Confession Description: I think Cedar's really important for young POC girls because a lot of black girls in cartoons or otherwise are shown as "sassy" or "sexy" (neither is bad, just overdone) and it's refreshing to see a black girl who's awkward and adorable instead.
Rebelliously_Yours' Take: I thought so, too! I thought it was so amazing that the AA (African American/POC)'s on the show act-how should I say this?- differently than a lot of the BFCC (Black Female Cartoon Character) stereotype.
As the confessioner put it: awkward and adorable!
Being a "colored" female myself, I used to watch the older (some newer, too) cartoons and while I may have enjoyed them, I sometimes felt as though I really didn't relate to them because I was far from sassy (still am), etc.
I really didn't know how to explain this, does anyone understand what I'm trying to say? Let me know.
Of course, if you have anything else to add, please comment it.
