serena believed in all of Ash's Pokemon, however, Cosmog and Wishiwashi aren't known to be strong. In fact, they were some of the weakest Pokemon Serena has ever seen.

Ash chuckled.

"Oh, no, not yet. I don't think they are ready. Cosmog can't use any damage dealing moves and, Wishiwashi can't use it's school-form here in Kalos... mostly because there are no other Wishiwashis around." he replied.

Serena nodded.

Soon, they arrived at the cafeteria. Everybody bombarded Ash with questions about his strategy against Calem. Ash kept everything a secret. He wanted to show how much stronger he has gotten since the begging of the year.

On the other side of the school, a certain blue-haired performer, who we all love to hate, was finalising her plans.

"... after that, he won't be able awake, so make sure you use Psychic on him, OK?" she instructed her Pokemon.

"Meow!" replied her Meowstic while nodding, showing that it understood.

Miette thought about the result of her little scheme and how it would separate Ash and Serena for good. She had been busy over the past week. Se wanted to move her locker but had to get Prof. Sycamore's 'OK'. She wanted a locker that was as close to the entrance of the battlefield as possible. After a lot of begging, Sycamore gave in and let her have a locker near the battlefield's entrance. With the help of her Meowstic, she knew that her plan was going to be flawless. All she needed to do now was wait till the end of school and make sure Serena is there when everything goes down.

With a smug grin, she walked towards the classroom.

The whole day went by pretty quickly. They still had to concentrate in class as the end of the year exams were getting closer by the day. However, right now, the most important think on almost everybody's minds was the battle between Ash and Calem.

Ash has gotten stronger, however, so has Calem. Over the past months, Calem has climbed up the ranks. In the beginning of the year, he was the first of the four Elite 4's of Kalos. Now, however, he is the final Elite 4. He is expected to beat Diantha and become the Kalos Champion within the next two years... that is unless an unknown, but insane, rookie trainer comes up from the Kalos League and becomes the champion.

Calem was feeling relatively confident about the battle. He now has now Pokemon with him that are incredibly strong. Much stronger than the ones he used against Ash in their first ever battle. He also has a very good idea of what Ash's best team is, however, he still has no idea how strong they are. Last time, Ash hadn't revealed his 6th Pokemon, nor had he shown the full strength of all his Pokemon. The only Pokemon that was nearing their maximum potential was his Sceptile. Calem knew that Ash still had a lot of tricks hidden up his sleeves... so he knew that he had to be extremely careful.

Right now, it is the end of school. Serena has had to go back to her room to get her box of Macarons. She also put the box Ash gave her yesterday in her bag. She had told Dawn about it earlier today and Dawn wanted to see it.

Calem has had to go back to his room to get his Key Stone. He never takes it to school. It was given to him by his dad and he always makes sure the he takes good care of it.

Serena exited her room. As soon as she did so, she heard a door open to her right. She looked at the direction to see Calem coming out of his room. Serena and Calem have become friends again over the year.

"Oh, hey Calem!" said Serena.

"H-Hi Serena!" replied Calem with a smile as they started walking out of their dorms and towards the battlefield.

"Why aren't you at the battlefield yet? Don't you always get there an hour before the match starts?" asked Serena.

It was true. Both Calem and Ash always got to the battlefield an hour before the start of the match. They got the habit because of their titles. Champions and Elite 4's always tend to reach their battle venues an hour before the matches actually start. It gave time time to get prepared and make sure that everything was ready for the match.

"Yeah, I just came here to get my Key Stone." replied Calem as he flashed his Key Stone at Serena.

"Alright, I see! So, are you on your way there right now?" asked Serena.

"Yeah, are you?" asked Calem.

"Yeah, I'm going there to give Ash these! With these, I'm sure Ash will win!" replied Serena gleefully as she showed Calem the box of Macarons.

Calem frowned at the sight.

'She cares about his... a lot. Am i doing the right thing by forcing them apart?' asked Calem to himself.

Calem then forced a smile and then continued.

"Don't count me out just yet!"

"Of course I wont. I will wish you Good Luck, but I have seen Ash train day-after-day and I know he can win this. I believe in Ash and his Pokemon!" she replied with a fist pump.

Calem chuckled.

'She is just like him.' he thought to himself.

Gradually, Calem has been beginning to feel quite uneasy about trying to win against Ash to get Serena for himself. He liked spending time with Serena, but it was clear that she liked spending time with Ash instead.

Serena and Calem started talking to each other as they made their way to the battlefield.

Ash, on the other hand, was already there. Being Ash, however, he managed to forget to forget that he had Cosmog and Wishiwashi with him right now. He only remembered when he released all his Pokemon to give them a pep-talk.

"Oh man. Return Cosmog and Wishiwashi!" she said as he held out their respective Pokeballs in front of them.

The two Pokemon were recalled into the balls.

"Guys, wait here. I'll quickly run over to my dorm and be back with the other two! If Serena comes, tell her I'll be back in no time, alright?" asked Ash as he left Pikachu, Charizard, Sceptile and Greninja in the trainers' room. All his Pokemon cried out in agreement.

Ash had his own one on his side of the field while Calem was supposed to have his own one in the other side of the field. Ash then started sprinting out of the battlefield.

Walking towards Ash's direction, however, was Miette. She was looking for Ash. She needed to find him as soon as possible. She was starting to panic as she couldn't find him. She knew that Serena would be there any moment now. Her friend, Ursula, told her that Serena would always go to Ash an hour before his matches start with a box of food. Looking at the clock, it was 4:05... meaning that either Serena was late, or she was already there.

"Oh, I hope she isn't there yet. I need to find Ash befo- OOMPH!"

Miette was cut off by someone running into her.

"HEY! WATCH WHERE YOU-... Oh, Hi Ash!" she squeaked happily.

"Oh, h-hey Miette..." replied Ash nervously. He has never been comfortable around Miette.

'Oh, this is perfect. I set out to find him, and he runs into me? Thank you, Arceus!' she thought to herself.

"Ash, you must be busy, but I really need your help right now." said Miette.

"W-Why don't you l-look for someone else's help? I really need to do something!" said Ash. It was clear that he was in a big hurry.

"But there's no one around here. Please help me Ashy-boo!" said Miette as she tried to pull off puppy-dog eyes.

Ash looked around, and sure enough, there was no one here. Everybody was either eating or getting ready for the match.

Ash sighed then replied.

"Fine... what's wrong?" asked Ash.

"Oh, I have some homework to do, but all my books are in my locker. The problem is, I can't open my locker." said Miette.

Ash took this as a challenge. He took pride in being able to do things others couldn't do.

"Alright, let's go to your locker!" said Ash.

Miette led Ash to her locker and showed it to him.

"Here's my locker Ash!" she said as she pointed to her locker. It was right next to the battlefield. It was also right on the way to the dorms.

As Ash tooked at her locker, she the sneakily let out her Meowstic.

"Umm... do you have the key?" asked Ash while pointing towards the locker.

"Oh, yeah." replied Miette as she handed him her locker key.

Ash inserted the key in her locker and was about to open it when...

"Now." Miette whispered to her Meowstic.

Meowstic then raised its ears and used Psychic on her locker, making sure it was forced shut. A blue aura surrounded the locker, however, Ash was too busy to notice it.

Ash began putting a lot of effort in trying to open the locker, however, it didn't even begin to budge.

While Ash was doing so, Miette released two more Pokemon. An Oddish and a Rattata. The Rattata ran to the other end of the hall and peering around the corner. Miette watched Rattata carefully as Ash kept trying to open her locker.

"Almost... There...!!" Ash said to himself as he kept pulling on the locker, which hadn't moved in inch.

Moments, Rattata's tail stood up. Miette took this as the signal.

"Oddish, now." whispered Miette as she moved back a little.

Oddish then released sleep powder on Ash.

As Ash kept pulling on the locker, he started feeling more and more sleepy. His heart rate was dropping and he was getting relaxed. Miette started smirking. It was working... or so she thought.

A bipedal frog in the battlefield had grown quite attached to Ash. Their bond was so strong that even without Bond Phenomenon, it could feel whatever Ash could. It was, of course, Ash's Greninja.

At that very moment, Greninja could feel Ash's heart rate dropping to below his resting heart rate. Greninja didn't take this as a threat though. He just assumed that Ash had got to his room, but plopped down on his bed and has started to fall asleep. He had no idea of what was going on in that hallway.

To make sure Ash wouldn't fall asleep, Greninja activated Ash-Greninja form. This way, the amount of adrenaline in Ash's body increased significantly, making sure Ash wouldn't fall asleep.

Back in the corridor, next to Miette's locker, Miette assumed that Ash had fallen asleep... however, thanks to Greninja, he was still awake.

"Now Meowstic!" she said. She didn't feel the need to whisper anymore.

Ash heard this. He was about to turn around, but noticed he couldn't. He also noticed that he was surrounded with a blue aura.

'Psychic!' he thought to himself.

"Hurry up, she's almost here!" said Miette to Meowstic.

Meowstic then used Psychic to move Ash's body to Miette, wrap his arms around his waist and then force his lips onto hers.

Right there, Ash was forced to kiss Miette.

Not a second later, Calem and Serena walked around the corner.

Calem was the first to notice something was definitely off. Just like Ash, he was a very good trainer, and that blue outline around Ash suggested one thing and one thing only, Psychic. He knew that Miette was cheating.

Calem started getting angry, very angry. He gritted his teeth at the sight in front of him.

Serena saw everything. She saw Ash's arms wrapped around Miette's waist and Miette's arms wrapped around Ash's neck. That's all she could see. That sight shattered Serena's heart into pieces. Tears started dripping down her cheeks.

"A-Ash?" she croaked loud enough for him to hear.

Ash heard her voice and his heart dropped. He wanted to push Miette away right now... buy her Meowstic was still using Psychic... he couldn't move his arms at all. Instead, he felt his arms tighten around Miette.

Serena saw his arms tighten and more tears started escaping her eyes. She was now angry.

'Why is he doing this? He kissed me yesterday. He's been so nice to me every single time we've done anything together. I was sure he liked me back! Then why?' she thought to herself.

With each passing moment, Serena's started feeling more and more depressed... until she couldn't take it anymore. She wiped her tears away.

Miette looked at Serena from the corner of her eyes and saw that she was with Calem.

'Even better!' she thought to herself as she signaled Meowstic to stop using Psychic.

As soon as Ash was free from the move, he turned to Serena.

Serena glared at Ash and turned to Calem and kissed him making sure Ash would see. This caught Calem off by surprise. He hadn't expected it. The kiss, however, held no feeling. It was hollow. For some reason, Calem felt... relieved?

Ash broke at the sight of that. He couldn't watch Serena with someone else again. After such a long time, he thought he finally had a chance with Serena... and this happened.

"Calem, I know you can win this!" said Serena as she grabbed Calem's hand and walked past Ash and Miette without even looking at either one of them. She forced a smile on her face as she walked past them.

Ash watched Serena as she completely ignored him. It hurt him even more. He couldn't believe what was happening.

'Are they back together again?' Ash thought to himself. He has been noticing Calem and Serena getting closer to each other during school.

Calem, however, was still in shock. He couldn't understand what exactly was going on. He knew, however, that whatever was going on was completely wrong. Seeing that broken look on Ash's face earlier didn't feel right to Calem. Ash has been a role model to him. He has been an example to follow. Ash has supported Calem and helped him to grow into the trainer he is today. He felt very guilty about this whole situation, even thought, technically, he hasn't done anything wrong yet.

Serena was still grabbing Calem's hand as they walked around another corner. Now, they were out of Ash's and Miette's sight. However, as they rounded that corner, both Calem and Serena froze.

Right in front of the two of them, lied a very broken Shauna with rivers of tears flowing down her cheeks. She looked at Calem and then at Serena and then at their interlocked hands. She finally looked up at Calem, sobbed even harder, shook her head and the ran away.

"Shauna!" yelled Calem as he watched her run away.

Serena immediately regretted her actions. Because of her, she might have ended someone else's relationship.

"Calem, I'm sor-" she started, however was immediately cut off by Calem.

Calem was staring towards the direction that Shauna ran in.

"Just go away..." he said, his voice ice cold.

Serena now started sobbing. She too started walking away from Calem.

At that moment, Calem realised something. Seeing that expression on Shauna's face felt painful. He experienced pain. He never wanted to see that broken, hurt expression on her face again. This was new to him. He wanted to set things right with her. He wanted to hug her, kiss her, tell her he was sorry. Tell her that this whole things is a misunderstanding.

Soon, he watched as Serena disappeared out of sight too. However, he was startled by someone yelling. Calem didn't pay any attention to it and started looking for Shauna. He had to set everything right with her first. She was him main priority at the moment. Knowing her past, he knew she was very fragile, and right now, he was very worried about her.

"What's wrong with you?!" yelled Ash at Miette while giving her a cold stare.

Miette was taken aback.

"Y-You were a-awake?" asked Miette.

She had only just now realised that Sleep Powder hadn't worked.

"Tell me. Why did you do that?" Ash asked in a voice full of venom while glaring at her.

Miette was now really scared. Ash has always been nice to her no matter what she has done to him. Seeing Ash like this now, made her feel uneasy.

"I-I just wanted to show you that I l-love you. More than she ever will." she replied.

"Love me? You don't know the first thing about love. If you loved me, you would have been able to see that I was truly happy with her. My happiness would have been your happiness and you would have left me alone." said Ash.

"YOU DON'T LOVE ME!" he yelled at her. Tears were threatening to escape his eyes, however, he held them back.

"How stupid do you have to be to try to pull off a stunt like that?!" asked Ash rhetorically.

"Miette, I have never said this to anyone. Congratulations on being the first one to hear this from me. So, when I say this, I say it from the bottom of my heart. I hate you! I don't want anything to do with you! I don't want to see you; I don't want to talk to you; I don't even want you around me anymore!" he started.

Miette now felt extremely hurt because of Ash's words. It dawned upon her now that she couldn't have Ash no matter what. Looking at Ash right now, she could see the pain. Although she couldn't feel happy when Ash was happy, she could feel pain when Ash was in pain... and this was one of those situations. Miette couldn't bear seeing Ash in pain.

"If she hadn't seen that, maybe, I still would have had a chance with her... but now, she thinks I'm dating the one who bullies her..." said Ash as he started walking away.

He turned around to face Miette one more time.

"Now, stay away from me and stay away from her." he commanded as he walked towards the battlefield... completely forgetting about what he initially set out to do.

Miette broke down on the floor. She regretted everything now. She realised that she got carried away. She knew she took it too far this time. She was unsure of what to do next. She didn't know how to handle this whole situation either, however, what she did know was that she wanted to see Ash happy again. She wanted the cheerful old Ash back...

In one day, because of one simple action, 5 people's hearts were broken. Some will be healed... while some won't...

End of Chapter 19.

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter... I don't think you did though.

No one enjoys a chapter where Amourshipping breaks.

The next couple of chapters will be quite difficult for Ash and Serena.

Next chapter will focus a little more on BrightTomorrowShipping. I need to slightly talk about Shauna's past.

It will all be relevant to the whole plot of the story.

Anyways, thank you so much for readings this.

I'll see you in the next chapter!
