• Okay look. If you're going to pay attention to anything I say in this chapter, pay attention to this. Wear clothes that you are comfortable in and that you like. That is the most important thing. No matter what it is you're wearing, you will look and feel better than you would wearing something you feel uncomfortable in. The first thing I do whenever I have one of my girls try on costumes before I even see how it looks is ask them if they're comfortable. That's what's really important when it comes to clothes, feeling comfortable. So wear whatever you want as long as you like it.

• It's always a smart move to get clothes that can be worn in different ways. Get cute tops that can be paired with jeans, a skirt, overalls, dress pants, etc. You could buy something that you can just wear one certain way, but it's more fun when you have clothes that you can mix and match with.

• Patterns are fun! Colors are fun! Don't be afraid of wearing something because it's too bright or eye-catching, embrace it.

• Fun fact: shoes can be a statement piece too.

• Jewelry is great and all, but sometimes there are outfits that look better without jewelry than with. Tip: most of the time when a top/collar is patterned, has a unique texture, or has a bunch of colors, you don't need to wear a necklace.

• That being said, don't shy away from accessorizing ever. Accessories can make the outfit. Find your own balance.

• Sometimes what's expensive... is worse.

• There are a lot of "official" fashion rules out there like "don't wear horizontal stripes" and most of the time, those rules are true. But there can be unique exceptions. If you think you've found a cute exception, don't be afraid to go for it!

• That being said, if you wear white pants past Labor Day, you're dead to me.

• When you're trying on tighter pants or skirts, try sitting down to make sure they still feel comfortable and don't split. Just a tip.

• Don't wear make-up because you think you won't look good without it. Wear make-up if you feel comfortable in it and wear it because you like it.

• If you have pierced ears, a pair of simple studs are always a good idea.

All-in-all, just wear what's most comfortable for you and don't be afraid to try out new looks that you're interested in. Don't wear clothes becomes they're "trendy", wear it because you like it. Fashion is one of the greatest forms of self-expression, so use to to just be yourself!
