The ride home was awkward. Mark drove, Felix in the passenger seat, and I was left to sit in the back. The car was silent. Mark would always turn up the radio to see if his favorite song came on. But he didn't do it. All we could here was the road the tires were driving on and the cars passing us by. "So..." I said uncomfortably. I glanced up at the rear view mirror to see if Mark would reply. He still kept his eyes on the road as if he were thinking of something. I just gave up all my efforts to start a conversation and looked outside the car window. Minutes that felt like hours slowly trudged by as we finally got to Felix's house. Luckily, Marzia's car wasn't there. Felix got out of the car and I sat in the passenger seat. I stared into his piercing blue eyes before Mark whipped out of the driveway.

What's up with Mark? That was the only question swirling around my head. Did I say something? When we got to Mark's house I sat on the couch but he kept going towards his gaming room. "I'll be recording." He said bluntly. He even left before I could say anything else. My heart broke. What did I do?!? As I watched a new season of my favorite tv show, I could here the screams of Mark's jumpscares. I grinned but it quickly faded when I thought of something. I rapidly picked up my phone and dialed in a number. It rang once until I heard a happy voice. "Hey, adopted one!" Matthias said in a tone unlike the last time I heard him speak to me. "Hey, sorry I didn't call you back. Things been.....busy."
"Nah that's fine."
"You sure?"
"Yeah! I mean, no earthquake attack us so we're good to go."
There was an unwanted pause.
"So Matt, about the uh..."
"Baby?" He finished.
"Yeah," I felt ashamed that I couldn't finish the sentence with ease.
"Is it a boy or girl?" I asked. He just sighed while Mark screamed even more.
"Is that...Mark?" Matt asked confused.
I rubbed my tired and strained eyes.
"Yep,"
"Okay, anyway. Amanda said she wants it to be a surprise but she's thinking on changing that...You know the saying. 'Happy wife, happy life'"
Both Matthias and I laughed. It was cool how we sounded the same. We talked for about another 30 minutes and we left it at that. As we said our goodbyes I yawned and realised I was tired. I was gonna give Mark a goodnight hug but all my happy thoughts came to an end when I saw a motionless Markiplier on the floor.
