It is now the final day of an eventful academic year for Ash. Right now, he is about to start his battle against Calem for the title of a Kalos Elite 4.

Ash won the very first battle they had while Calem won the second one. For this third battle, both sides wanted to do their best.

We rejoin the action as Calem's Chesnaught and Ash's Pikachu are about to go against each other.

No one's POV

"Alright, this battle will be between Chesnaught and Pikachu. Battle begin!" yelled the referee.

As soon as the referee said that, Ash glanced at Serena to find her smiling back at him. He knew that he had to win this battle for her. He knew that he had her support and that's exactly what he needed. Ash then looked back at the battlefield and started.

"Alright Pikachu, let's start things off with Volt Tackle!" commanded Ash.

"Pika!" replied the Pokemon as it started charging towards Chesnaught with a thick veil of electricity surrounding it.

Calem, however, was ready. He had been thinking about all the moves Pikachu had in its arsenal. He knew that Ash would start with Pikachu... he always does. That's why he chose Chesnaught. Calem knew that he could have chosen one of his other Pokemon, however, he knew Chesnaught was his best Pokemon. Chesnaught had been with Calem since it was just a tiny little Chespin. They worked together and grew together. Calem knew that him and Chesnaught had a very special bond... and that that bond would be very important if they were to stand a chance against Ash and Pikachu.

"Chesnaught, Wood Hammer!" yelled Calem.

Chesnaught grunted as a green, holographic log appeared on his arm. The Pokemon charged towards Pikachu while getting ready to swing the arm at it.

Ash's eyes immediately widened as he realised that this was the exact situation they were in during their previous battle. He knew both Pikachu and Chesnaught were going too fast to stop. He needed to think of a way to dodge it somehow... and that's when he remembered something he learnt during his time in Sinnoh.

"Pikachu, spin and dodge!" yelled Ash.

Pikachu understood exactly what Ash meant. Pikachu got as close to Chesnaught as possible, and as Chesnaught started swinging, Pikachu quickly span to the right thus dodging Chesnaught's attack.

This surprised both Chesnaught and Calem. This was something Ash had never shown before as he didn't see the need to use it. Chesnaught stopped in his tracks and turned around to face Pikachu.

After dodging, Pikachu quickly found his footing again turned around to face Chesnaught.

"Pikachu, use Thunder!" commanded Ash.

Pikachu immediately jumped into the air and shot a bolt of lightning into the air. Moments later, a much more powerful bolt of lightning shot back down from the heavens towards Chesnaught.

"Chesnaught, use Frenzy Plant to cover youself!" yelled Calem with panic evident in his voice.

The Thunder was speeding down. Chesnaught slammed his fists into the ground and giant vines shot out of the ground and started surrounding Chesnaught in a protective dome.

The Thunder finally landed, and as it hit the dome, it exploded causing both attacks to cancel each other out. Chesnaught stood there completely unharmed.

Ash gasped at the sight. It was a clever idea and it worked winders for Calem.

"Now, Earthquake!" instructed Calem.

Chesnaught wasted no time to summon seismic waves that started making their way towards Pikachu. From past experiences, Calem could guess what Ash was going to do next, however, to his and everybody else's surprise, Ash looked at his wrist, which had a Z-ring with a Pikanium Z and then he looked at Pikachu. They looked at each other then faced and started... dancing?

In the crowd, Mallow realised exactly what that dance was.

"He's going to use it?" she asked herself.

"Huh, use what? Another Z-move?" asked Paul.

"Yeah, but this one is a little... different." finished Mallow as she started at the battlefield.

Serena too had a good idea of what it was. Ash never used Z-moves during training as he thought that they were only reserved for proper battles.

Back on the battlefield, the waves were nearing Pikachu, however, just as they were about hit him, Pikachu jumped onto Ash who caught him. Ash then threw Pikachu high into the air. As soon as Pikachu reached maximum height, he started spinning extremely fast while being surrounded by electricity.

"Now Pikachu!!" yelled Ash.

Calem and Chesnaught watched in horror as Pikachu straightened out and bulleted towards Chesnaught. They didn't have time to dodge. Chesnaught stood there like a deer in headlights as he watched Pikachu close in on him.

Surely enough, seconds later, Pikachu made contact with Chesnaught and the resulting shock-wave caused a lot of dust to rise up. Moments later, a large bipedal humanoid Pokemon flew out of the dust and slammed into the wall behind Calem.

Calem turned around reluctantly as he had a had a very good idea of the state his Pokemon was in. Once he looked at his Pokemon his suspicion came true. Chesnaught was laying on the floor with swirls for eyes.

"Chesnaught is unable to battle. Pikachu wins this battle. TRainers, please send out your next Pokemon!" yelled the referee.

"Return Chesnaught. You did a great job!" said Calem softly as he smiled down at its Pokeball.

"Come back buddy! You were great!" exclaimed Ash happily as Pikachu jumped onto Ash shoulder and nuzzled his cheeks.

Ash set Pikachu down on the floor and brought out his second Pokeball. Calem brought his second Pokemon's Pokeball too.

"Let's go!" yelled the trainers as they tossed their respective Pokeballs into the air.

On Calem's side, a humongous green, armoured, rock and dark type Pokemon with a silver belly materialised. Its spiky back and giant tail were features that could intimidate any Pokemon. To make matters worse, upon arrival, a sand storm suddenly appeared on the battlefield... mostly due to its ability, Sandstream.

On Ash's side, the beam from the Pokeball materialised into one of Ash's calmest Pokemon. The grass type, bipedal, forest Pokemon had a twig in its mouth as it stared at the behemoth in front of it.

Ash smiled as he realised that he had the type advantage in this battle.

"Alright, this battle will be between Tyranitar and Sceptile! Battle begin!" yelled the referee.

Ash had to be weary as Sceptile was being buffeted by Sandstorm. There was no way to make it subside so he knew that Sceptile would be constantly losing health throughout the battle. He knew that he had to make the battle quick.

"Sceptile, Leaf Balde!" commanded Ash.

"TILEEE!!" roared the grass type as it sped towards Tyranitar with two huge, green, glowing blades extending out of his forearms.

"Tyranitar, use Ice Beam!"

Tyranitar then positioned himself and set his sights firmly on Sceptile before releasing a beam of ice from its mouth.

Ash's eyes widened as he knew that if it was to make contact, it would severely hurt Sceptile. Ash had to think quickly... and he did. He remembered the battle he had with Clemont when he first arrived in Lumiose city.

"Sceptile, slam that Leaf Blade on the ground!" he commanded confidently.

Sceptile completely trusted Ash and didn't hesitate to execute Ash's order. He immediately slammed his blade onto the ground and that caused a dense cloud of rock and dust to rise up.

The Ice Beam hit the cloud of dust thus allowing Sceptile to evade it.

After that little scare, Ash decided that he needed to be a bit more careful now. He also knew that he had to end this battle quickly. Ash then looked at Sceptile who looked back at Ash with a smirk.

"Sceptile, Mega Evolve!!" Ash bellowed as he touched the Mega-Stone on his his wrist.

Ash and Sceptile were immediately surrounded by Mega Evolution energy. Moments later, the energy dissipated leaving a Mega Sceptile. Ash and Sceptile were feeling confident, however, they didn't know that Calem and Tyranitar had a trick up their sleeves too.

"Tyranitar, let's show them what we can do. Mega Evolve!!" yelled Calem.

Calem and Tyranitar were enveloped in Mega Evolution energy too. Moments later, a Mega Tyranitar stood there glaring at Ash's Sceptile.

"Tyranitar, Ice Beam!" commanded Calem.

Ash knew that this could get very bad. Ice Beam would be even more effective against Sceptile now that it had gained a Dragon typing. Ash took a page out of Calem's book and commanded Sceptile.

"Sceptile, use Frenzy Plant to cover yourself!" he instructed.

Sceptile obliged and slammed his fists onto the ground and think vines immediately formed a protective dome around the Pokemon. The Ice Beam hit the Frenzy Plant, however, all it did was freeze the vines.

"Now use Leaf Blade to get out of there!" said Ash.

The front of the dome immediately shattered as Sceptile emerged out of it and retracted the blades in his forearms.

"Tyranitar, use flamethrower!"

Ash knew that that's where Calem made the mistake.

"Sceptile, use Leaf Blade and cut right through it!" commanded Ash confidently.

Without any hesitation, Sceptile charged into the fire type attack and sliced right through it.

"Leaf Blade one more time!" yelled Ash. Excitement was clearly evident in his voice. Ash was enjoying this battle a lot.

"Dragon Claw!!" Calem yelled in panic, however, he was too slow as Tyranitar was already hit by the Leaf Blade.

Tyranitar stumbled back and was in a lot of pain, however, it composed itself immediately getting ready to attack.

"Frenzy Plant!!" yelled Ash.

"Blizzard!!" replied Calem.

Tyranitar summoned a bitter cold wind which consisted of flying shards of ice and directed it towards Sceptile.

Sceptile immediately threw his fists to the ground thus summoning huge vines on Tyranitar's side of the field.

Both moves made contact. Tyranitar was thrown around and rushed by the monstrous vines while Sceptile was battered by the Blizzard. Both Pokemon tried to fight it, however, succumbed due to fatigue.

Tyranitar was slammed into the ground multiple times which knocked it out cold, while Sceptile had been constantly losing health due to the Sandstorm and the Blizzard was enough to take him out of the battle. The two Pokemon than reverted back to normal selves and laid on the ground with swirly eyes.

The referee looked at the two fainted Pokemon on the battlefield before continuing to speak.

"Both Tyranitar and Sceptile are unable to battle. This means that the battle is a draw!" he started.

"Trainers, please send out your next Pokemon!" he instructed.

Both Ash and Calem returned their respective Pokemon while giving them words of praise.

Ash then looked over to Calem and started talking.

"This is kind of battle I wanted Calem! You have gotten so much stronger!" Ash shouted across the battlefield.

"Thanks Ash, but flattery will get you nowhere! I win't be holding back!" Calem replied with a confident smirk.

"I wouldn't want it any other way!" Ash replied while fist pumping.

Ash could feel Calem's change in character. During the very first battle, Calem was overcome with anger and rage. He wasn't thinking straight... and it ended up costing him the match. He didn't treat his Pokemon properly either. Back then, he wasn't a good trainer. Now, however, Calem was a completely different person. He had his own battling style were he would always try to stay in control of everything. He would treat his Pokemon properly and treat them with love and care.

Ash smiled as Calem carefully put Tyranitar's Pokeball away and brought out another one.

Ash did the same and brought out another Pokeball.

"Come one out!" yelled Ash.

"Go!!" bellowed Calem.

On Ash's side, a giant sleeping, blue and white, normal type Pokemon appeared. Moments later though, it woke up. Ash quickly swapped his Pikanium Z for a Snorlium Z getting ready for the battle.

On Calem's side of the field, a blue and black, Jackal like Pokemon matrialised. It had steel spikes protruding out of its chest and paws.

Watching the two Pokemon standing there reminded everybody of Ash's and Calem's first battle... where these two had faced each other.

"Alright, this battle will be between Snorlax and Lucario! Battle Begin!" shouted the referee.

Calem wasted no time. Him and Lucario had trained very hard to get stronger.

"Lucario, Auro Sphere!" yelled Calem.

Lucario immediately formed a blue sphere between his paws and fired it towards Snorlax.

Ash remained calm as the super effective move darted its way towards his Snorlax. He then commanded Snorlax.

"Dodge it by rolling!"

Snorlax immediately dropped to the ground and its relatively spherical body allowed it to roll around effortlessly, thus easily dodging Lucario's aura sphere. For Snorlax, this rolling method of dodging was a lot faster than using his feet.

Calem gritted his teeth in frustration. He watched on as Snorlax rolled around carelessly. Suddenly a thought came into his mind. All he needed to do was disrupt Snorlax's balance.

"Lucario, Earthquake!" he yelled.

Ash's eyes immediately widened. His mind raced thinking of something to counter it with, however, nothing came up. He was about to call an attach, however, stopped himself when he noticed that Snorlax was already hit by Earthquake.

It didn't do much damage, however, it was successful in knocking Snorlax off balance. Snorlax couldn't controll his rolling anymore and ended up crashing into a wall. Calem saw this as an opportunity and commanded Lucario.

"Lucario, get closer and then use Aura Sphere!!"

Lucario wasted no time as he sprinted towards Snorlax while charging up an Aura Sphere.

Ash knew that Snorlax was cornered. Now, all he could do was respond to Calem's attack with another attack.

"Giga Impact!!" Ash yelled.

Snorlax got up and started charging towards Lucario, however, Snorlax wasn't fast enough. Lucario reached Snorlax and released the Aura Sphere from almost point-blank range before Snorlax could fully charge up his Giga Impact.

Ash watched as Snorlax was thrown back. Ash could tell the Snorlax was struggling. Especially since he is at a type disadvantage. However, he could also tell that Calem had done a very good job at training his Lucario. It was noticeably faster and stronger than before.

As Ash looked at Snorlax, he could see that Snorlax was definitely struggling and was very low in health. Snorlax looked weak too so Ash didn't want to risk commencing another attack. He knew Snorlax could pass out in any moment... so he wasted no time in calling his next command.

"Snorlax, rest!" he instructed.

Snorlax immediately went to sleep and regained health.

Calem was about to make a call, however, Ash beat him to it.

"Now, use sleep talk!" commanded Ash.

Snorlax, who was still asleep, opened his mouth and started forming a ball of purple energy. It then shot out of his mouth.

'Damn it, why Hyper Beam?' he asked himself. He didn't want Hyper Beam as Snorlax wouldn't be able to attack, nor would he be able to defend on his next turn.

Calem watched as the Hyper Beam flew towards Lucario.

"Dodge it, Lucar-" he started, however, he cut himself off as he watched Lucario being pummeled by the move.

Lucario, however, stood back up. It wasn't an effective move against the part fighting type Pokemon. Calem looked at Ash and saw that he was, indeed, helpless. Snorlax was a sitting duck and Calem had one move that was going to be enough to end this battle.

"Lucario, use Low Kick!" he commanded.

Ash broke a cold sweat upon hearing that.

"Wake up Snorlax! Dodge it! Use Sleep Talk! Do Anything!!" yelled Ash trying to get to Snorlax, however, he knew Snorlax himself was helpless. He was still going to be asleep for one more turn and using Hyper Beam in his previous turn meant Snorlax couldn't use Sleep Talk this time.

Ash knew that it was inevitable, however, he still held on to hope. He watched as Lucario jammed his foot into Snorlax. Because of Snorlax's immense weight, the kick was much more powerful. It was super effective too. Snorlax immediately flew into the wall beside the battlefield and fell to the ground.

Ash looked out to Snorlax and his hear dropped when he saw that Snorlax was lying there with swirly eyes.

"Snorlax is unable to battle! Lucario is the winner! Trainers, please send out your next Pokemon!!" commanded the referee.

Calem patted Lucario's head and returned it.

Ash too looked at Snorlax who had now woken up. Snorlax looked away feeling upset that it lost, however, Ash walked up to Snorlax and gave him a warm smile.

"You did great Snorlax. It wasn't your fault." Ash said while looking at Snorlax.

"We'll get them next time!!" he yelled happily.

Ash's cheerful personality made Snorlax feel happy too. He immediately lunged at Ash giving Ash a big bear hug while lifting him off of his feet.

Ash couldn't help but laugh while everybody else watched on with a smile.

"Now, return Snorlax!" said Ash as Snorlax was sucked back into his Pokeball.

In the stands, Serena was still smiling as brightly as ever. Even though Ash and Calem were tied, Serena knew that there was now way Ash was going to lose. She watched on with a confident smile as she cheered Ash on.

She looked at Ash and saw that he had the same confident smile plastered on his face. She then noticed him turning his head to look at her. Ash gave her a wink and then turned back to the battlefield.

Even though they had been in a relationship for 2 months now, Serena couldn't help but blush at Ash actions. She then turned her attention back to the battlefield as Ash and Calem were about to release their next Pokemon.

"Let's go, Yveltal!" yelled Calem.

"Come on out, Charizard!!" shouted Ash simultaneously.

"Alright, this battle will be between Yveltal and Charizard. Battle begin!"

End of Chapter 28.

Well, I have decided to make this a 2-part match.

In the very first battle, I let Pikachu use Gigavolt Havoc without him knowing Thunderbolt... because I didn't know. Now that I do, I used Catastropika instead.

I have a Fluids lab tomorrow and I need to do some work on it today. That's why I am not able to write the next chapter today. I will definitely write it on Tuesday though. I hope you guys understand.

I hope you guys enjoyed the battle.

Next chapter will probably be the final chapter of this book.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!

I'll see you in the next one!
