Okay so if you came here from my last ranting book then you know Gale is my favourite pairing in fairy tail, and that's still the case, and it seemed impossible but I love it even more then I did now, and I'll explain why. First off all this is the most developed ship in my opinion, the romantic feelings they had were built on, and at first there interactions were more based on Gajeel proving himself that he was a good person and almost him apologising to her in a way, and you can see that through when he protected her from Laxus attack, that wasn't out of love it was out of redemption. During the thunder legion arc we can see that Gajeel was growing respect for Levy, which is good development for Gajeel and the Gale ship, as at first Gajeel didn't respect many of his guild mates but he did respect Levy. During the Tenrou island arc is where they start to have these romantic feelings and even then it's not over the top or empathised to much, and it comes more from Levy's perspective, but you can still start to see that Gajeel cares for Levy differently to other guild mates and he seems to show more affection towards her compared to other guild mates, and Gajeel didn't even think so himself that he's the type of person to fall in love. And this is especially shown through the manga, I'm putting a spoiler sign so if you haven't read the manga then skip past to when I say spoilers end.

So in the manga there's one scene in particular that made me love this ship even more and love the development it had gone through from Gajeel attacking Levy and crucifying her to Gajeel  saying that he's a changed person thanks to Levy and how he regretted the messed up stuff he's done and how now he's learning what it's like to fall in love with someone and he even said he wanted to start a family with her as he started to pass away, and he even said he only wished he could spend more time with her, and to me that was really inpactful  to hear that coming from someone like Gajeel, and Levy's reaction was equally as powerful she couldn't stop crying and in his "last moments" she proved to him how much stronger her magic got and how not only himself but how she had become a stronger person to.

Another reason why I love this relationship so much, is because they both give each other such great character development, and they didn't even need a moment every single episode or chapter to do that. I'm glad they don't have loads of screen time because it means none of their moments feel forced or wrote badly. I really like how the couple was based of this idea of redemption and it gives screen time to two really underrated characters, some people may not consider Gajeel underrated but I feel like he is compared to other characters, I mean I might even get hate for this but I prefer Gajeel over Natsu and Gray. And it's mostly because of who he became and Levy helped him become a greater person but he also developed on his own and vice versa with Levy. I could go on and on about this ship from the inpactful moments to the funny ones and the nicknames and the teasing. And some people may not think its the greatest relationship because they tease and argue sometimes but any natural relationship will tease each other and will argue sometimes, and the whole crucifying thing at the start but Gajeel regretted that so much,but it's your opinion of you don't like it.Also don't even get me started on the fan art that is adorable!
