It has taken me FOREVER, but I'm updating again! WHOO!!! :D

"Natsu!" Lucy's scream rang through the air as she was carried away, thrown over the shoulder of some wind magic user.

"Lucy!" I ran after them as fast as I could, though I was no match for the wind user's speed. "Damn it!" Happy was out for the count, so there was no chance of flying after them. He had snuck up on us, taking us completely by surprise when he attacked. Whoever he was, he must have known mine and Lucy's fighting styles pretty well, going immediately for our weaknesses. He threw a stink bomb down to overwhelm my sensitive nose while he knocked out Happy and separated Lucy from her keys. After that, he grabbed her and took off, leaving me without a way to go after him.

I lost sight of them when he flew over a patch of trees. By the time I reached the other side, he had disappeared with Lucy. I cursed angrily, trying to pick up her scent. After several frustrating minutes of walking around, I finally managed to find it. It was faint, but it was just enough to lead me to her.

"That didn't take as long as I expected," the wind user chuckled as I found him. Lucy had been thrown into some sort of box made out of runes, and there was another wizard here as well, most likely the one who set up the runes trapping her.

"Let me out of here!" She shouted, pounding on the wall of her prison. "Natsu, kick their butts!"

"Are you alright, Luce?" I asked her.

She nodded, giving me a determined look, "I'm fine, just hurry up and kick their butts so I can get out of here."

I grinned, cracking my knuckled as flames engulfed my fists, "you don't have to tell me twice!"

I went for the wizard controlling the runes first, wanting to free Lucy. He was fast, though, and dodged my attack. He retaliated with one of his own, and I barely had time to roll out of the way before a rune caused the ground to collapse.

The wind user took advantage of my distraction to send a spell at me. It hit, sending me rolling across the ground. "You guys are really starting to piss me off," I growled, getting to my feet. "Let Lucy out of that box right now, or I'm going to burn you both to a crisp!"

"That's big talk for someone who's losing," snickered the wind user.

"Oh yeah? Well, not for long," I smirked. "I'm all fired up, now!" Before either of them had time to react, I released my Fire Dragon's Roar. They went down, taking the full power of my attack.

The run-box around Lucy disappeared, and she ran to me. I caught her as she jumped at me and wrapped her arms around my neck. The hug was short, cut off when she suddenly pulled away and asked how Happy was doing. "He'll be fine," I reassured her. "Once he wakes up, he'll be good as new."

She let out a relieved sigh. "I'm glad. I was worried about the little guy."

"I grabbed these, too," I smiled, holding up her keys.

"My keys!" She grabbed them, holding them tightly against her chest. "Aquarius would have killed me if I lost her again!"

"So, want to head back?" I asked.

She nodded, smiling at me. "You know, Mira's never going to let you live this down, right?"

I groaned, "don't remind me." I had finally worked up the nerve to ask Lucy out, and we had been on our first date when those assholes had attacked us. We hadn't even made it an hour into the date when they showed up.

"It's not too late to go out to dinner somewhere," she chuckled. "I was kidnapped today, so I think a nice restaurant is well-deserved. As soon as Happy wakes up and is feeling better, we can all go."

"I can't believe our first date turned out like this," I sighed as we walked back to Lucy's apartment.

"Really?" She snorted, "because I'm not surprised at all."

"Thanks," I huffed.

She giggled, "I wouldn't expect anything less from you, though. At least things are never boring."

I chuckled. "That's a good way to see it."

"And besides," she continued, "I know no matter what, you'll always be there to come to my rescue."

I grinned. "Always."
