I gave a copy of my report to Mister Hong before leaving the office. Since I haven't slept in more than twenty four hours I decided to sleep all day today, even though at this point it was the afternoon I still didn't care. I needed to sleep. I entered the staff room to see Kai laying on one of the beds and Kian laying on his chest ready to go to sleep

"MA~" Kian called as he spotted me, causing Kai to raise his head and look towards my direction

"Shhhh" I said, pressing my index finger to my lips as there was other staff sleeping. Kian patted to the tiny space available next to Kai. the bunk beds were a single size bed and Kai's large frame took over most of it so there was no way for me to be able to join them in bed

"Its okay I will sleep here" I said pointing at the empty bed next to them, but Kian didn't like the idea which meant he started crying immediately

"Kian quiet" Kai hissed at Kian but it was no use. I immediately sat on the bed that Kai and Kian were in

"Better?" I asked Kian, getting annoyed for almost waking up the whole hospital. Kian paused his crying and looked at me before shaking his head he pointed at the pillow indicating he wanted me to lay down

"Kian there is no space" I whispered "Its okay Im here don't wor-" I said but got cut off with Kian bursting out crying

"Fine," Kai groaned, rolling laying on his side making more room for me to lay down. I sighed, can't believe this situation right now. As soon as I lay down and my head hits the pillow Kian stops crying immediately. He looks around and makes sure both Kai and I are laying down. Once he is satisfied he lays down placing his head between Kai and I.

At this point both Kai and I are laying down on our side making us face each other while Kian was laying down in the middle between Kai and I. At first we laid there in silence, as I tried to make myself busy with stroking Kian's hair gently with my fingers.

"Why didn't you go back home? Im sure its uncomfortable to sleep here" I asked

"I was waiting for you to finish your meeting. I couldn't leave you behind" Kai said looking deeply into my eyes. I couldn't help but feel warmth travel to my face. Thankfully the room was dark thanks to the black out curtains.

"How was the meeting?" Kai asked

"Good, we managed to get somewhere with the case" I said "What about you? What happened to the parents of the newborn?"

"I talked to Doctor Park and he agreed. He talked to the parents over the phone to have them come to the hospital so hopefully it will be tomorrow morning" Kai said. I remembered this morning where Kai might have heard my mom and I's conversation. I took a deep breath before speaking

"Kai about this morning" I started the argument "I had with my mom, I'm not really sure what exactly you heard but-"

"It's okay" Kai whispered "you don't have to explain. I'm sorry, I shouldn't have eavesdropped on a personal conversation like the one you had with your mother."

"Aren't you curious?" I asked

"I am but I dont think I'm in the place to ask," Kai said, grabbing my hand that was stroking Kian's hair, pulling it towards his face before I felt his soft lips touch the centre of my palm, placing a gentle kiss. "You worked hard, go to sleep" he whispered looking into my eyes stealing my breath away by the way he was looking at me

With loving eyes

It was my first time having someone look at me with those eyes. If Kian wasn't between Kai and I, I would definitely lean over and kiss Kai right now. Kai laced his fingers through mine, warming my cold hands with his warm ones. He stroked the inside of my palm with his thumb, calming my nerves down. Making my whole body relax with his simple touch. Soon enough sleep took over me.

I woke up with a phone ringing. I opened my eyes to see that my head was placed on a hard chest. I looked down to see Kai's hand was placed on top of mine. I looked up to see him looking at me through his sleepy eyes. I tried to pull my hand away from his but he held on it

"Kai" I said in a warning tone "my phone" I grabbed my phone from my pocket to see Mister Hong calling.

"Hello?" I answered and tried to get up but Kai held me in place and snuggle into the crook of my neck as I felt him kiss my neck gently

"Where are you?" Mister Hong answered the phone. Well good morning to you too.

"In the hospital" I said

"Get ready and meet me in the parking lot. Bring a DNA testing kit with you" Mister Hong said and hang up the phone before I can say anything. I groaned and looked at my phone to see that it was the next day and it was six in the morning.

So early

"You are leaving already?" Kai whispered into my ears as he still snuggled his face into my neck and I nodded

"When will you be back?" Kai asked pulling away and looking down at me

"Not sure. Seems like Mister Hong wants me to take a DNA swab or something" I said. Kai leaned in placing his lips against mine, kissing me gently and slowly.

"I will miss you" Kai said against my mouth, making me smile. I placed a quick kiss on his lips before pushing him away. I knew if I stayed I would be late again

"I have to go" I said, getting up quickly as I heard Kai groan in annoyance. I left to get ready. I wore a random t shirt with jeans before grabbing my phone. I passed by the lab and took a DNA kit before rushing to the parking lot where I saw Mister Hong in his car in the driving seat with Jae in the passenger seat. Mister Hong peeked his head out of the window

"Get in" Mister Hong said

What the fuck is going on?

Whatever. I entered the car and sat in the back seat. Mister Hong didn't waste any time and started the car and drove away

"Enlighten me and explain what is happening," Jae said. I guess I'm not the only one who is confused.

"Yesterday directly after the meeting we released to the press that there  has been a body found in the drum and if there was anyone who had tips should call. We had an anonymous call where he knew about the barral and it was used in the factory to mix the dye and get it prepared to colour the plastic flowers. He said the owner of the factory is Mister Yang and he was having an affair with a hispanic woman who worked for him in his factory thirty years ago. So that's how they probably met and had contact"

Did he identify the woman? I asked

"No luck with the identity of the woman." Mister Hong said "We are going to the city to his house to question him, now that we have clear information that Mister Yang had direct contact with the victim"

I couldn't help but feel my stomach sink and my body heat up.

I'm not trying to enter the house of a man who killed the mother who was bearing his child. If he killed her, what would stop him from killing me? Nothing

"I mean I'm a pathologist I don't know why I need to be present in the questioning" I said trying to get out of this

"Listen, crime barely exists in Town compared to the City. Our team is small so we would appreciate any help that we can get. Plus we are planning on getting his DNA if he agrees since we don't have a court order" Mister Hong said. I sighed. I guess there is no getting out of this. I decided to take a nap for the next two hours until we arrived in the City. I wake up with Jae shaking me awake.

"Doctor Jeon?" Mister Hong called seeing if I am awake through the rear mirror

"Yes?" I replied, stretching my legs. I looked outside to be greeted with a white house that was two stories. It had a porch and a lawn in front of the house. Very friendly looking house.

Definitely would be knocking on their door for trick and treats for halloween. If I didn't know that there is a high possibility that one of them might be a murderer

"Jae and I will be questioning Mister Yang, you stay a few metres away but still in the same room. When I signal to you, it's your cue to ask him for a DNA swab" Mister Hong said. I nodded as we got out of the car and made our way to the front door. Jae and I stood behind Mister Hong who knocked on the door.

After few minutes a man opens the door. He is a tall man around seventies. The crown of his head is bald while the sides of his head had completely white hair. There are deep wrinkles around his eyes and on his forehead with deep smile lines. He is fairly slim and his back was slightly hinged over giving a bad posture. He wore a pale yellow t-shirt that was tucked into his white shorts. His cheek lifted as he gave us a smile deepening the wrinkles around his eyes

He looked like a happy and bright grandpa

"Hello, Im looking for Mister Yang Eun Jae" Mister Hong said

"Oh yes that's me. How can I help?" Mister Yang said smiling, showing off his white set of teeth.

No, there is no way.

He looks way too kind to be killing someone

"I'm Mister Hong, from the Town Police Department," Mister Hong said. I guess from our outfits we may look like normal civilians which is why Mister Yang greeted him with a bright smile. When Mister Hong showed him the police badge he seemed surprised.

"I see." Mister Yang simply said

"We were wondering if we can come in to ask you a few questions about the body that was found in the barral" Mister Hong said

"Sure come in" Mister Yang said opening the door wider for us to come in
