A/N: So it took me so looooooooong to update this book because apparently I'm editing the first book and now I already finished it after five months I think. Anyway, I'll be updating this every two weeks so just hang in there okay. 

 The Italic part of this chapter is part of the dream or flashback its either of the two - so please don't be confused. Thank you so much. Warning! This chapter is short, unlike the previous chapter :D but in the future I'll try to update longer. 

NATSU'S POV

I open my eyes when I feel the cold wind brushing softly on my skin but eventually gone - roaming my eyes around - I found out that Lucy is not on her bed; so I immediately get up and open the window only to find her there standing alone while watching the moon. I clear my throat to get her attention before I speak "You shouldn't be here alone." I say softly.

"Same with you. You shouldn't be here too," she said before turning her head to look on my face - our eyes meet and I can't read what's on her mind. "What are you doing here, Natsu?"

I shrug my shoulder as I lean over the railings but my eyes never leave her face "What are you doing here, too?" I answer her question with a question. "Tell me what's on your mind?" I say.

"I don't know if it's okay to tell you those things Natsu. Besides, it's just my..." she shook her head before she looks on me and smiles "it's nothing." this what I hate about her, she's trying to hide everything from herself. I clench my jaws before I held her hand tightly "N-Natsu?"

"You can trust me, Luce..." I say sadly "I don't know why I'm acting like this towards you when in fact I don't even know the whole you but Luce I want you to know that you can trust me." Lucy's eyes clouded with tears but she still manages to smile on me.

"I do trust you Natsu but I can't trust myself towards you. I guess that's both different things," she said softly before leaving me there alone. Why? Why your words pierce me so deeply?

My eyes can't find the exit - I tried to break every wall that I've seen just to get me out of this dark place. I clench my jaw and was about to move when I heard a familiar voice out of nowhere. "I can't, Natsu..." her voice is so soft but too broken as I listen to it.

I want to say something but I want to make sure about the owner of that voice. Finally, I saw the ending of the tunnel but my eyes got widen when I saw Lucy's on the ground as she held gently that woman on her arms "Baby, open your eyes. Please" she cries and my heart broke once again. Who's that girl? Why am I hurting like this?

Moments later, I saw a guy holding a sword running towards her "I won't let you live, Lucy Heartfilia" the guy shouted as he lifts his sword "Now you die!" No! Don't

"NO! DON'T" I shouted. My eyes roam around until I found her looking on me worriedly. "L-Lucy?" I breathe.

"I was actually going out the room to follow the others but you were shouting on your dream." her eyes look so concern "Are you alright?" I didn't say anything instead I pull her into my arms and hug her tightly - I instantly sigh with relief as soon I feel her body against mine "Na-Natsu?" she tries to push me.

"Don't" I beg which makes her stop "Please, lemme do this, Lucy." she didn't say or move so I buried my face on her neck letting myself drown on her scent.

I felt her hands gently patting my back "Everything will be alright. I'm here... I won't leave you." she whispers.

"Lucy?"

"Hmmm?"

I pull away and stare on her eyes "I will protect you. I will protect you so please don't leave my side. I-I need to make sure that you are here by my side throughout the mission. Can you? Can you stay with me?"

She stares on my face before she brushes her soft hand on my cheeks "Why are you acting like this towards me, Natsu?" she asks me. "You shouldn't care about me," she says but her eyes are telling me the opposite.

I shook my head as I clamp her hands over my cheeks trying to feel her soft skin on mine "I don't know... Luce... But I want you safe. I want you to stay with me...so, please! Don't leave me!" I whisper and without a word, I claim her lips.
