There are a lot of Dragon Ball fans who only watch Dragon Ball, but are trying to get into other anime. I wanted to make this list to help those fans. However, I won't give the generic recommendations like Naruto, One Piece, or Bleach. Instead, I'm gonna recommend the more unpopular anime.

(This is in no particular order)

1. One-Punch Man

(Yes, I know this is fairly popular, but there are a lot of people who won't watch or read this series because they think the premise is dumb.)

One-Punch Man is the story of a man named Saitama who trained himself to the point where he not only lost all of his hair and has defeated MOST of his enemies in one punch! Now, just by reading that first sentence, I bet you're thinking "Why would I wanna watch something like that?" Well, it's not the fact that Saitama can beat people in one punch that makes it a great Shonen anime and manga, but the fact the series as a whole breakdown every trope in the shonen genre that was made popular in Dragon Ball. It's a great comedy-action series that anyone will enjoy!

2. Saint Seiya

Saint Seiya is the story about a boy named Seiya who agrees to become a Saint of Athena in exchange that the current reincarnation of Athena uses her resources to find his long-lost sister. This series is often referred to as the "Boy version of Sailor Moon" and for good reason too. If you've ever watched Sailor Moon, you'd see some parallels. However, in comparison to Dragon Ball, the fights of this series are just as epic and the supporting cast around Seiya is superb! Each arc, Seiya, and friends rise up the ranks from Bronze Saints to God Saints fighting increasingly tougher enemies that range from a soon-to-be member of their team to the God of the Underworld himself, Hades. I'm sure any Dragon Ball fan would enjoy reading or watching this series!

3. Toriko

(For this series, in particular, I suggest that you read the manga)

Toriko is about a gourmet hunter named Toriko who is in search of the most tasteful foods in the world. This series sounds kinda bland, but let me tell you. In terms of action and plot, this series is VERY GOOD. Arguably better than Bleach. However, trust me when I say you will get EXTREMELY HUNGRY while reading this series. Toriko himself even has somewhat of a similar design to Goku. There's even a crossover between Toriko, Dragon Ball, and One Piece!

4. Hajime no Ippo

Hajime no Ippo is a story about a boy named Ippo Makunouchi, a prodigy boxer. At face value, most people ignore this series because they believe it's only about boxing. However, that is indeed not the case. Hajime no Ippo not only breaks down the sport of boxing but also the psychological aspect of it. Each match Ippo faces goes into two parts. Part one is dedicated building up the next opponent and their character. Part two is the match itself. This may feel a bit repetitive, but trust me, it's not. Although Ippo wins most of his matches, it's the ones he loses that really makes this series feel awesome. Not to mention the stellar animation. Each fight looks and feels more intense than most fights Dragon Ball has ever had.

5. My Hero Academia

My Hero Academia is the story about a boy named Izuku Midoriya born into an age in which 80% of the world has superpowers, but him. That is until he meets his favorite hero, All Might. All Might takes Izuku under his wing and grants Izuku his abilities. However, he has no control over the power whatsoever. This series is currently the second-most popular series in Shonen Jump and is rising fast. It may even past One Piece in a year or two!

I recommend all of these series to all Dragon Ball fans! Hope you liked the list and give feedback in the comments! Have a great day!
