Hi! So as you know, I haven't actually written anything in a while...oops. Anyways, here's a little Druig one-shot because I'm in love.

Pairing: eternal!Druig x eternal!fem!reader

Summary: Y/N gets confused when she sees Druig being friendly with Makkari, the same way he's always been friendly with her, she thought she was special

Warnings: Probably just swearing, angst, fluffy at the end, some spoilers for Eternals

Athens // 403 BC // Past

"My beautiful, beautiful Y/N" Druig teased, snatching the beautiful leather book out of her hands.

"Druig! Give that back!" She chuckled, reaching for the book. He held it out of her reach. "What would Ajak say?" He mocked. "You know stealing is against the rules."

"So is interfering with human fights." Y/N remarked, causing Druig to falter. She took the chance to snatch back the piece of literature, clutching it to her chest.

"You wouldn't." He whispered, his tone playfully harsh, eyes narrowing. "I've done things you could never imagine Druig, don't test me." She replied, winking and turning away.

"My beautiful, beautiful Makkari." Druig muttered to her, nudging her shoulder. "Did you miss me?"

Her heart ached. They had never been official. In the thousands of years they had been alive, it was nothing but mindless flirting between the two.

It hurt. She thought they were special, she thought he liked her. But here he was, the same thing he had called her all those years ago, saying it to someone that wasn't her.

She had missed the rest of the conversation, and was only brought back to the present by a hug from Makkari.

Y/N smiled, hugging back. As hurt as she was, she could never hate Makkari. She pulled away, the two girls smiling at each other. How've you been? Makkari signed at Y/N. "I've been good." Y/N replied, smiling a soft smile.

Makkari nodded, releasing Y/N from the hold. Well I'm glad you've all come back. She signed again.

Y/N gave a curt nod and excused herself. She exited the Domo and decided to take a quick walk to clear her head.

She took a deep breath in. As she let her breath out slowly, memories of the past thousands of years flooded through her mind. Her long walks with Druig when they were bored. Him leaving them all that night. The confession.

"Wait! Druig," She called after him. "Please, don't leave me." He turned to face her, his normally blue eyes glazed over by gold.

He outstretched his hand to her. "Come with me Y/N. I'll build a life for us, without pain, or suffering. We can be together." He pleaded.

She slowly shook her head. "I can't just leave my family Druig." She sobbed. "I can't choose you over everyone else."

"Y/N, just join me. I...I love you. Come with me, we can have each other forever, please." He continued, determination pulsing through his body.

She shook her head once more. "I love you too Druig, but I can't, it wouldn't be fair to me." She explained.

Druig lowered his hand. His sad expression quickly replaced by one of stone. "Goodbye, my beautiful, beautiful Y/N." He stated blankly, turning back down the stairs and leaving.

"Y/N?" There it was again. His voice. "Hey are you okay?" He asked, touching her shoulder gently.

Y/N shrugged his hand off and gave a small nod. She was scared that if she said anything she was going to burst into tears.

Silence fell over the two of them for a few moments before she spoke. "Do you really love me?"

Druig's expression never changed. "Always have." He replied, finally giving her a small smile.

She didn't smile back. Instead she frowned. "Then what was that bullshit with Makkari back there?" You confronted, obviously on edge.

"Y/N, listen. I've been trying to move on for the last 500 years. To try and forget that I liked you because I was sure you resented me. I was convinced that you would never want me back. And yet, in those 500 years, all that time trying to clear you from my mind, here I am, standing before you, still madly in love." He ranted, taking one of her hands in his.

She tried blinking back the tears forming in her eyes, only causing them to fall. "I regretted not going with you every day." She admitted. "I was so sure that if I blamed everything on you, while you were forever away, that I would get by without guilt. But every day, there I was, remembering you. I still love you Druig. I was just so sure you didn't love me anymore, or hated me for letting you go." She finished.

"I could never hate you. My beautiful, beautiful Y/N." He assured, connecting their lips at last.

Done! Kinda shitty but oh well, I lost motivation half way through and had to power write the last bit so I could finish it. Hope you enjoyed!
