A/N: I thought this chapter was kind of short, I'll try my hardest to create a new chapter and get it out tomorrow ;3

[ Normal POV ]

Asriel picked up Frisk's lifeless body and began to run home as quickly as he could through the piling snow.

He kept repeatedly calling her name, hoping for any response she might give. She never said a word.

As soon as he caught sight of their home, he ran in, placed her gently on the couch, and covered her in blankets.

Toriel threw wood in the fire place and lit it to warm her, prepared a hot meal, then waited anxiously next to Asriel.

Frisk's breathing was quick and uneven. She looked as if she was in a constant state of pain, and there was nothing either of the two bystanders could do. Toriel clung tightly to Asriel, both of them praying for their loved one's safety.

"Asriel, what if she doesn't wake up? What if we lose her? What if-" The mom panicked.
"Mom, everything will be fine. After all, she's got your stubborn spirit, doesn't she?"

Toriel chuckled as tears began to blur her vision. Asriel held her tighter and turned to look at his sister.

He wouldn't lose her after everything had been so peaceful for such a long time. He owed her this- all the times she sacrificed herself for him, all the times she forgave him, all the times she died at his hand.

At that rate, it had felt like morning would never come.

. . .

Frisk awoke with a stabbing pain piercing her chest, but the sensation was covered momentarily by a more pleasant one. She felt a warm blanket of fur encase her body, the feeling was all too familiar.

The young girl forced her eyes open, only to be met with the face of her dear brother, Asriel.

He had multiple bags under his eyes and appeared to be having a nightmare. She peaked around him and found Toriel sitting on a rocking chair with the same expression.

"As...riel. Asriel, wake up." Frisk's voice was scratchy and her throat burned. She begged for some type of relief for the constant pain coursing through her veins, but knew her current position wouldn't allow her.

When she turned to look at her brother once more, she was met by his worried green eyes.

Asriel immediately jumped up from the couch they had both been on; his face was a mix of various emotions- concern, embarrassment, surprise. At this point, Frisk could read her older brother like an open book.

She watched as he fumbled over his words, she felt guilty. Her older brother was about to become a prince in a few days, and she was only causing him more stress.

In reality, Asriel would've given up anything for Frisk. Whether it was the crown or even his life, she would always be top priority. He had loved her for so long, and had no intentions turning back.

. . .

[ Frisk's POV]

Asriel helped me to my feet seeing as how my limbs still felt numb from the previous night. Neither of us bothered to wake Toriel, she looked beyond exhausted.

The both of us fumbled into the kitchen, searching for something to help my struggling throat. He led me to a chair to wait while he sorted through possible options.

"Is Golden Flower Tea alright?" I nodded contently, the flavor had been my brother's, as well as my father, Asgore's, favorite drink.

He returned with the hot beverage in hand and watched as I carefully began to drink.

As soon as my lips left the glass, my throat felt immediately relieved. Asriel looked pleased with my expression, and went to make some of the tea for himself and our mother.

While I sat alone in the dining room, I heard my phone go off to my surprise at such an early hour. I smiled as I looked at the caller's name.

Frisk: Hello?

???: AH HUMAN! DID YOU ARRIVE HOME IN A SAFE MANOR? WE WERE WORRIED!

I thought for a minute, knowing that if I told him about my incident, he'd freak out.

Frisk: We're fine Papyrus. That snow was really bad, but Asriel kept me safe.

Papyrus: DON'T I KNOW IT! SANS WOULDN'T EVEN READ ME A BEDTIME STORY HE WAS SO WORRIED ABOUT YOU!

Frisk: Really? Sans?

Papyrus: IN FACT, HE WAS THE REASON I CALLED IN THE FIRST PLACE! HE WOULD LIKE TO SPEAK WITH YOU OVER THE TELEPHONE!

Frisk: A-Alright. I'll talk to you later then, Papyrus.

Papyrus: I INTEND TO BE TALKING WITH YOU SOON AS WELL!

The line went silent for a moment and I could hear quiet bickering in the background.

Sans: h-heya kiddo.

Frisk: Hey Sans, are you alright?

Sans: i'm pretty alright, tibia honest.

I giggled at his irritable pun then put the phone back to my ear. In the next room over, I could hear Asriel and Toriel talking about my condition.

Sans: anyway kid, are you really alright? that snow storm was one of the worst in a long time.

Frisk: Yeah, there's nothing wr-

Within a second, my throat began to burn and my voice ceased as multiple coughs escaped my throat. My body was so unsteady that I dropped my phone. I could hear Sans yelling on the other side of the phone as both Toriel and Asriel rushed to assist me.

I had blacked out, again.

Knowing that Sans always has your back fills you with determination.
