It was the last day of school, everyone was excited. Fluttershy, however, felt a little strange.

Fluttershy: I dunno about you guys, but I feel a little weird.

Rainbow: Maybe you just have butterflies in your stomach again.

Sunset: What makes you say that, Fluttershy?

Fluttershy: Well, last night, I felt this warm feeling in me.

Pinkie: Maybe someone put an extra blanket on you! Or perhaps Angel just cuddled with you.

Fluttershy: No, Angel was right where I left him.

Twilight: She said in her, not on her.

Rainbow: *Gasp!* Flutters, your hair!

Rarity pulled out a hand mirror and Fluttershy looked into it. A strand of her hair was black.

Fluttershy: *Gasp!* Oh no! What happened?

Rainbow: Perhaps Zephyr (Ugh! He drives me nuts!) played a prank on you last night.

Fluttershy: There's no way he could've done that! He was on a night shift.

Rainbow Dash started laughing.

Rainbow: Zephyr does night shifts?!? I thought he was too lazy to do that sorta thing!!!

No one else laughed. Instead, everyone just glared at Rainbow Dash.

Rainbow: ...C'mon! It's funny!

At school all day, everyone laughed at Fluttershy. She was given names such as "Flutterblack" or "Darkshy" or " Vampire Girl" which isn't a good way to end the school year. She wanted to cry.

Rainbow: Hey! C'mon guys, leave her alone! We don't know how this happened!

Trixie: Really? I'll bet she put permanent dye in her hair. Pink soooooo doesn't go with black.

Rarity: Hmm, she might be right.

Rainbow Dash covered Rarity's mouth.

Rainbow: Please shut up. Don't side with them.

Fluttershy sobbed. Rainbow Dash comforted her.

Rainbow: Don't listen to them, you're fine.

Fluttershy: *sniff* You sure Dashie?

Rainbow: Of course! Why else do you think we're friends?

Fluttershy felt better afterwards. Soon, the school day was over and it was finally summer vacation.

Rainbow: Finally!!!! No more studying, no more homework, no more projects!!!! Just me and the sun!!!!!

Pinkie: Yay!!! I'll be able to plan more parties!!!

Rainbow: Yo Flutters, you still up for hanging out at my place, today?

Fluttershy: Um, I guess so, Dashie.

Later that day, Fluttershy went to visit Rainbow Dash. Rainbow Dash spent majority of their time together reading Daring Do books and watching YouTube videos on her phone.

Rainbow: Hahaha! Flutters, check this out! This is something you can't miss out on!

She showed Fluttershy a funny video.

Rainbow: A little? It's hilarious!

She commented on the video saying:

Me when Applejack beats me in a race. Which, by the way, never happened!!! LOL! 😂 

Eventually, the two started to get bored.

Rainbow: Hey, Fluttershy? Can you sing for me? It's only the two of us.

Fluttershy: Sure, Dashie.

Once again, Fluttershy sang.

However, something odd happened while Fluttershy was singing. While Rainbow Dash was enjoying her singing, she felt sleepy. A black, sparkling mist swirled around her. She breathed into it and almost in an instant, she drifted off into a deep sleep.

Fluttershy: So, do you like it? ...Dashie?

She noticed that Rainbow Dash fell asleep. At first, she thought her singing lulled her to sleep. But normally, Rainbow Dash snores when she sleeps, she wasn't snoring. A couple times, Fluttershy tried to shake her awake, but she wasn't waking up. Something was wrong.
