Since September

(Verse 1)

Remember the days, the golden rays,

We'd dance in the sun, laughing 'til we're numb.

Your hand in mine, like we had all the time,

Whispers in the breeze, secrets in the trees.

(Pre-Chorus)

But seasons change, and so do we,

Leaves fall down, love's not always evergreen.

In the quiet town, where we made our vow,

I still see your face, even now.

(Chorus)

Since September, I've been missing you,

The summer nights, and the morning dew.

Every fallen leaf, reminds me of the grief,

Of a love that's gone, but I can't move on.

Since September, I've been lost in you,

Trying to find a way to make it through.

But the autumn rain, only brings the pain,

Of a heart that's torn, since you've been gone.

(Verse 2)

We carved our names in that old oak tree,

Promises made, like we'd always be.

The stars were bright, on that September evening,

We thought we'd last, but time went so fast.

(Bridge)

I drive down the roads we used to roam,

Radio on, singing all our songs.

The memories fade, but the feelings stay,

Still hear your voice, whispering my name.

(Outro)

Since September, I've been waiting here,

Hoping somehow, you'd reappear.

But the winds have changed, and so have we,

Guess some love doesn't last till the end.

Backstory: I was listening to Fearless(Taylor's Version) yesterday and I kind of got inspired by the album and thought of writing this song that she was in love with someone they both had great memories and days but she lost him early he passed away and she was so heartbroken. I know Taylor didn't experience this situation but I imagined if that happened and this song maybe would have been from the vault hehe. If any of you relate to this song I am glad it was really nice to construct this song.
