I rubbed my hands over my face. It'd been a long day, and I was exhausted. After the paperwork, I'd had to go down and shred a bunch of papers, along with run a few errands. I'd just lucked out that I hadn't needed to go on a mission. Then I'd have to trust someone with Zella, and I didn't really trust anyone at NOTE. Or anywhere, really. I only trusted Zella. She was entrusted in my care after Jadzia died. Not anyone else's.

I'd just gotten to my apartment/floor/home when I decided to check my email. I went through and categorized the ones in my inbox, then sat on my bed. As soon as I sat down, my phone rang. I sighed, getting up. I picked up the receiver, noting the unknown, secure number.

"Hello?" I asked.

"Is this Adamaris Rivera?" My eyes widened.

"I am the CEO of ASI, an organization which desperately wants what your friend Jadzia Hayes wanted. A united nation." I gasped at Jadzia's name.

"How long have you been tracking me?"

"We've been in the background the whole time, waiting for someone like you and Jadzia." My eyes widened. "You could end the War, Adamaris." I inhaled sharply.

"I-I could?"

"Yes. If you join ASI, you could very well end the War." I looked down at Zella. Ending the War sounded pretty good, looking at her.

"Adama?" She asks again. I reach down and pick her up, settling her on my hip. Her tan hand reaches up, grasping some of my hair.

"Hey, Zel." She smiles, and I smile back.

"When do I start?" I asked. I could almost hear the smile in the male's voice.

"As soon as possible." I looked at Zella.

"Could I bring someone else?"

"If it's Jadzia's daughter, then yes. If it's anyone else, then forget it."

"We'll be there in a couple hours." I then hung up, smiling at Zella.

"Are we gonna go somewhere?" She asked. I smiled faintly.

"Yes, Zel. We're going to help the cause."

The headquarters for ASI were huge. Not quite as big as NOTE or JKAL, but pretty big. Especially for such a small portion of the population. I followed the agent who had met me when my plane had landed. Zella's hand was wrapped in mine, and I smiled at her. The agent ahead of us stopped by a door and knocked. A muffled 'come in' was heard, and the agent opened the door, allowing Zella and I to walk in before closing it.

"Please, sit down." The male from the phone had turned around in his office chair, nothing that much different than what you could buy at Office Depot. He was well built, his suit stretching at the seams slightly. His short, blue-black hair covered his eyes, dark red-brown as they were. I stared at his eyes, entranced by their unusual color. He raised an eyebrow, and I shook my head quickly, sitting down.

"As you know, Adamaris, I know quite a bit about you. But you know nothing about me, correct?" I nodded, still entranced by his eyes. "Well, I'll tell you the basics. If you're really good, you can find out the rest." He cleared his throat and I looked away before looking back at him. His lips were nice, rounded and pink. I blinked quickly. I wasn't here to find a boyfriend. I was here to work.

"My name is Aadolf Dorsey, and I'll be your commanding officer here at ASI." My gaze lifted to his eyes again. He was standing, leaning on his desk. "And I hope you'll like it here at ASI." I smiled faintly.

"I think I will, too," I said. He smiled, showing almost-perfect white teeth.

"I'll show you to your floor," he said, walking to the door, holding it open for Zella and I. We exited, and followed Aadolf to the elevator, which we used to go up a few floors, then egressed. He swept his arm in a grand gesture. "Here's your living spaces." I smiled. Wait...spaces?

"Spaces?" I asked. He nodded.

"Meet your roommate, Hayes." I looked up suddenly. Brilliant smoky-ember eyes met mine.

"Jadzia?"
