It was a Friday and I was in fourth period. I was bored out of my mind so it was time to daydream. Harper and some of our other girlfriends were going to the football game tonight. Football season was great but you know what was even better? Basketball season. Only because I got to watch the love of my life run up and down the basketball courts looking sexy as hell. And that my friends was good daydream material.

Tonight's game theme was tie dye and Harper and I were going to wear the shirts we made 2 days ago. I was also going to wear bell bottoms to go with the look because um why not.

When the bell rang I got ready to go to lunch. I was starving and I made my way straight to the lunch line. It was chicken nugget day. A good freaking day.

Harper was already sitting down outside and once I reached her I threw my stuff down on the grass and sat down. Then I tore into those nuggets.

Harper was vegan and she only packed her own lunches. Today I noticed she was eating pasta. Lucky bitch.

Harper side eyed me as she watched me go ham on my food. "What the heck happened to you?"

I shrugged as I kept eating. "IDK man it's probably the hormones. You know... maybe I'm pregnant."

Harper snorted. "Charlotte that's anatomically impossible."

"You don't know what I've been up to man." I said with a smile.

"Charlotte, you don't do shit."

"Ahh or so you think." I responded.

"Shut up you Virg."

"Okay in 9 months when you're an aunt I'll remind you that I told you so."

"I'm telling your mom."

Even the thought of my mom hearing that made me freeze. My mom could be a very scary woman.

Harper snickered. "That's what I thought."

I flicked her off and leaned back against the tree.

Harper and our friends Margot and Elyse all decided to carpool to the game. Harper was driving and we were currently blasting One Direction at the highest level possible.

We pulled up to a Cane's and ordered food before the game. We went through the drive through and the person at the window ended up writing his number on one of the boxes.

We all thought it was hilarious because we didn't know who it was for.

At 7 we got back to our school and made our way to the bleachers. We were playing against the one other school in our district and the stadium was packed. The anticipation had our section on high alert. Margot was already cheering and things had just started.

All throughout the first quarter we were in the lead and the student section was going nuts. Then in the second quarter we started falling flat. The other team had caught up and there was only a 3 point difference between us and them.

During half time everyone was sitting in their seats but when the band came out Harper went nuts. The band launched into Don't Stop Believing and Harper stood up, swung her hips and sang along. Harper gave no shits about who she was in front of. If she wanted to do something she just would.

I was not one for big public displays but I wasn't going to leave my girl hanging. I hesitantly got up and stood on the bleachers to sing with her and slowly Margot and Elyse joined me. Once the nerves faded away I realized I was having a good time.

We were having so much fun I almost forgot we were behaving weirdly in public. And by then it didn't even matter because we set off a chain reaction. Everyone was singing with us. It just reminded me how easy a trend could start.

We ended up losing the game but we had fun so it was okay. We were gearing up to leave when I got a text. It was Jordan.

I liked your performance back there, it read.

I smiled at my phone. I'm glad. I did it all for you.

I got in the car and sat shotgun. Margot had aux and we were now listening to her throwback playlist. Life felt real good right about now. It felt like one of those moments that you knew you would miss as soon as it was over.

I got dropped off first because my house was the closest. I waved to my girls and blew kisses as I entered my house.

It was quiet upon my entry. My mom and dad were out and Carter was at a sleepover. Ollie trotted up to my feet. I crouched.

"Hi boy. Sorry for leaving you alone tonight," I said to him as I rubbed his belly.

He barked. I assumed it meant it's okay Charlotte I still love you and not I'll never forgive you, you sack of garbage. I wandered up the stairs and smiled at him lovingly.

Halfway up the stairs my phone buzzed in my back pocket. I pulled it out. It was Jordan.

Maybe next time you can perform it just for me, it read.

Upon reading it at first I smiled. Then I narrowed my eyes. I couldn't get a read on the tone over text. Did he mean it in a friendly haha way or was it more?

I puckered my lips. I could never tell with him and it was extremely frustrating.

I was still trying to get over him but God he was making it hard.
