Jessica Jung is just like any human out there on the streets. She struggles at earning money to meet ends, she has Monday blues and she hates how the social life is working right now. She has to find ways to earn more money to meet ends. She has to cracks her head to plan her spending in order for her to survive till her next pay day. She hates how the world is functioning right now. She blamed God for taking her parents away when she is just a child, not knowing anything regarding the world at first. She wasn’t given the choice to continue her studies, forcing her to drop out of school when she was only 16.

Jessica has forgotten what is pain, what is suffering, what is tiredness. The reason to it, she is going through it every day till the point she is numb to it. For 8 years, Jessica worked hard to support herself and frankly, she was surprised of her ability to do it. Sometimes, she hoped she would faint on a random street and die right away. Sometimes, she felt like running up to the top of a building and jumped down, ending her suffering once and for all.

Jessica Jung has no idea what makes her stay strong and continue her life.

Maybe, it is because the smiling angel that she saw everyday at the café she worked part time for the past 8 years. She knew she had fallen in love with her, but she knows she doesn’t fit her. She has no rights and no courage to love her. She couldn’t provide her anything at all. The smiling angel is still schooling and certainly has a brighter future than her. There’s no way for Jessica to be selfish and obstruct her bright future.

****

"Hello!" Jessica looked up from the dirty black road at the back alley behind the cafe.

She was caught in surprise. Standing in front of her, was the smiling angel that has stolen her heart without her permission.

“H – Hi…” She greeted back in awkwardness.

She is never good with people anyway.

The smiling angel bent her body forward a little; both her hands were at her back. She squints a little and soon, it turned into a frown.

For some unknown reasons, Jessica felt her heart sunk at the frown.

“You looked young.” She spoke up and tilted her head to a side, her dark brown orbs not leaving Jessica’s light brown ones.

“How old are you?” She asked and smiled brightly, eyes curving up prettily again.

Jessica felt butterflies in her stomach. “22.”

It came out soft, but she was able to catch it.

“You’re the same age as me!” She gasped and exclaimed.

Jessica saw surprised, sympathetic and fears in her eyes. She knew what does that mean. She has gotten the same look over the years when people questioned her age and felt pity at the situation she is in. she should be studying and not working her guts out now.

But man, sometimes humans have to face the reality that not everyone is as lucky as them. Life is never fair.

Jessica felt angry. She wanted to leave right now. She doesn’t want her to say the same things all over again like how the others do. She straightened her body and turned her body but a warm hand caught her skinny wrist.

“I’m Tiffany. What’s yours?”

“None of your business.” She spat out coldly with her back facing Tiffany.

“Why do you have so many jobs in a day?” Jessica snapped her head back at her sentence.

How does she know she has more than two jobs in a day?

“Are you in need of money? Why do you work at the café in morning, construction painter in the afternoon, part time petrol kiosk helper in the evening and then another part time worker in the night?” Her face is beautiful and full of curious, like a child.

“How do you know?” Jessica was confused; she felt goose bumps on her neck at how Tiffany was so familiar with her schedule.

Tiffany chose to ignore her question. “Do you have time for yourself or anyone else?”

“I don’t have to answer your questions.” Jessica snapped back and frowned at her.

“Can I be that someone that you make time for?” She asked shyly and Jessica could see the tint of pinkness on both her cheeks.

“What?” Jessica could not believe her ears.

“I like you. Can I be your girlfriend?” She repeated again and this time, she hid her face in embarrassment by looking down.

“You are crazy. I – I’m just a worker. I – I can’t give you anything.” Jessica had to state it bluntly to her. She doesn’t like to waste time.

“I don’t need anything. I only need you.” Before Jessica could react, a pair of warm lips crushed on her own.

****

It has been a year since they were dating. Jessica’s workload did not decrease. Instead she tried to take up more jobs. In a relationship, with another person always means another spending. Jessica does not like it when Tiffany is the one that pays for all their dates. Sometimes, Jessica blew her top, she would say hurtful words to Tiffany in hope that the younger girl will just leave her and find someone better than her. For the first few times, they ended up unhappily and they would lost contact for a few days until Tiffany came back. But since don’t know when, Tiffany found out the reason behind those hurting remarks from Jessica and she stayed on instead.

“Don’t try to chase me away with all these remarks. I see through you. I love you.” Tiffany told her with a hint of cheekiness and leaves Jessica speechless and angry with her own.

Life was sweet for them whenever they are together. Jessica felt like she has gotten the best deal of the world whenever they are beside each other, no matter how poor Jessica is, she knows that having Tiffany makes her the richest person in the world.

It doesn’t matter that Tiffany speaks loudly. It doesn’t matter that the girl is always in a mess. It doesn’t matter that Tiffany is easily jealous and possessive. It doesn’t matter that the girl couldn’t cook well. It doesn’t matter that Tiffany likes to disturb her with calls every few hours just to tell her that she’s bored or she loves her. It doesn’t matter that Tiffany likes pink and almost filled her small pathetic apartment with it.

Everything doesn’t matter as long as Jessica loves her, something that Jessica knew that she always will.

However, for everything present, it is bound to have opposites.

It matters to Jessica that Tiffany would speak softly when she is sleeping. It does matter when the girl clean up everything so that Jessica wouldn’t do the cleaning after a long hours of work. It does matter to Jessica when Tiffany showed her eye smile easily to other people. It does matter to Jessica that Tiffany hurt herself whenever she tries to cook better for Jessica. It does matter to her when the girl did not call her for more than five hours.

And it certainly does matter to Jessica that she could hardly afford the things that Tiffany loves whenever they went shopping together.

“Why did you take up another job?” Tiffany asked as she found out another set of uniform in the closet.

“I need more money.” Jessica replied her honestly.

“And why do you need more? You earn more than enough for us to live through.” Tiffany huffed and crossed her arms across her chest.

It’s true. Jessica’s hard work has been paid off for the past 8 years. She has been promoted to the senior manager in the café that she has been working and her current salary was about 2k per month. However, she knows that it’s not enough to provide the best for Tiffany and buy all the things she loves.

“Money is never enough Tiffany.” She closed her novel book and went under the covers, preparing for a short nap before reporting to her new job.

“We just have to be contented with what we have. Greedy is always the biggest sin of ruining a human.” Tiffany climbed up the bed and stared at the older girl.

“I want the best for you Tiffany. I want to give you a car, a big house and diamond rings that you like from your favorite jewel store. You don’t deserve to live with a beggar.”

“No! We are different! We are special. I don’t need fancy car, splendid house or diamond rings! We can get that one by one. I don’t want you to work so hard that you barely have time with me.” Tiffany whined and snuggled against Jessica.

“I still don’t understand why you choose me when you have a whole street of better income lovers queuing for you.” Jessica sighed and inhaled a lungful of Tiffany’s sweet odor.

“Because they are not you, because I believe in you. I always have the best meal with you no matter how simple it is and you know that no one deserve me better than you do.” Tiffany smiled brightly and gave a kiss on her cheek.

“There are a lot of people that deserve you better than me Tiff. You are lying to yourself. We, we won’t last long as long as I’m poor.” It is not that Jessica is pessimistic but the world has trained her to face reality earlier.

Down to the point – she doesn’t have the confidence in herself. She knows that Tiffany will leave her sooner or later because she is not able to satisfy her needs and wants. This is why she rather to be the one that hurts her first then being hurt in the end. She figured out that being hurt and left behind, watching the other back view leaving her hurts the most. She doesn’t want that. She knows her life will crumble down when that happens.

Tiffany did not reply directly. “Let’s just enjoy what we have now and don’t think so much.”

From that day onwards, Jessica knew what’s coming up for her.

****

The world has lied. She has lied. Everything was nothing but a lie because right now, Jessica is lying wide awake on her bed alone. The person that claimed she doesn’t need anything from her except love is absent.

Jessica still ended up being the one that looked at other people’s back view leaving. She still ended up being the one that was hurt in the end.

Jessica knew all along that one day, Tiffany will be tired and see their love as something inappropriate, something that will obstruct her bright future. It will eventually turn out to be something that interrupt them and break them apart. It will destroy whatever they had shared and it came true. Tiffany must have find Jessica a burden to her.

It is probably the reason that why the calls have decrease, their meal times were never delicious anymore. Tiffany has been quieter and her apartment is neater – only happened when Tiffany did not come to her house at all.

Jessica isn’t blind, she isn’t deaf and she certainly isn’t that stupid. She knew that Tiffany had a new Sun. Someone that will shine better in her life than Jessica and Jessica knew that all she is going to have will be lonely dark night now, for the moon in her life is fading away slowly.

Jessica is no longer living in poverty now. She is now the biggest shareholder of the café. The owner of it who has no children loves Jessica a lot that she decided to let Jessica take over the café when she passed away, which is no more than few months from now. Jessica was reluctant but she knew that the owner cherished her own café a lot and she saw the potential in Jessica to make it better, she accepted it but kept it a secret from Tiffany. She wanted to surprise her and that was why she has been spending more time doing research and working harder in the café. But she was unaware that another guy was hitting on Tiffany hard during her busy period.

The beautiful accessories that Tiffany had owned in her drawers and the frequent meal dates she had now made Jessica realized something was wrong. It wasn’t long before she realized that all the accessories were from the same guy which she had meal dates with.

****

“Who is he?” Jessica asked through gritted teeth.

“A friend.” Tiffany replied monotonously as she read her novel.

“A friend?"

"Yes. A friend."

"A friend that brings you on meal dates and gives you expensive accessories?!" Jessica shouted

“What is wrong with you? I told you he is just a friend!” Tiffany shouted back and Jessica cringed at the tone. She never loved this loudness from Tiffany.

She scoffed and smirked, “Accepting these expensive gifts and having meal dates everyday is more than what a friend should be already.”

“What do you mean?” Tiffany retorted back.

“I don’t need fancy cars, splendid house and diamond rings?” Jessica imitated Tiffany and scowled.

“Because I always have the most delicious meal when I’m with you?” She continued and gave a sad smile.

“Just admit that you are sick of poverty and want to lead a normal life whereby you could have delicious restaurant meals, ride in a fancy car, stay overnight in a splendid house and buy whatever rings you see right now. You said we are different and special? I don’t think so. You are just the same like anyone else. Materialistic.” Jessica spat out and Tiffany frowned hard at her sentence.

“Yes! You are right! I’m sick of having a poor girlfriend that could not afford a single thing for me. I’m sick of having convenient food and streets food for meals. I’m sick of having to walk whenever we date and I’m sick of having to live in this cramp, stinky and dark stupid apartment!” Tiffany roared back in anger and glared at Jessica.

It hurts. Badly.

Jessica could felt her tears, but she swallowed it down. She knew she was too harsh but spoken words are like water that is thrown out – it could not be retrieved back.

“Are you happy with him?” Jessica asked softly.

“YES! I AM! VERY! A LOT MORE THAN WHEN I AM WITH YOU!” Tiffany shouted on top of her lungs and threw the book to the floor.

“Let’s break up then.” Jessica spoke calmly.

However, her heart is thumping wildly and her world is spinning hard like a hurricane.

“FINE!” Tiffany spat out and walked out of the door, without even turning her head back.

Jessica collapsed down to the floor, bawling her eyes out. She was too late. Everything that she wanted to give to Tiffany was too late. She knew that she should have work harder. She knew that she should earned more money and gave her all that she wanted.

However, it is all too late and that includes the diamond ring sitting silently in her pocket. The one that supposedly will seal their fate and destiny together, the one that Jessica spend many late nights in the café to design it just to have it specially for Tiffany. The one that Jessica researched hard for the best crafts maker to make it for them.

It was all useless now. She lost everything and even she is rich, without Tiffany, she is back to square one.

A beggar and a poor human in the world.

Correction, the poorest human in the world.

****

Jessica smiled sadly as she looked at the scene in front of her. The guy had her arms on Tiffany’s waist, the waist that used to belong to her only. They were smiling happily and Tiffany once again showed her eye smile, something that belongs to her previously.

Jessica pulled her body back from the corner and leaned against the cold hard wall. She thumbed the necklace hanging around her neck sadly. It was two silver rings that have a crescent and sun at each side of the word JETI on the inner side of the rings.

“I hope that despite all the hardship we’ve been through, it will still be the sweetest memories in your life with me.” Jessica whispered silently and tears escaped from her eyes as she tightened her grip on the rings – the only thing left to remind her that she was once rich before.

Perhaps it was too far, but Jessica had missed out the pain and hurt that was present behind the crescent eyes when she smiled. It no longer twinkles when she had stepped out of the door of Jessica’s apartment and it certainly loses it sparkles when Jessica did not came back and bring her back. She had lost the Sun that light up her life.

The river was calming and sparkling as it reflected the night lights from the streets beside it. The cold winter wind was blowing harshly against her face, coldness seeping in through her neck opening and numbed her body.

Jessica heaved a sigh as she stared at the deep, black water that was flowing so silently and smoothly southwards. She swung her legs lightly, enjoying the cold breeze that she preferred better to the warm hot summer breeze.

How long has it been?

Jessica scrunched her nose as she thinks, throwing her head behind as she faced the dark sky.

It has been a month since Tiffany walked out on her.

Time just seemed to past so slow when Tiffany is not around with her. Her days seemed so quiet and uneasily peaceful and Jessica knew that she was not used to it. How funny it is for she knew that her life before she met Tiffany was exactly the same as what she’s experiencing now.

It scared her badly on the thoughts on how a single presence that she had allowed in her life affected her so badly. It’s like a hurricane that comes hurling to her estate, churning up her house and turned her world upside down within a second and left after its grand appearance. All it left behind was the eerie peaceful that estate once has before its arrival and the only difference was, this time round, it left emptiness behind as well.

Jessica shut her eyes tightly before looking back down and opened her eyes, once again, staring back at the peacefully flowing water. She snorted in her heart as she reached to her side and picked up her can of booze.

She really wondered how the river can be so peaceful when her heart and mind is so chaotic right now, with a certain brunette running around in her mind, not giving her a moment of peace at all. It doesn’t matter whether if she’s asleep or awake, as long as her senses are still working and she is still breathing, she knew that Tiffany would never be out of her mind, her heart and her world at all.

She gulped down the carbonated alcohol and welcomed the fuzzy, choking feeling that intruded her throat and chest. Her throat tightened at the huge gulped of water that was pushed down forcefully and her chest constricted furiously under the pressure of the carbonated liquid. Her chest hurts badly as her face grimaced in pain and she froze for a moment as she waited for the feeling to be gone.

The liquid finally went down to her stomach but the pain lingered.

That’s when it hits Jessica hardly that the pain in her chest has nothing to do with the alcohol at all. It has been hurting all these while after Tiffany left, after she saw Tiffany in the guy’s hand.

Jessica curled her fingers tightly around the can, crushing the metal along with it. She swallowed her spit painfully and clutched the edge of the river ledge with her free hand. She doesn’t understand why she still can’t move on and started over a new when Tiffany was already long gone.

She is such a failure. Jessica shook her head to no one in particular and let out a low chuckle, mocking at herself.  She felt so useless like a needle, thrown away after her purpose was met and forgotten by the rest. It’s like she has never exist at all, never part of other’s life even though she was intertwined with them for a mere two seconds. And for that two second, she felt that she existed, her presence was served as a use and she was happy.

But happiness never lasted for long because right now, she’s like a used needle that was thrown to her side and forgotten while she remained in the bin, still hoping for a chance that she will be picked up and be used once again.

Foolish

Stupid

An idiot

That was helplessly in love

“I missed you… but it’s stupid to miss you. You’re gone while I’m still pathetically stuck with you. What happened to us? I thought we were doing fine? I thought we are still in love so what happened exactly? Why did you left me and – and forgot me?”

Jessica muttered breathlessly and buried her face into her palms. She was about to let out a cry when she heard a faint calling of her name.

“J – Jessica…?”

Jessica tensed at the familiar voice and stilled her movement, convincing herself that she’s hearing things because there’s no way Tiffany would be here. But the second calling that was slightly louder proved that she’s not imaging things.

“Jessica? Is that you?”

Jessica slowly looked up and turned her head over her shoulder. There she was, Tiffany was standing a few metres away from the ledge, under the street lamp post that brightened her features in the night, allowing her to glow in the soft – warm light that made her looked so gorgeous, warm and fragile. Jessica gulped at the sight and blinked her eyes twice before looking away.

It still hurts, her heart still hurts and it felt as though the slowly recovered wound on it were tore opened once again, the fresh blood oozing out freely and wetting her chest.

She heard footsteps coming nearer to her albeit hesitant. It stopped beside her and Jessica threw a glance at the dark shadow beside her on the ledge that she was sitting on. She inhaled deeply, wondering why on earth Tiffany still wants to approach her.

“It’s been a while.”

Tiffany spoke gently, her hands were on the ledge and clasped together. Jessica saw it but spoke nothing of it even though she felt that Tiffany has invaded her personal space. She wanted to turn and walked away from Tiffany but her heart decided to stay.

For once, Jessica wished that she didn’t own a heart.

“I see you still come to the river bank.”

Jessica blinked her eyes as she fixated her gaze on the architectures opposite of her and nodded her head once.

“How are you doing?”

Jessica scowled silently at the question. How is she doing? What a joke. She felt like slapping Tiffany right on her face, telling her that she’s freaking not fine because no matter what she does, she still could not get Tiffany out of her mind and heart and no matter how she wanted to move on, she still can’t because she remembered that she has given her heart to Tiffany but the latter has heartlessly took it and went off with it, leaving her to grow a new heart that knows nothing about love, happiness, laughter and but only pain and wounds.

How do you think I’m doing is what Jessica wanted to ask Tiffany back.

Lots of emotion rushed through her heart and mind and Jessica felt like she’s about to explode from the overload of emotions. She opened her mouth, ready to lash out but felt something inside her burst.

“I’m fine.”

Is what she replied instead.

She saw the shadow of Tiffany nodding and silence engulfed them once again. The winter night breeze picked up and blew towards their direction gently, both their hair tousled under the small disturbance and Jessica caught a whiff of lavender scent. Her mind went hazy and her heartbeats doubled. It was the same scent that used to put her in peace and place her to a deep slumber before.

She felt so ironic that right now, even though she was feeling uncomfortable with Tiffany’s presence, the scent of Tiffany actually calmed her and brought back the peacefulness that she has lost within her a month ago.  Jessica exhaled deeply once again, trying to get a hold of herself and clutched the edge of the ledge with both of her hands beside her and shook her legs gently.

“What are you doing here?”

Tiffany was surprised by the sudden question that seemed so calm and gentle.

“I was having dinner with a friend nearby. He need to run an errand so to avoid inconvenience, I left and decided to take a walk here.”

If heart is made of glass, Jessica was hell sure that her heart has broken into million pieces that could never ever be fixed.

“A friend, huh?”

She didn’t mean to, but she could not stopped the jealously that took over her whole being and was released without any notice from her mind. After all, she still loves Tiffany and it certainly leaves a bad taste in her mouth that she was not the one with Tiffany right now.

“A friend.”

Tiffany repeated once again and memories of that fateful night where they broke up flashed through her mind in a speed of lightning, hurting her head as it pounded relentlessly.

Jessica clutched her head with both hands as she felt the pounding continued and her face scrunched up in discomfort. Tiffany frowned at the sight and stood behind Jessica, pulling her hands away and started to massage Jessica’s head gently.

Jessica pulled away hurriedly upon her touch and Tiffany felt a stab in her heart. It felt as though her hands were dirty and Jessica was burnt by it. Sliding to her left, Jessica swung her legs over the ledge and jumped down from it before taking a few steps back from Tiffany. She glared at Tiffany with unreadable eyes and Tiffany stared back at her with eyes filled with hurt.

“What do you think you’re doing?”

Jessica hissed softly as she narrowed her eyes at Tiffany, feeling ridiculous by the touch and humiliated by it. How on earth can Tiffany think that she is still able to touch Jessica so easily when they are no longer together?

“I – I’m just trying to help you to relieve the pain.”

Jessica let out a snort of laughter before shaking her head in disbelief at Tiffany.

“How could you relieve my pain when you’re the one who’s causing it?”

Tiffany stared at Jessica, eyes brimming with scalding hot tears at Jessica’s words. How could Jessica said that when Tiffany has been living in hell for the past month without Jessica.

Tiffany doesn’t understand. Why is she the one that is the main cause of Jessica when the latter was the one that hurled hurting remarks on her and initiate the break up?

Jessica was the one that pushed her away and threw her away. Jessica was the one that hurt her with all those remarks that stabbed in her heart like a blade and left so many scars unhealed in her heart. Jessica was the one that caused her so many sleepless nights that was spent away by her tears.

So how, how can Jessica said that she’s the cause of her pain when she was the one that was relieving the pain by herself, licking all the wounds in the corner of her house, hoping that the scars will be healed when Jessica came back and bring her back to her side.

She let the tears rolled down her cheeks freely as she stared at Jessica silently, noticing how Jessica’s eyes widened at the sight of her tears but ignored it. Tiffany’s lips trembled as she opened her mouth.

“I – I never wa – wanted to hurt you. Y – you were th – the one who, who hurt me. I – I never once despise you at all. I – I never felt unsatisfied with the situation we were in. I – I never wanted anything from you except you! B – but that night when you called me materialistic an  - and doesn’t trust me at all, I – I just felt so angry and frustrated that I – I agree with whatever you said. I’m so hurt that you actually never once trusted me and the love we have.”

Tiffany spoke in between sobs and finally she let out the all the pent up frustration in her body as she slid to the ground and started crying out loud, feeling disappointment filling her up once again with the additional of pain.

“I never once care about what you gave me or how rich you were. All I care was the kisses, the hugs and touches you gave me because to me that was the most precious things I could get from you. Those are priceless to me and I thought you knew!”

Tiffany shouted out loudly and Jessica swallowed the lump in her throat, feeling her world spinning and whirling that she could not balance herself at all.

She couldn’t believe that it was her fault. She couldn’t believe that she was the one that let go of their love and made Tiffany suffered. She never once knew that she was the one that hurt Tiffany.

She never ever tried to understand Tiffany at all. All this while when they are together, she has only being thinking about herself and never once spared a thought for Tiffany. Jessica stumbled a few steps back before falling to her knees when she realized her mistakes. Tiffany was still crying in front of her and Jessica felt her heart clenched tightly, squeezing the life out of her as Tiffany’s tears hit the cement ground, creating a darker hue.

“I love you. All this while, I only love you. I don’t care whether you are rich Jung Jessica or poor Jung Jessica. I just know that I only love you, you as Jung Jessica and nothing more! Why can’t you see that or is it that I’m really so bad at loving you that you never knew it at all?”

Jessica shook her head vehemently at Tiffany’s words as she started to crawl towards her lover, guilt started to add on her with every step that she took and it crushed her when she reached Tiffany. With trembling hand, she lifted Tiffany’s head by her chin and looked into her eyes.

“I – I’m sorry.”

Was what she could say.

“I’m sorry.”

Jessica thumbed off the tears from Tiffany’s eyes while the latter closed her eyes at the light touches.

“I’m sorry.”

Jessica shut her eyes and felt tears rolling down her cheeks.

“I’m sorry.”

Jessica whispered out as she pulled Tiffany into her embrace and kissed her hair.

“I’m sorry.”

She whispered over and over again as Tiffany cried out in her embrace while she cried silently over Tiffany’s head.

“I’m sorry. Really sorry.”

She whispered until her throat was dried and her voice was hoarse. The moon was hidden by the clouds as the sky started to turn bright.

“I’m sorry…”

She whispered once again and rocked her body slightly with Tiffany still in her embrace, no longer crying as she has fallen asleep.

“I’m sorry, please forgive me.”

The wind was cold and icy, but Jessica could not feel anything except the warmth in her embrace.

“Forgive me, please.”

Jessica muttered once again and felt her eyelids drooping slowly. Her lips were swollen, numb and purple from the cold, but Tiffany’s face was red and warm from the embrace.

“Forgive me please, Tiffany. I would do anything to have you back. Forgive me please.”

Jessica muttered once again before she went unconscious, unaware of the pair of open eyes in her embrace that was looking at her from below.

Jessica doesn’t know if she was forgiven or not because the last thing she felt before she went unconscious was a pair of warm, soft lips on her cold, numb ones.

***

[A few years later]

“I like this.”

Jessica flipped over to her side and stared at the catalogue that was in Tiffany’s hands.

“What’s that?”

“A necklace!”

Tiffany answered happily while Jessica rolled her eyes and flipped back to face the wall.

“It’s so beautiful, look Jessi!”

“The price is beautiful too, Tiff.”

Jessica answered back sarcastically and ignored the shakes from Tiffany.

“Aww, Jessi! But it’s really beautiful. Look at the craftsmanship! It’ll be worth the price.”

Tiffany whined and sat up straight as she stared at the catalog with envy and Jessica heaved a sigh before turning back to face Tiffany with an expressionless face.

“Well, I’ll buy for you if you are willing to trade it with the trip to Paris. Choose.”

Tiffany placed the catalogue down slowly on her laps and frowned, considering the trade seriously and pouted slightly.

“So how?”

Jessica asked as she prop her head up with her hand and stared at Tiffany. The latter looked at her with a pair of puppy eyes and Jessica groaned before laying her head back on the pillow. She hated how Tiffany would always pull this expression whenever she tries to get something she wants.

Jessica grinned when a pair of lips covered hers and a body weight was eased on top of her slowly.

“Paris, with you.”

“You’re sure?”

Jessica mumbled against Tiffany’s lips and the latter nodded her head without hesitation. Jessica lifted her head and caught Tiffany’s lips with her before flipping their position on the bed, trapping Tiffany under her as she pulled the cover over them and slipped a hand under Tiffany’s shirt while they started a tongue battle.

***

The alarm rang nosily and Jessica slammed it shut as she opened her eyes sleepily and turned towards the night stand beside their bed. She slowly pulled her arm out under Tiffany’s neck and sat up to find her shirt and threw it on. Taking a look at her phone, she checked her message and emails before letting out a sigh. Placing her phone back on the night stand, her eyes caught onto the purple black catalogue and she picked it up slowly. Her eyes scanned at the pictures of twinkling jewelry present on it and smiled when she saw one with a sun and moon interlocked pendent. Taking a look at the top of the catalogue and another glance at the price, Jessica smirked slightly before shaking her head.

“Jessi?”

Jessica hurriedly placed the catalog back on the table and slid down under the cover before allowing Tiffany to snuggle against her.

“Why are you up so early? It’s Sunday.”

“Two franchise shops needed me in the morning. I’ve to make a trip down, baby.”

Tiffany pouted with her eyes closed and muttered out sleepily.

“But it’s Sunday and you never go back to all these cafés unless necessary.”

“Sorry Tiff, I want to sleep in with you too but I can’t. There’s a need to tweak the menu and operational procedures in SooYoung’s side and I have to drop in Yoona’s side too.”

Tiffany let out a whine and buried her face in the pillow at Jessica’s explanation, causing the older girl to laugh.

“I’m sorry; I’ll be back as early as possible.”

“I still prefer when you’re just a boss of one café and not ten cafés.”

Jessica smiled and planted a kiss on Tiffany’s lips before getting off the bed.

“One or ten, I’m still the Jung Jessica that you love and knew.”

Jessica disappeared in the bathroom and come out after a while, clad in fresh casual smart clothing and hair tied up in a bun.

“I’ve got to go, bye Tiff.”

She went over to the bed where Tiffany was sitting up in a daze and kissed her on her lips.

“I love you.”

Tiffany replied gently and Jessica smiled before kissing her again.

“I love you too.”

***

“JESSI! What is this!?”

Jessica ran towards the bedroom upon hearing Tiffany’s shout and hurried over to her side when she saw her lover standing in front of their bed, not moving at all.

“What happened, Tiff?”

“What is this?”

Tiffany muttered again and Jessica peeked over her shoulder, only to realize Tiffany was holding onto a square velvet box that revealed the necklace with a sun and moon interlocked pendent.

“Why did you buy this?”

“Because you wanted it?”

“But I chose Paris!”

Jessica chuckled and hugged Tiffany from the back as she rested her chin on her shoulder.

“It’s our 2 year wedding anniversary gift. Paris and this comes in a set.”

“We never discussed it at all. This is so expensive!”

“My present for you, I don’t think we have to discuss. As for the price, we’ll just need to have simple meals in future then.”

“Jessi…”

“I love you and I said before I’ll do anything for you.”

“And I said I don’t need all these other than you.”

Tiffany spun around in Jessica’s embrace and looked at her with a pair of glistening eyes.

“I really don’t need any of all these… I just want you and your love.”

“Tiffany gets all my love and all of me if Tiffany’s wants but Jessica wants Tiffany to have what she’s able to give to Tiffany too. Although you said so, I still want to love you as much as I could. Furthermore, I bought this because of the pendent.”

Jessica whispered as she pulled Tiffany closer by her waist and the latter smiled blissfully before cupping Jessica’s face with her hands.

“I like this present but I love you more.”

Tiffany whispered and tip-toed before kissing Jessica sweetly on her lips, the pendent lying securely around her neck and twinkles softly under the lights.
