I took a break from studying (geo trig final tomorrow) and there was an anime review in my recommended, yes I know 'amine uwu' but I'm fairly impartial on it, and I seemed to remember someone mentioning before, probably an art YouTuber I still don't know

I go to watch it and it's about this series called 'Made In Abyss' (no idea how popular it is, Ghibli style visuals Nexflix? and dark themes) and I'm just,, immersed

Quick synopsis, I haven't actually watched it this is what I learnedalsovaguespoilersIguess: these people live around a big pit of death with seven levels, innocent kiddo wants to go deeper in and shortly after finding a humanoid, adorable robot, gets a message from her missing mother to meet her at the bottom, which is crazy because dun dun dun no one has ever returned from there

The big thing is that there are seven levels, and while they're all dangerous ecosystems, the scary part isn't going in, it's getting out, since there's a curse that gets progressively worse as you go deeper and works its effects when you try to escape

So what do they do?

They try to go to the bottom and probably almost/entirely die I dunno

It's,,, really dark, lots of gore and tortured kids and just, plain, dark

But that's not what got me pondering existence for half an hour, nope, it was the hECKING MAP

The beautiful intricacy at work here has just,, blown me away,, and now I'm in a super big worldbuilding mood, I literally just roughsketched a map out of nowhere someone hELP

So yea, that's the story of how a random anime review made me rethink existence
