I restarted my fish tank today and everything was super gross so we had to soak everything in vinegar... The tank, the heater, the filter, the decoration things, everything! We soaked the smaller things downstairs a few at a time in a bowl, but the tank was in the bathtub and there was so much vinegar... For 2 1/2 hours... It smelled so bad! Every time I walked into that bathroom (at least 3 times) I pinched my nose. Sooo lesson learned: don't smell vinegar.
