"...sure about this, sir?" I asked Mr. Merlen worriedly.

He chuckled. "Now, Genesis. You are our best art student. I'm sure that you would love the perfection in architecture there. It is incredible, as I see by the pictures!"

"I mean, I thank thee for the opportunities that hath been presented before me, but of the stories I hath heard of that place-"

He immediately cut in with "No, Genesis. I assure you, everything there is quite all right. Also, think! You'll be like an ambassador! First person to travel to Primfield in over a decade!"

I had stayed over for my lunch break, to talk to Mr. Merlen. Teacher of the General Arts. I had remembered my mom's tales of Primfield, when she lived there, which made me uneasy about going. What if they remember my mother? What if I do something wrong? What if they kill me?

There were hundreds of rumors about Primfield. Rumors of death, oppression, misery. None of them are true, Genesis. None.

"Well..." I made up my mind in a split second, forcing myself to push all worrisome thoughts from my mind. "I thank thee. I will be ready for departure at the moment's notice."

"Good, I'm sure you'll love it."

A few weeks later...

I had an uneventful couple of weeks, awaiting the news of my transport to Primfield. Finally, on the fifth day of the second week, my mother asked me, "Are you sure you'd like to go?"

"Yes, mother. I want to see it all for myself."

She sighed, and her shoulders sagged. Her want of keeping me here in New Anglend was apparent. "Mr. Merlen awaits you outside."

I picked up my satchel, and raced out the door. On my way to Primfield! A sense of adventure rushed through me, followed by one of responsibility. I took a deep breath, and joined Mr. Merlen.

"Are you ready?"

I shrugged. "I hope so."
