First off- SACRED PREFIXES/SUFFIXES.
Don't don't DON'T use them! Please! I'll admit it, I'm guilty too. Moonpelt? Ugh. NO NO NO NO.
I'm talking about, of course, Moon-, -moon, Star-, and (occasionally) Silver-.
I KNOW there's Moonflower in the Warriors books, and Ambermoon and whatnot. But the Erins REGRETTED THEIR DECISION TO NAME THEM THAT.
Read that? THEY REGRETTED IT.
Why are Moon- and -moon bad? Well, the Moon is sacred to the Clans, no? Moonstone, Moonpool, and whatnot. Plus it's just...like a star, you know? Their ancestors.
Star-? STARCLAN. Stars represent fallen warriors. And if they become leader, it'd be quite awkward. (ahem, Starkit, ahem)
Silver- is basically just a no when paired with "-pelt". Silverpelt=Warrior ancestors/StarClan NOT a name.
Now on to other names.
Jazz-, -gleam, -sparkle, Metal-, Platinum-, Jade-, Waffle-, Car-?
NO.
Cats DON'T know about these things! Anything Twoleg-related (metals, precious stones, tech, music, etc) is NOT valid.
DON'T do the "Billystorm" thing either. CHANGE THE PREFIX. To...um, Dusk? Larch? SOMETHING. You can't live with a paw in each world.
On a similar topic, -horn, -gyver, -wish? No. Those are names given by a leader who evidently paid NO attentions to Firestar's naming lessons. They sound dumb and are freaking INVALID. Ughhhhhhh.
One last thing- canon mothers would never name their kits Wish-, Dream-, or something similar. So don't make YOUR mothers do it.
I think that's all today!
Ember OUT.
(If you want you can ask me whether your prefix/suffix is valid or not! I'd LOVE to help you.)
