Austin pinned Chase on the floor and started punching him. Roseline froze for a moment, Austin got up and pulled Chase from his collar. Chase's nose started to bleed but that didn't stop Austin. He slapped him hard enough that he immediately collapsed on the ground. Austin went back to him and that's when Roseline got back to her senses.

"WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU?!!" she shouted as she ran and grabbed his hand in order to stop his further action.

But that didn't stop him. Austin pulled his hand away from her grip and went back to the helpless boy who was now lying on the ground.

Chase kicked him on the stomach making the boy wince in pain.

Roseline ran and got between the two of them. She joined her hands helplessly in front of her brother who seemed reckless like a monster. His hair is messed, sweat dripping down his head. A complete stranger.

This is not Austin. Rosaline repeated in her mind.

"Leave." he said in a raspy voice sending chills down Roseline's spine.

"Wh-why? " Roseline replied not ready to move even a single inch.

"He hurts you can't you see?" Austin replied clearly not wanting a conversation.

"What? " Roseline couldn't get any of this.

"He is bringing back the past we left behind." Austin uttered straight to the point

"What?" a whisper left Roseline's lips.

But that didn't stop Austin.

He pushed Roseline aside and bent down to get a clearer look at Chase.

"You are the reason." he said kicking Chase's leg.

Chase hissed through pain. His eyes rolling back due to it. Grunts escaping his lips constantly

"You" Austin said lifting up Chase from his hair.

"Are" he said pulling him up enough to meet his eye level

"The reason." he finished his sentence by throwing Chase toward the wall of the apartment.

Roseline got up and ran to Chase who now went unconscious.

Roseline's tears fell on chase's bruised cheek. She gritted her teeth and looked up to see Austin who was walking towards them.

He was about to push her away. But she caught his hand She looked up to meet his eyes which were already staring back at her. Her eyes were red and filled with anger.

"Enough..." she said getting up.

Her grip on his wrist tightens as she got up. He tried to pull away from her but no use. His wrist started to turn blue due to tight grip. He hissed as he tried his best to free himself.

Roseline looked back at Chase who laid lifeless on the ground.

She turned back to look at the person who did this to him.

"You hurted him." she said and a hard slap washed against Austin's cheek. He fell back.

As Roseline started to walk towards him ready to punish him for what he had done to her friend but two hands wrapped around her to stop her to proceed further action.

She struggled out of the grip but the person was much stronger.

"Let me go." she said wiggling in the person's grip.

"Roseline calm down." Jay said as he tightened his grip around her.

She calmed down instantly when she heard his voice in her ears,

"Sorry." she said letting loose. As the tears streamed down her face

"but he-"

"it's alright." Jay said with a soft wave in his voice.

"Guys...."

Everyone turned and looked at Jackie who sat beside Chase on the floor.

"We need to take him to the hospital" everyone nodded and Jay went to lift Chase up.

As everyone walked out Roseline stopped on her track and looked at Austin who now looked as if he was drowning in guilt.

"I hate you," she said before walking out from the scene as Austin sat there still. Shook from her words.

As everyone sat before the emergency room. There was an awkward silence took over but Roseline decided to break it.

"Well how did you guys reach there?" she asked as Jackie and Jay turned their attention towards her.

"Well, when I reached home I realised that Chase wasn't there yet. Jackie and I had decided that today we all should hang out. But we forgot to ask you guys." Jay spoke

"So then we decided to come and get you and thought he was with you." he continued.

Roseline nodded as he finished.

Suddenly a lump of guilt raised in her throat. It's my fault.

"You are the reason."

"He brings back the past we left behind."

"Why did she leave us? Were we this bad?

"No..."

Tears rolled her face as she realized why he did this. It's because of me. He thought that chase started to bring the past up but no it wasn't him. But it's still my fault I shouldn't have said that. It's because of me. Only if that day I could keep my shut for a little while. Then this wouldn't have happened. It's all m-

Her thoughts were interrupted when the doctors came out from the room in which chase was in.

It didn't take even a minute before everyone rushed to the doctor. The warm atmosphere was asking the scene more anxious than it already was.

Roseline wiped her tear away before doing the same.

"Excuse me, doctor." Jay said

The doctor who seemed in his middle thirties who was talking to a nurse turned his gaze towards them.

He scanned every single one of their faces before answering.

"Who's from his family?" he asked out of the blues his voice was a little raspy.

"I am" Jay replied and the doctor nodded.

He excused them for some space to talk with Jay for a while.

Roseline couldn't see their faces since they were pretty far away.

The atmosphere was getting more anxious as every minute passed.

"I'll go get some water" Jackie said.

Roseline nodded and she disappeared in the long hallways.

Roseline rested her face on her palm which were too resting on her thighs.

It was too much to take in at once. All she could hope was for him to be okay.

Roseline sighed as she felt everything getting heavier. As if her own mind was starting to play tricks on her.

"Roseline?" a voice echoed in her ears. A voice she didn't want to hear right now.

It was..
