Nowadays, smoking becomes more common in not only developed countries, but also in developing countries. We have already known that smoking is harmful for our health but many people start it each year. In my opinion, I totally agree with the idea that smoking should be banned completely in our country for several reasons.

To begin with, smoking is injurious to smokers' health. In fact, cigarettes contain over 700 chemical additives, including carbon, nicotine, heavy metals, pesticides... added into a cigarette. They are really dangerous and cause bad effects to smokers, starting with coughing, reducing physical fitness and lung function. People who smoke for a long time can easily be in threat of heart disease, cancer, or even deaths. Moreover, smoking also affects the health of those who breathe the smoke. Second hand smoke is almost as bad for you as actually smoking a cigarette.

Secondly, smoking not only leads so many harmful effects on human body but also wastes money. The cost of a pack of cigarette a day does not seem much, but it is a lot of accumulated to one year. Obviously, money spent on tobacco reduces the one available to spend on food, healthcare, or education.

Finally, smoking affects negatively our society. Kids and teenagers are by far the most vulnerable. They imitate what adults do and prove that they have already grown up. Without money, they have to try many ways to buy cigarettes such as: stealing, robbing... Ones who smoke have no control on thinking. That is why most of the criminals are smokers. Smokers do not have a good ability to differentiate between good and bad things. Hence, they not only pollute not only atmosphere, but also the society... Furthermore, smoking is a short way to lead to other crimes like alcoholism, drug addiction, prostitution and so on.

In conclusion, smoking causes a lot of bad effects to people's health and the society. In my own opinion, our country should ban it for good. It is not easy to stop it completely at once, but if the government starts tightening the law on trading cigarettes and increasing taxes on tobacco or cigarettes, the situation can change a lot. If we are all willing to eliminate smoking as well as other crimes, we can make a better world for our generations.
