personality
dimstar would do anything for his clan's sake. he's immensely loyal and courageous, though he doesn't always think well under pressure and can be quite stubborn. he's easily angered but, as long as you don't get on his nerves, he's benevolent and caring. dimstar excels in fighting, though is a little rusty on hunting. he tries his best. he'd serve as a shield for his loved ones in a heartbeat, and this is what makes him such a suitable leader.

backstory
dimkit was the runt of the litter of two, his sister stronger and bigger than him. she was especially admired by their father, dimkit always jealous from the amount of attention she received compared to him. sparkkit was still very close to him, though.

the two often ventured out of camp to have fun. when they were nearing their apprentice ceremony, journeying outside of camp, sparkkit slipped and found herself clinging to the edge of a cliff, a river roaring beneath her. dimkit was too panicked and shocked to act fast though, and his sister fell to what was presumed her death.

dimkit's father was the only cat that seemed to blame him. two months into dimpaw's apprenticeship, his mother became ill and passed, driving his father to the edge of sanity. dimpaw attempted to comfort his father but he was only pushed away. brackenleap eventually disappeared from the clan one night, and it was rumored that he'd joined the ranks of outside rogues. dimpaw was traumatized by all that had happened in the most recent three moons of his life, but still managed to make friends like cloverpaw and lilypaw that made everything better.

dimpaw was trained well and exceeded his warrior test. he became dimflare, named for his extreme loyalty and courage. he stayed independent in his first several moons of being a warrior, and stuck close to his clanmates when the threats from rogues became worse and worse. his close friend cloverpool lost her mate, and it seemed as if all was empty.

dimflare was hurt by his dead friends but still managed to comfort cloverpool. the two became closer than ever and eventually developed feelings for each other. dimflare felt a sense of love stronger than he had ever felt in his lifetime. he loved cloverpool with all his heart and would do anything to protect her.

the battle with archangel grew closer and tensions grew stronger. dimflare entered a quarrel with hollowstorm when he insulted minktalon and those of rogue ancestry. dimflare defended the clanmates he considered family and attempted to do everything he could to help his clan. it was soon revealed that cloverpool was expecting his kits, putting dimflare under even more stress.

when the battle arrived, dimflare did all he could to protect his family. he was shocked when cloverpool began to deliver their kits in the middle of the war, and went to assist and defend her with galestorm. he hadn't expected galestorm to sacrifice his life for cloverpool, though. he and breezepaw watched their friend die right in front of them.

the battle drew to a close and dimflare was astounded to see waspstar dead at archangel's paws. he and the others did their best to draw archangel away, but echoclan fell under his control. his kits, quailkit and flamekit, had been born into a world much darker and full of dangers awaiting them.

time passed and his kits finally became apprentices. now, echoclan was ready to take a stand. breezestorm was the first to take a major stand and spoke on behalf of his father, galestorm, and gathered the rebellion. cats quickly joined and readied to leave, but flamepaw insisted on staying. dimflare was heartbroken from his daughter's decision and saw the hurt in quailpaw's and cloverpool's eyes. flamepaw disagreed with all of their attempts to get her to come along and he was forced to leave his daughter behind, something he'd never imagined ever doing.

dimflare did his best to assist breezestorm at leading the rebellion to a new home, minktalon and redcloud assisting alongside him. when the rebellion decided to choose three cats to speak to spiritclan on behalf of becoming leader, he never expected to be one of the cats going alongside breezestorm and redcloud. cloverpool gave him one enlightened smile and quailpaw one hopeful glance, and that was all it took for him to step on ahead.

at the meeting with spiritclan, waspstar selected dimflare to become leader. he was overwhelmed with the selection and breezestorm seemed slightly angered over the decision. dimflare was afraid of not leading well enough and injuring his relationship with breezestorm, who he attempted to be the best father figure to.
