I've been watching a lot of videos by a YouTube named Echo Gillette and she made a video about her weird name and people's reactions to it.

And I thought, "I can do that!"

So yeah. This is basically me complaining about my name.

For those of you who just skipped the title of this part, my name is 'Summer'.

I've had only a few people ask me if I was telling the truth

The most common responses I get are either: 

"I bet your favourite season is summer!" No, actually, I prefer Autumn.

Or "Wouldn't it be funny if you were born in the summer?" I am. July 16th. And that answer is almost always followed by, "Is that why you were named summer?" No.

People don't often forget my name, but they do, they almost always call me 'Sunny', which is a name I kind of dislike, actually. Some have even called me 'Sunshine' which is weirder that 'Summer' if you ask me.

I don't have many nicknames based of my real name, but the ones I do have are so uninspired. <Insert current season here>.

I don't think my name is very fitting of me. The name 'Summer' implies that that person would a) like the summer or heat or b) be a fairly happy and social person. I fit neither initial assumptions.

I share my name with a character from Pokemon Ranger: Guardian Signs, a playable character, who's main Pokemon are either Starraptor or a Pichu (I like Pichu cuz he's so cute >u<). [She is pictured above this chapter]

I also share my name with another character from character from Pokemon but as far as I can tell she's not very important.

Another is the lovely Summer from Napoleon Dynamite (I dislike her, but she's pretty), and yet another who's apparently from Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Just googled what traits someone named 'Summer' might have, and the results were:

"People with this name have a deep inner desire to lead, organize, supervise, and to achieve status, power and wealth . . . People with this name are competent, practical, and often obtain great power and wealth. This is more accurate than being happy and crap.
