"The ritual begins!" the Emperor said, followed by the eerie cheers of the hooded figures gathering in the stands behind them. The emperor raised himself from the ground, revealing every tube which was tied to his figure. "She will strike me down and pledge herself as a Sith."

She looked around frantically, searching for where the feeling was coming from. He was close, so close.

But would he be close enough?

Rey felt hopeless tears gathering in her eyes when the feeling of him went in and out, his feeling getting further away as blaster shots rang out through the tavern.

"She will draw her weapon," he said. Rey slowly reached for Anakin's lightsaber, her hand trembling in fear as the cold metal skimmed her fingers. She removed it from it's belt and gripped it tightly, afraid her sweating palms would make it slip from her hands. Her thumb slipped onto the button and the sound of the blade igniting was almost to loud for her sensitive ears to handle. "And she will come to me."

Rey took a single step when she felt his presence press against her right hand as he used the Force. She took another step, and the pressing sensation went away. "She will take her revenge!"

A tingle ran through her torso, then to her throat, to the side of her head and to her knee. Her legs buckled for a second, but she steadied herself, reaching out for his presence.

"And with a stroke of her sabor, the Sith are reborn!" the Emperor shouted. "The Jedi are dead!"

Then, the loud roaring of waves suddenly stopped and Rey felt her breath catch when she felt him in the depths of the silence ringing through her ear.

And there he was.

His face bloodied and bruised, sweat glinting on his temple. His eyes were so dark but so bright with hope as he stared at her. She blinked, her lightsaber raised to the side of her head, searching his face for him to tell her what to do. She needed guidance.

But all he did was nod.

And that's all she needed.

"Do it," the Emperor snapped. "Make the sacrifice."

With the sound of his voice, Ben blinked out of view, but she could he was there. His presence wrapped around her like a warm blanket, strong and comforting. She knew she couldn't do the same to him, she wasn't strong enough. So, she would give him something else.

She raised her lightsaber, watching as Palpatine closed his eyes, waiting for her strike. But she closed her eyes, her face relaxing as the lightsaber hit disappeared from her fingers. She pulled her hand back into view, opening her eyes to find Palpatine staring at her empty palm with rage filling his eyes.

Rey heard the sound of a lightsaber lighting somewhere into the cavern and the Emperor's white eyes shot over to the sound. She took a step back, reaching for Leia's lightsaber and igniting the blue blade. It illuminated the space around her as the Emperor pulled himself away from her, gritting his teeth as he placed his finger tips to each other.

Rey glared at him for a moment longer before turning to the approaching red knights. She raised the lightsaber and felt Ben's ability working wonders. They fed off of each others strengths, borrowing mental strength and physical strength to get past each others adversary's. Rey blocked a blaster, sending it into another knights helmet. She swung her lightsaber at a guard and was delighted to find Ben had done the same thing, strength surging through the arm which had stabbed. She twirled the lightsaber in her bloodied hand, but she no longer felt the slipperiness of her sweat was a weakness but rather a strength. She forced the button down on the lightsaber, throwing it side arm at a guard which cut his head off clean. She Forced it across the circle of guards to another guard where the laser blade proceeded to block a blast and slice him in half. The red blaster hit another knight and Rey grabbed the lightsaber back, blocking the knight's blow who had been sneaking up on her from behind.

Left, she heard Ben say. She turned to her left and found a knight holding a blaster at her, just about to pull the trigger. She quickly held her hand out and when he did pull the trigger, the gun imploded on itself, the blaster going the opposite direction. She grabbed the crumpled metal blaster and threw it at the last knight with such force he stumbled back into the abyss behind him.

She pressed the button once more and heard Ben do the same, diminishing both lightsabers. She turned towards where his presence was strongest to find him really standing there. His eyes locked with hers and she felt her throat lock. A large gash ran across his forehead, his nose bleed and his lip had split. But, he stood up straight, not stumbling as he walked towards her.

"What a reunion," the Emperor said sourly. Rey turned around from Ben as he approached to see Palpatine lowering himself onto ground level. "But standing together means dying together."

Before Rey could react, Palpatine raised both of his arms, a tempest racing towards them. Rey was ripped back from Ben's presence and she felt pain fly to her head. She let out a heart rattling scream, the throne's energy grabbing onto her minds ropes and tugging as hard as it could. She squeezed her eyes as tight as she could, but felt as if the skin on her face was going to be ripped off of her skull.

But the feel stopped just as quick as it had started and both Rey and Ben were pulled to the feet of the Emperor, the stone of the ground clipping their kneecaps. They were still trapped, unable to move for the invisible force tugging at them. Rey felt a faint throbbing in her chest but it was nothing compared to her mind.

She quickly realized where she was feeling pain in her head, Ben was feeling pain in his torso, as if his heart would be ripped from his ribs any second.

Palpatine let out a surprised gasp as he stared down at his fingers. Rey watched in horror as bone, skin, and muscle all formed back onto the existing nubs, creating fingers.

"The life force of your bond," he said. "A Dyad in the force, a power like life itself," he said. Rey felt her head spinning as she watched nails grow onto the frail fingers. "Unseen for generations."

He looked up, his eyes looking more evil by the second.

"What a waste."

Then, he reached again and Rey's reality was snapped back into perception as the tugging on her head came back. Roaring came to her ears and she cried out in pain, her eyes being tugged at and her gums howling in pain as her teeth physically chattered.

But, that pain soon spread down her throat and to her chest where she had been feeling the ainbefore. It was like nothing she could had ever imagined. Even with her head dizzy and numb, the feeling of her heart being ripped out of her chest was easy to feel. Her ribs clattered against each other, the contents in her stomach jostling up her throat where it began to burn.

Their bond grew weaker by the second and Rey felt her eyelids getting heavy. The pain in her body was lessening by the second as the Emperor's laughs were barely heard in her weakening ears.

Then, it was over. Rey fell backwards, hitting her head hard and she blacked out.
