Vanessa grew up in Scotland with her childhood friend, Scrooge McDuck. They've been friends since they were small children they've done everything together from working together to moving to America together. Vanessa and Scrooge started their business together working with each-other becoming the riches ducks in the world.

As the years went back she fell in love with her best friend or she did until she saw him and Goldie kissing at a gala. After that she left the manor and married Danial Duck, the two of them had a child together, Jasmine Duck.

By the time Jasmine was 3 months old Vanessa and Danial had been fighting a lot since Danial had cheated on her with Goldie and so they ended up getting an divorced and kicked the two of them out, what was even worst that it was in a snow storm.

They ended up finding shelter at McDuck manor where Scrooge let them stay for as long as they needed. She aside from Jasmine is the only person with Magic that Scrooge actually likes. So pretty soon the old spark from their relationship came back as they fell in love again.

However their relationship was cut short when they got into a fight with Magica De Spell who Danial had released from her imprisonment and Vanessa had gotten trapped within her amulet by Magica while trying to protect Scrooge and her daughter, when Magica was defeated by Scrooge and trapped in his number one dime, the amulet had disappeared along with Magcia.
