the next day the servants and his father had gathered in the great hall to wish him well as he started his new school year. "good luck" the staff said smiling at him. his father stepped forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "good luck son do us proud" he said to him. "Um thanks dad" he said., his father had never said anything like that to him before.the few times his father decided to spend time with him it was to tell him off. this was the first time his father had ever said something fatherly to him.

"your bags have been sent to Ever After High already" the butler said. midnight smiled and turned into his swan form which was black with white stripes and flew out the window and began to fly to Ever After High.

it took 8 hours of flying to get to school he landed on a balcony and turned back. "my arms are killing me" he said felling pain in his arms. Ever After High held court on a hill in the centerof a valley, its tower-set banners fluttering in thewind like birthday-candle flames. Below him, midnight could see the Village of Book End, and beyond that,pastures, forests, and mountains ranged out to all thefairytale kingdoms

"hey Black said a familiar voice. Midnight smiled and turned around. he saw Raven Queen daughter of the Evil Queen future poisoner of Forrest fruit and one of Midnight's closest friends. they first met at nursery rhyme school since the kids their thought Raven was going to poison them or curse them and that Midnight would turn them into swans forever after. "Hey R" he said smiling. " mind lending me a hand" she said motioning to her large trunk. "sure R what are friends for" he said helping her left the trunk up. The Three Little Pigs were passing by, carryingtheir clothes tied up in handkerchiefs on the end of poles."hey can you guys help us get this trunk to the dorms" Midnight asked them.

The Pigs turned around with smiles on theirround faces, but when they saw Raven and Midnight, the smiles disappeared. They squealed and hurried away, theirtrotters clacking on the tiles. Midnight rolled his eyes. "somethings never change" Midnight said. to raven. "yeah i guess" Raven said frowning. " cheer up raven its just our destinies to be feared" Midnight said. "easy for you to say you get a happily ever after" Raven said to him. Midnight knew Raven wasn't completely comfortable with her destiny as the next evil queen and he understood that after all who would want to be the most hated of them all. They climbed the stairs to the dorms, careful not to get hit by the heavy trunk they were carrying or accidentally drop it spilling its contents onto the floor. They found a door marked Raven Queen & Madeline Hatter meaning that this was Ravens dorm and her roommate was Madeline Hatter daughter of the Mad Hatter of wonderland. "nice you've got Maddi this year" Midnight said. "yeah maybe this year wont be so bad" Raven said.

"well see ya Raven i,ve got to go find my dorm" Midnight said leaving and waving to his friend.

it took him 6 minutes but he found his dorm and went wide when he saw the name of the person he would be sharing with Midnight Black & Sparrow Hood. Sparrow was the son of Robin hood and always played a guitar rift where ever he went. Midnight put his hands together and prayed Sparrow wasn't in right now. he opened the door preparing to hear a guitar but was surprised to find it quiet. "thank fairy godmother" he signed in relief. he saw on one side was all his bags and started to sing and unpack. after he was done he heard a knock at the door. he opened it and was surprised to see Apple White Daughter of the fairest one of all Snow white. "oh hey apple what are you doing here" he asked. "as president of the royal student council i am personally welcoming everyone back to ever after high" Apple said. ,"oh thats cool i just finished packing i cant wait for legacy day" Midnight said.

"me neither they day where we sign off on out happily ever afters" Apple said smiling. Midnight didn't blame her out of all the happily ever afters the snow white one is the best. "So are you looking forward to becoming a villain" Apple asked. "i guess since i am the only one who gets a happy ending" midnight said.

"yes thats what i never understood about swan lake evil wins and good looses thats not much of a fairy tale" apple said. "well thats because my story isn't a fairy tale its a Ballet but it teaches sadness magic and tragidey" midnight said. "that is true so will i be seeing you at Briars book to school party" Apple asked. "hey if its a Briar party im there" Midnight said. "hexcellent well ill leave you to your unpacking" apple said before leaving. Midnight closed his door and collapsed ointo his bed sighing.

he felt something underneath the mattress he dug underneath it and searched for it and found it. he found a pea under his mattress. "very original" he said before throwing the pea to the other side of the room. he heard a guitar solo and went wide eyed. the door busted open and Sparrow hood came in with his band. "heeeeeey roomie Sparrow hood here to rock this dorm" he said before doing another guitar solo as his band brought in his bags. my happily ever after better be worth it he thought as he tried to drown out the sound of sparrow on his guitar.
