"Left!" Lexi instructed.

I nodded.

"It's getting dark," Scarlet pointed out a small way down the road.

"We should probably stop, then," I said.

There was a mumbling of approval, and we sat down in a clearing.

Scarlet burst into flames and lit a fire, then extinguished herself.

Everyone lay down then, preparing to sleep, and Korey was on guard duty.

I was sleeping, but I could faintly hear Morgan and Sasha whispering.

"I don't want to hurt you."

"You could never hurt me!"

"What do you call a busted lip and some heavy blood loss?"

"Morgan, you're being ridiculous."

"I am not. Trust me, it's not pretty."

"You can't know until you try."

"I don't want to hurt you."

"Why do you keep saying that? You could never hurt me!"

"Why do you keep saying that?"

"Morgan-"

"Sasha."

"Is there another reason you don't want to kiss me?"

A long pause.

"Of course there isn't!"

Another long pause.

"You hesitated."

"You did too."

"Maybe we shouldn't be together."

"Sasha-"

"I'm going back to bed."

There was another long pause. A very long pause.

Then I could hear the kissing noises.
