POV: Natsu

I heard something, it was crying. I opened my eyes to see that Juvia was in Gray's arms crying, Levy was in Gajeel's arms, and Mira in Laxus's. And I also saw that everyone that was in Shadow Fang was on the ground.

'What the hell just happened?'

I slowly started to sit up and rubbed the back of my head.

"Ugh. . . what happened?" I asked. For a moment everyone froze, not moving or crying. And then they all slowly turned to look at me. After a few moments I saw a little blue thing come running at me, jump at me, and then it tried to strangle me.

"Natsu!!!" Happy sobbed. I hugged him back.

"Happy!" I said cheerfully. "Happy what's going on? Why is everyone crying?" He didn't look at me and neither did anyone else. "What happened?" I asked again more seriously.

"Natsu . . . ." Levy started but had to stop because she started to cry again.

"What's the last thing you remember?" Gray asked. I thought back to the last thing I could remember.

Flash Back:

I grabbed Lucy and wrapped my arms around her torso and she wrapped her arms around my neck.

"Lucy!" I cried into her chest. By now everyone in the guild was waking up from Levy's tornado. Fairy Tail and Shadow Fang guild members were standing around looking at us.

"I'm home!" Lucy yelled for everyone in Fairy Tail to hear. Everyone heard and cheered.

"You!" I heard Kiara say from behind Lucy. She groaned.

"Kiara." Lucy growled and she stood up. I tried to keep a hold of her because I didn't want to let her go. But she pulled away anyway.

"Pure Universe Dark Soul Fire Dragon: Roar!" Kiara yelled and her black flames came racing at Lucy. Lucy smiled as she didn't move from where she stood but raised her arm up in front of her with her palm facing Kiara. The flames blasted into her hand and evaporated at the touch.

"I'm not going to let you touch them!" Lucy yelled in determination as she stood up from my grip.

"Lucy, you're hurt!" I said standing in front of her, blocking Lucy's view of Kiara. "Let us handle this."

"Natsu. You can't!" She said, with a little fear in her eye. "You wont be able to harm her! Her magic is much more powerful than you think! And weren't you listening? If you hurt her, you hurt me!" I looked down at the ground.

"I-I know." He whispered. "But we also can't let her go. God knows what she'll do to herself, just to hurt you." She grabbed my hand.

I flew forwards as I felt a sharp burning pain hit my in the back.

"Natsu!" Lucy yelled as she caught me. "You! What did you do?" Lucy yelled at Kiara.

"I poisoned him."

"Lucy!" I choked out as I grabbed a hold of her wrist. "I'm not leaving you! Not again!" I cried, part of it was from the pain of the poison, but most of it was because I felt like I was about to lose her again. Lucy looked at me and smiled.

We were about to walk out the guild doors and I looked at Lucy and she looked at me as tears started to run down her face, like she knew this wasn't going to end well. And then the guild doors closed.

"The last thing I remember is me being poisoned and us walking out of the guild." I said. Gray took a deep breath and looked at the ground. "Where's Lucy?" I felt Happy tense up in my arms and everyone else did the same.

"Natsu. . . ." Erza said as her, Gray, Juvia, Gajeel, and Levy scooted closer together to keep me from seeing behind them.

"Where is she?" I almost yelled as I put Happy down and stood up. They all looked at each other and then moved out of the way. My eyes widened as I saw what was out in front if me.

'No! Please God no!'

I ran forwards towards a blonde girl in a white and gold dress. I slowed down as I got closer to her, and when I stopped I saw that her hand that had her guild mark was over her heart and that she was smiling. My eyes burned with tears. I fell to the ground on my knees.

"Lucy?" I whispered reaching my hand out to touch her. I grabbed a hold of her shoulders and shook her a little. "Luce, p-please . . . . . please wake u-up." I heard grumbling come from Kiara a few feet away. She sat up and looked at her hands and felt her face.

"She did it." Kiara said smiling. "She did it! I'm fre-!" Kiara looked up towards Lucy and her smile instantly vanished. She looked at me and tears started to form in her eyes. "Is she . . . .?" I nodded not wanting to say anything. Kiara nodded and stood up and walked towards the group to give me some time. After a few more minutes of me sobbing, I heard foot steps come up behind me.

"Natsu." Gray said. "Natsu . . . we need to move her."

"N-no." I said, shaking my head.

"Natsu, you have to except it." Gray said sniffing. "She's gone this time."

"No!" I yelled. "She's can't be dead! She never gives up! She has never given up on us! So why should we give up on her?"

"Because Natsu!" Gray yelled. "She's really dead this time!"

"How do you know!" I screamed turning towards him.

"Because I watched her die!!!" He screamed back. "We all did Natsu! We watched the light burn out in her eyes as she fell to the ground, smiling! She was smiling because she knew that she finally saved us! That she was going to die, successfully!"

"Is that what you did?" I asked him. "Was watch? How could you stand there and do nothing?"

"Shut up!" Gray yelled. "You have no idea how bad I felt! To just stand there and watch! But there was nothing that me or anybody else could do! And now, I feel awful because I just stood there and watched some one, who I saw as a sister, kill herself, just to protect us a second time." I turned back to Lucy's body, not knowing what to say.

"Come on Natsu." Erza said, walking up next to Gray as did Juvia, Gajeel, and Levy. "You need to let her go."

"No." I said shaking my head as I gripped her hand that didn't have her guild mark on it.

"Natsu." Erza said walking forward and grabbed onto my shoulder.

"No!" I yelled as I pulled my shoulder away from her. Erza sighed.

"Gray." Erza whispered. Then, Gray and Erza grabbed a hold of my arms and started to dragged me away from Lucy's body.

"No! Lucy!" I screamed, struggling against them. "Lucy! Please! Please Lucy come back to me!"

POV: ???

I opened my eyes to see that I was laying on the floor. I sat up and looked around. On one side of me there was a large wall of flames, and on the other there was a white door.

"Hello sweetheart." A sweet voice said. I looked in front of me. And there stood my mom.

"Mom?" I asked. I stood up and ran at the young blonde. And hugged her tightly. "What's going on? Where am I?"

"Your in the Halfway." She said. "Halfway between life, and halfway between death."

"I-I'm dead?" I asked pulling away from my mother.

"No. Not yet." She said. "That is going to depend on your choice."

"My choice? How?" I asked.

"You can either go back home." My mom said pointing to the flames. "Or accept death, and move on." She finished as she pointed to the door.

"My choice?" I asked as I started to walk towards the flames.

"Yes." She answered. "But remember this. If you choose to go back, there is a large chance you probably won't wake up." I thought about what she said for a moment.

"What do you mean I might not-?" I asked turning around to see that she was gone. "Mom?"

'It's your choice.'

Her voice whispered in my head. I turned my attention back to the flames.

'I could go back! I could keep living! I could finally tell Natsu how I-!'

I started to think to myself, but stopped.

'No I can't, because he's dead.'

I turned my head towards the door. I started walking towards it and when I was a few feet away I reached my hand out to grab the door knob. But something told me to stop. So I stopped moving, and looked back at the flames.

'I'll miss Fairy Tail.'

I grabbed a hold of the door and slowly started to open it. A white light traveled from the other side.

"No! Lucy!" I heard a voice scream. I immediately stopped moving and even stopped breathing.

"Natsu!" I whispered to myself as I turned back to the flames. And through the fire I could see him. "Natsu!" I said a little louder.

"Lucy! Please! Please, come back to me!" He screamed again. I let go of the door and it slowly continued to open. I ran at the flames but before I reached them I stopped. "Pure Universe Light Soul Water Dragon: Roar!" My water attacked the flames until all that was left was steam, and soon after that the steam cleared, I saw him. "Natsu!"

"Lucy!" He said and I ran towards him and jumped into his arms and we spun in circles. And once we stopped I opened my eyes and looked over Natsu's shoulder to see the door side open with my mother standing there smiling.

'Good choice.'

She said in my head and slowly closed the door.

'Until I see you again, Lucy. I love you so much.'

And with that she closed the door and I closed my eyes, squeezing Natsu tighter.

'I love you too, mom.'
