Gather 'round, travelers. I will tell you a tale that began countless moons ago, too many for your little minds to think of, there were four great Warriors.

There was Storm, with his body strong and his whiskers thin, his eyes amber like fire, and with the loudest roar of them all. His voice could shake mountains, his paws could fell trees. He was the greatest fighter of all.

There was Thorn, the thin, wily warrior, her eyes like thistles and prickles, her claws sharp and her tongue sharper. Her body was dark like shadow, her brain was wired to thinking before she acted. She was quiet, her mind able to solve every problem, and she was the greatest thinker of them all.

Swift was long-legged and lean, her body fit for running. Her ears were large, ready to hear all sounds, and her voice was small. Her paws were soft and quiet, just like the rest of her, and she was the fastest runner the world had ever seen. A warrior of great speed. Her voice could soothe the rivers.

Mist was a fabled beauty, her fur waving in the wind and her body perfectly proportioned. She fished in the rivers and swam with the current, powerful and strong. Her yowl could shake the earth to its core, her fighting stance could put any to shame. She was the greatest strategist, a fighter at heart who knew how to plan.

The final warrior was Snow, with a coat white and prickly as frost. His eyes were harsh and his body was thin, and he could survive in every perilous element. Snow thrived up high, leaping from tree to tree, fast like lightning, and strived to be the best - better than Storm, who he envied with every thought in his brain. Snow was the sharpest, the most cunning warrior of them all.

Long ago, when each warrior lived together, they began to fight. Storm caused great fires and hurricanes, his fury like the force of the blaze. "We should remain together, where we are strongest! Where we can grow and build together, and make our own warriors!" He crowed.

"We should live apart, and take our own homes! Live in different areas where we can grow to our specific strengths!" Thorn screeched above the wind of Storm's fires, her tail whipping in rage.

"It is smarter to grow as one, just like we were born!" Yowled Mist, who had bared her needle-sharp teeth, her paws firmly planted in the earth as the world was covered with a cold blanket.

"We should split into groups, the ones who wish to stay together can, and the ones who wish to leave are able!" Swift desperately tried to heal the rift between her siblings, her tornadoes trying to combat the raging wildfires, but only making the blaze higher.

"We should split apart, create our homes and defend them with our lives! We will die if we remain together!" Snow spat above the rest, his back arched and his ears flat, eyes blazing. He had plunged the earth into a terrible cold, which slowly froze over Mist's precious waters and felled the great fires.

The great warriors fought for many moons, their bodies flashing through the air, blood speckling the ground and running through the rivers. Their perfect world was charred and burnt, covered with the coldest snow, and wrought with hurricane winds. The home they had been born into was ripped to shreds.

The fighting only ceased when Swift showed her siblings the world they had destroyed. Storm fell to his paws and wept, Thorn was silent as stone, Mist began to wail, and Snow was struck speechless. Swift healed the earth with a leap over the heavens and a touch of age old magick.

The siblings finally agreed to disagree. They took apart their misgivings and began to speak.

"I believe we would be stronger together," Storm cheered. "We will raise great colonies of our children, and live in a world that is prosperous and strong."

"We should live apart, everyone taking their own homes. We should split and find out how strong we can be without each other," Thorn meowed.

"We should stay together, for surely the world will be more kind and beautiful if all of us agree?" Mist queried.

"We should strive to stay apart, for we are all different and have our strengths," Snow countered. "We cannot work together, we have already proven that!"

"I think we should all live apart but stay close together, so that everyone can be satisfied," Swift murmured, "So we can work together but still be individual."

This debate carried on for a moon and a half, when finally, all the siblings agreed with their youngest. Swift's idea would be the reigning champion, and so all the siblings agreed to move away - but not too far. They would always be close enough to assist and help if they needed to, but they would still remain apart.

"I will take the land to the North, where there are trees to hide in and grasses to stalk in," Snow declared. "My kin will be the closest cats to the snow and the cold, and will know how to survive when others do not." And so, Snow was the first to leave the group.

"I have chosen the land to the East," Mist proclaimed. "Where there is flat land and plains, with great rivers and few trees, where my kin will see their large expanse of land and be inspired to protect it." And so, Mist was the second sibling to leave.

"I will choose the land to the South-West," Thorn announced. "Where there is sand and sun, where my kin will see the sky above them and be close to their ancestors. Where prey is plentiful across the plains." And so, Thorn was the third to walk away.

"I have taken the territory in the North-West," Storm stated. "Where there are trees and sand, and plains and rocks, where my kin will be the most diverse and the most courageous." And so, Storm was the fourth to make haste across the hills.

Swift swished her tail, alone and quiet. She had chosen the territory in the South-East, where prey was plentiful and water was sweet, where rocks climbed high and waterfalls fell. Where pine trees grew and fish swam. "And I will enforce the land we all use, where we will have our meetings under the light of the full moon - from now until forever." And Swift disappeared into the night.
