chapter 25: marius's arrival

~marius~

I feel relieved the moment we get off the plane, not having to deal with that annoying man anymore. He would complain when Harlow or Fern made even the slightest bit of noise. At one point, Harlow was laughing at a show she was watching, and that man still complained about it.

Thankfully, no one else seemed to mind Harlow and Fern. In fact, one other passenger in first class even told that man to shut up because he's making a lot more noise than the twins. That got him to stop complaining.

We still have another flight to take; we just have about an hour layover here in Germany before heading to Spain. It's ten in the morning here, but back home in the time zone we're used to, it's only one in the morning so Harlow and Fern are fast asleep.

At least we won't have to worry about the Harlow wanting to run all around the airport. She's just sleeping comfortably in my arms while Fern is in Fawn's.

Unfortunately, the complaining man is sitting in the same area as us so it looks like he might be on the same connected flight to Spain instead of just staying here. If he somehow finds a way to complain even though the twins will most likely be asleep the entire time, I will book a private flight for my family back home just so I don't have the misfortune of somehow flying with him back home. Or flying with anyone else who feels like they should complain whenever the twins make the smallest of noises.

It's not long before we're called to board the flight. This one is a lot shorter than the one here, only being about five hours. We're in first class once again and the sections are similar to the ones on the way here, just with a few decorative differences. We still have the chairs that turn into beds so the moment we take off and are allowed to take off our seatbelts, Fawn and I turn the two chairs into beds so we can also sleep comfortably for a bit.

It's going to take some time to get adjusted to the new time zone so it might be smarter to try to stay awake on this flight, but the twins aren't going to adjust to the time zone right away since they're already following their sleep schedule back home. We're going to have to adjust together.

Harlow wakes up four hours into the flight, letting her body adjust to being awake before she decides to wants to look out the window. I'm still tired, but I did sleep for a bit so I turn the bed back into a chair so we can both sit on it and look out the window.

But Harlow gets bored easily so she then wants to watch some TV. I find a movie for her so she sits back and enjoys it.

When the airplane is close to its descent, I wake up Fawn so he can put the bed back to a seat. Fern wakes up at this point, crying for a few seconds before Fawn is able to calm down. I expect the grumpy man to come over to complain, but he doesn't. Thankfully.

It's not long before we soon land, meaning soon enough we will finally be at our hotel and can relax for a bit. We'll probably take the entire day to just relax since we've got to adjust to the time zone. We still have a few days to explore anyway.

After getting our luggage, a shuttle takes us to the hotel, which is a beachfront hotel so it will be a quick trip to the beach whenever we want to go. I imagine the twins will want to go a lot since they both love the beach.

Our hotel room is a presidential suite, complete with its own balcony that has a jacuzzi. Harlow immediately wants to check out the balcony, so I take her to do so. Before I let her walk around it, I crouch down in front of her. "Harlow, you're not allowed to come here by yourself," I say. "If you want to come on her, you have to ask Poppa or Daddy, okay?"

"Otay," Harlow says. The balcony isn't too big, but it's enough to interest her, mainly because of the view. It overlooks before the ocean and the pool area of the hotel. Harlow points towards the ocean. "Beach!"

"Later," I say. "Poppa and Daddy want to rest for a bit. Are you hungry? We can get some food?"

       Harlow nods. "Food, please."

We walk back into our suite where Fawn and Fern are already lying on the king sized bed, watching a movie on the TV that's directly across from the bed. The sight in front of me completely warms my heart. Fern and Fawn have a very strong connection as father and daughter. Whenever we're out together as a family, Fern is always glued this his side.

"I'm going to order some room service," I tell Fawn.

"Ooh, perfect, I'm hungry," Fawn says. "I just don't want to get up."

"Don't worry, I don't want to leave the suite for a while," I say. I find the menu for room service and sit down beside Fawn on the bed. Harlow climbs up as well, sitting on my lap. After deciding what we want, I place the order. I even order a bit extra for us to store in the fridge just in case we get hungry later on.

We spend the entire day in the suite since we're all extremely jet lagged. The twins don't mind. Fern would rather just lie on the bed, watching TV or colouring. Harlow keeps walking around the suite, finding interest in even the smallest of things. First the empty fridge, then one of the tables, then another one of the beds, then the bathroom, then the fridge again. At least she's occupied.

_______________

the twins obviously don't have a favourite parent since they love both of their dads, but fern is more connected to fawn and harlow is more connected to marius. they'll probably end up growing up to be their mini-me's tbh.
