With Saturn, it wasn't falling in love. It was slowly, painfully slowly, realizing that you weren't in love with any of the other boys.

That you didn't really want to spend time with any of the other boys. That you had never looked at them the same way you looked at Saturn. That Saturn, dark, sarcastic Saturn, whom you had known for five years since you moved to this godforsaken little town in which he basically was said God, was the one you thought of when you pictured yourself any time from graduation.

You'd always thought that was normal.

Imagining yourself with your best friend, moving out together, going to university together, living next door to or with each other and complaining about stressful workdays.

Until the night you were getting ready for graduation with Saturn and his sister, watching horror movies in the background, and she shook her head at the main characters who were clearly in love and on vacation together and planning to move in with each other and now slowly getting killed.

"Don't get me wrong, I love my friends. But I'd never want to live with them," she said when Saturn was in the bathroom.
"Just know I'm kicking you out as soon as I inherit the house," he said from directly behind you.
"Know I'm moving out in a month," she said, rolling her eyes at him. "And don't get me wrong, I love you, but eighteen years with you have been enough to last me a lifetime."

Saturn sat down between you, laughing as you hid yourself in his arms at the next jump scare. "You two just don't get murdered while I'm away," his sister said.
