Hey! Wow, chapter ten I can't believe it! We've come this far this fast! Wahoo! And the best part is that we're just getting started! I'm really glad I was able to get this done quickly! POV: Natsu

"But my darling Gray, why will you not tag Juvia back?" Juvia cried while clinging onto Gray's arm. Gray didn't look to annoyed, but that was probably be because he was used to it.

"Cause one: you won't let go! And two: I can't tag you because you tagged me!" Gray pointed out. Juvia started you cry.

"But Juvia wants her precious Gray to tag Juvia back!" She cried while still hanging onto Gray's arm. We had been walking for about an hour since we stopped to take a break. Lucy was in front of me and was giggling at Juvia and Gray. But all of a sudden Lucy stopped walking and I ran into her.

"Oi! Luce, why'd you stop?" I asked and walked around so that I could face her. "Luce?" I asked surprised. Her eyes were big and looked to be filled with fear. I looked down to see that her hands were shaking like she was really cold.

"Can't you feel it?" She asked. Looking me in the eye.

"Feel what?" I asked her. Everyone was surrounding us looking at Lucy with worry.

"The magic energy?" She said looking behind me. "The tree, we're close." She practically whispered while walking passed me, and back in the direction that we were already going. Levy ran after Lucy, who was walking incredibly fast to where we were all running after her. After a little while Levy was practically breathless from sprinting after Lucy.

"Wait Lucy what are you talking abo-" Levy started but gasped, and stopped running. After we were by her side we all stopped as well, surprised to feel this enormous amount of magic energy.

'It feels like a monster is trying to claw my insides out!'

"What the hell?" Gajeel said. "Is a puny tree really making all of this magic energy?"

"Wait a second!" Erza yelled. "Didn't the mayor say that there was beasts in these woods?" We all nodded.

"Then where are they?" Gajeel asked. "Cause we haven't seen shit this whole time, and I want to fight something!" I smiled, feeling the same way.

"Didn't the mayor say they were attracted to the tree?" Gray asked. Then something clicked inside my head. I gasped and my eyes widened at realization.

"What is it Natsu?" Happy looked at me and asked. I looked at the group.

"Lucy." I whispered. Everyone got the same look on their faces.

"Oh shit!" Gray yelled. The next thing I knew we heard a loud, in pain, scream.

"Lucy!" We all yelled and took off running towards the scream. When the tree line finally came to view, there was a huge meadow. With roots sticking out of the ground everywhere, and they all connected to the magical tree that was in the very center. It's height made it look like it was touching the clouds.

"You think that's puny?" Levy asked Gajeel. I heard a loud roar to my left, and standing there was Lucy that was fighting a beast, with her whip, that looked like it was related to a snake, time six. It was huge.

"What in the hell is that?" Erza yelled. It had a human torso that blended from tan to a deep dark green on the lower part of the torso, and led to a long tail, and it had the same long dark green snakes for its locks. Lucy must have spotted us and looked over at is for a split second and that's when the snake thrusted her tail downwards on Lucy.

"Lucy!" I yelled.

POV: Lucy

"But Juvia wants her precious Gray to tag Juvia back!" Juvia cried while holding onto Gray's arm, like it was the only thing keeping her alive. But then again, it's Juvia. We had been walking for a while since we stopped to take a break. Natsu was behind me and giggling a bit at how annoying Juvia was being to Gray. But Gray didn't look like he minded much for some reason

'I wonder if he likes Juvia?'

All of a sudden I felt this massive amount of magic energy, that pushed me to a hult and Natsu ran into my back.

"Oi! Luce, why'd you stop?" Natsu asked and walked around so that he could see my face. "Luce?" He asked with his face filled with surprise and worry. But he had every right to be worried, I probably looked like a mad person. My eyes were wide and this amount of magic scared me.

"Can't you feel it?" I asked him. Looking him straight in the eye.

"Feel what?" He asked me. Everyone was behind Natsu looking at me with worry.

"The magic energy?" I asked looking behind the group. "The tree, we're close." I practically whispered while walking passed everyone in a hurry, and back in the direction that we were already going.

'That tree! There's something wrong about this tree! And this mission! Ever since we left the morning I keep feeling like I need to go back, but I'm not going to! I'm going to fight!'

I heard someone running after me and it took them awhile to catch up.

"Wait Lucy what are you talking abo-" Levy started but stopped and gasped. Everyone else must have caught up to Levy because I heard more gasps from behind me. But I didn't stop, I kept walking towards the growing amount of magic that was in the air. There was so much of it that it felt like it was making it hard to breath.

When I finally came to an opening in the trees I walked out from behind the trees there was a huge meadow with roots sticking, either high or low, out of the ground everywhere, and all the roots connected to the magical tree that was in the very center of the opening in the woods. It's height was easily, much bigger than most mountains.

"Well, well, well. What do we have here?" I heard a female voice hiss. Literally. I turned to look only to be hit by something really big, and really heavy. I was thrown back into a root but went through that and a few more. I cried out in pain as my muscles clenched. I looked up to see a young girl no older than me. But she wasn't a regular girl, she was mostly snake. Her upper body looked just like an average human, except for some dark green scales on her arms and at her collar bone. Along with dark green snakes for her hair. With a dark green bikini top that matches her scales. I look down to see that the rest of her body was a long dark green tail.

"Who are you?" I demanded. She smiled and showed me her fangs.

"My name is Medusa. And I am here to protect this tree!" She hissed and her tongue slithered out between her teeth.

"Well I came here with a mission!" I yelled, while standing up. "And I intend to finish that job!" I grabbed my whip and whipped it at her and barely missed her.

"Well that's a shame, because you're not going to live to see that happen." And she swing her tail at my head and I ducked.

"We'll see about that!" I swung my arm in her direction with the whip following. Out of the corner of my eye I saw a bright flash of color. I looked towards it and standing there was the everyone, Natsu was in the front. But I made a bad decision to look away from Medusa, because she thrusted get tail down, and her heavy tail took me down with it.

"Lucy!"
