Contd from last part.

Ragini had returned to her room to check up on Sanskar. The encounter with Swara had left her feeling furious beyond limits. Oh how she wanted to punish Swara for spewing filth. But she knew it would result in no change in her sister's behaviour. So against better judgement, she decided to check up on Sanskar and talk to him. His presence itself was like a soothing balm and right now she needed to calm herself down. result in her getting hurt, she had decided to speak to the one person who could calm her mind instantly.
As she walked into the room with light steps so as to not disturb his sleep in case he was still asleep, she was perplexed to see that he was not in the room. She tried giving him a call but every time the phone got disconnected.
Ragini wondered as she sat on the sofa.

Where had Sanskar gone in this state? He was injured and he needed to rest. Ragini sat in deep thought for a few minutes and then stood up.  Whatever was the scenario, she needed to find out his whereabouts and also needed to knock some sense into her sister.

She was determined to patch things up between the couple. Her sister was feather brained. But Sanskar loved her and that was all that mattered.

She took resolute steps and walked towards Swara's room. She briefly collided with Sanskar as he ran outside the room. She ran after him but he disappeared into the lift and paid no heed to her calling out his name.
She was perplexed looking at his disheveled state but finally decided to let him be.
Had Swara been the cause of his breakdown? Had she uttered the same filth to Sanskar that she had accused Ragini of few hours back? She wondered.
She had to speak to Swara first. She strode towards the Room and spotted a white key card in the hallway. She stopped her steps to inspect the card. Upon inspecting it closely, she realised that it was their room key card and Sanskar had dropped must have dropped his key card in a haste as he collided with her in the hallway.

She slowly picked it and up stood outside Swara's room. She knocked at the door thrice but she received no response. Assuming Swara must have been in the washroom, she decided to enter the room to speak to her. She slowly inserted the key card in the slot and walked into the room with light steps.

The room looked in a disarray with clothes scattered all around. Perplexed at the state of the room, she decided to walk in further.

As her eyes scanned the room, her eyes landed on two naked figures huddled together on the bed. As she glanced further, she realised that the two figures were none other than her sister and husband, cuddling together in what could be termed as a intimate position. The sight of Swara's head lying on Laksh's naked torso while their hands were interlinked was a sight that her mind could not erase.
Ragini looked aghast and her steps started tracing back until she felt bile rise up her throat and she ran of of the room.

Hey eyes had teared up but strangely she left numb. It was as of she could not feel any emotion. She didn't know what she was feeling or what she was supposed to feel. As she walked down the hallway and she gained some semblance of the objects around, She realized that of all the emotions she would be feeling, shock was not one of them. It was as though her subconscious was prepared to see such a sight.

Perplexed at her stream of thoughts, she walked towards the hotel reception.

She was moving towards the lobby when she spotted a distraught looking Sanskar desperately trying to locate something. Before she could follow him, he left the place. She spotted a silhouette sitting at the steps of the terrace garden.

It didn't take her any time to guess that it was indeed Sanskar sitting in that position. He looked distraught as he stared into oblivion.

She slowly sat beside him. He sensed her presence and finally spoke after a gap of ten minutes.

"I thought she loved me. Why did she do this then Ragu?
Was my love not enough?" Sanskar questioned

Ragini held her tears in as she looked at sanskar's devastated state. She had never seen him so broken. She was at a loss of words. How would she comfort him ? What could she say?

She slowly held his hand and looked at him before she could speak. He was looking at her intently.

" It was never about your love Sanskar. It was never about what you did. It was always about her. What she wanted, what she desired. You had always put her happiness, her wants, her desires before yourself and when you stopped doing that she got angry and acted out. I used to be envious of her especially the way you loved her. I had always yearned for such unconditional love and such a relationship. But I now feel pity that she could not value you. I know this may hurt you know but I don't think she ever loved you. She may have been attracted to you but I don't think she loved you as love involves giving each other respect and being mindful of the other person's needs. It involves caring for the other person and sometimes learning to make a compromise. As much as I would like to believe, neither Laksh nor Swara ever loved us. I tried my best to believe that he loved me but he didn't.  He never respected me not looked beyond himself. Same was the situation with Swara. She could never look beyond her need to gain attention, her need to get appreciation.
Ragini's face held an expression of disgust and disappointment as she spoke the last words.

She stopped speaking to gauge his reaction. As he lifted his face to look at her, his eyes held a mixture of emotions. There was pain, disappointment and strangely a realisation that seemed to have been triggered by her words.

"You deserve someone who loves you truly and Swara is not that person.
You have always guided me with my relationship with Laksh and I think I should be able to help you with this." She took a pause

"I don't think she deserves your love.  You deserve to be with someone who understands you, cares for you and the only way you will be able to move past this is if you give yourself freedom. Freedom from this relation."

As she spoke the final words she looked at him. He remained silent but nodded nevertheless. His eyes conveyed a myriad of emotions, but realisation and determination were the ones that stood out in those pools of black..

As the night changed its colours the two souls sat there gazing at the sunrise which would mark the beginning of a new dawn in their lives.

Next day

Ragini was packing her luggage when Laksh entered the room.
"Where were you last night?"He questioned
It is none of your business. She responded.
"You are my wife Ragini and I deserve to know where you were." Laksh yelled
After what happened last night, I don't think you deserve to know anything. Ragini spoke in the same tone and pitch as him
"You can't walk away from me" Laksh spoke as he held arm tightly.

"She can and she will. Stay away from her. You have caused enough damage"Sanskar spoke as he entered the room and removed Ragini's arms from Laksh's hold.
Oh look the saviour is here. Don't you think you are too concerned about her Sanskar. Laksh sneered

Phatak !

Laksh held his cheek as he looked back at Ragini who had just slapped him.

" How dare you slap him Ragini? Did you forget he is your husband? Swara bellowed with rage as she entered the room and saw Ragini slapping Laksh.

Oh look the self righteous queen is here to poke her nose again in somebody's private business.” Ragini sneered

"Ragini" Sanskar called out softly and nodded his head in a manner to suggest that Ragu should leave the matter.

"Why did you stop Ragini. Let me also hear the venom that my murderous sister has to spew" Swara spoke

"Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones at others. You of all people should know that Swara" Ragini calmly replied.

"What do you mean? Say clearly what you want to say. Don't try your old tricks with me. You have fooled me once but I won't let you fool me again" Swara spoke in an edgy voice.

"Well if you want me to spell it out then here goes. You know what, you may portray yourself as the self sacrificial queen, the Ms. goody Two Shoes, but that is far from reality. Beyond the facade of being the righteous sacrificial lamb, you have this inherent need for attention. You always proclaimed to be the one who was selfless but let me tell you. You weren't. You helped your biological parents unite. Guess what I was the one who put in efforts to unite my step mother and father both of which never fulfilled their parental role towards me.
You just care about showing that you are right irrespective of whether the situation is about you or not.
When Laksh went missing, you decided to break ties with Sanskar even though the situation was never about you.
You love becoming the center of attention and when things do not go your way you act out!"

"RAGINI ! "Swara screamed as raised her hand at her.

Sanskar held Swara's hand midway as she raised her hand to slap Ragini.

Swara was engraged beyond measures.

Sanskar ! Swara yelled at him, aghast at that he had prevented her from slapping Ragini.

"What has happened to you Sanskar? You never went against me and today you are interfering in my relations with Ragini. You were never like this" She spoke accusingly as she looked into his eyes.
Sanskar stood still as he tried to read the emotions in Swara's eyes. He was just processing her words when the next few words she spoke left him in shock.

Are you cheating on me with my sister? " Swara yelled at him while
Sanskar just looked at Swara bewildered and aghast at her words.

Chatak !

Ragini had slapped Swara.

Thud ! The slap reverberated through the room.
How dare you speak such vile words Swara? I know that you and I have had not had the best of relations but Sanskar has always loved you, never once betraying your trust? How could you insult your relationship and love with him by speaking such filth?
Have you forgotten he fought the world for you?

"How dare you slap me? You Ragini have always tried to take away from loved ones. You took away my Laksh from me so why should I believe you will not do the same and settle scores by taking Sanskar too?

"As it is he has started fighting with me, ignoring my decisions and listening to you. So it is possible you gave him comfort to earn brownie points and brainwash my husband against me. He anyway loves to seek comfort so he must have seeked comfort in your arms" Swara spoke in an accusing tone.

As he stood still and glanced at her form, he wondered whether it was the same Swara he fell in love with it whether he had never recognised her true face. How could she speak such vile words to him? Did she not trust him? He fought the world for her and she had accused him of such a heinous act when in actuality it was she who had broken his trust and given him such a betrayal.
How had he failed to recognise her true colours? Was he so blinded by love?

Sanskar's silence fueled Swara's anger anymore.

"So it is true then. That is why my darling husband is not defending himself" Swara sneered.

" You may think as you wish to. I do not need to give you any explanation. I always thought you were my life's biggest boon. But I guess I was wrong. You are the biggest bane in my life and I cannot believe it took me so long to realise it. But I m glad I have finally realised it" Sanskar spoke in a  sarcastic tone.

"You both can believe what you want to. Ragu and I owe no explanation to cheaters like you. I just hope I never have to see your faces again" Sanskar held Ragu's hand and strode out of the room with a resolute determination.

A determination to step into a new life and finally build a life with people who cared about them.
