Before, the universe was empty. There was only darkness, so God decided to make light, and, therefore, there was light. With it, He created beautiful beings to fill in the emptiness of the vast space.

Others might name these "beings" gods or goddesses, some might even call them angels, but what they are really called are "creatures." These creatures take care of the universe, especially the stars, while their King (God) watches over them as He resides in the brightest star that we now call Sun.

Among these creatures is the lovely Earth. She loves to dance around the different stars and sing songs as she flies across different galaxies.

Once, when she was doing her usual dance around a star, she heard an unfamiliar voice speak to her. "Excuse me," said the voice. She stopped dancing, turned around, and saw another creature coming close to her. "I think you're guarding the wrong star. This star has been assigned to me."

"Really? My mistake. I'm sorry." Ahe apologized, then turned her back at him; but when she was getting ready to walk away, she once again heard him speak.

"You're the one called Earth, right?" he asked.

She looked back at him. "Yes."

"I am Moon, and I have heard a lot about you. The other creatures have been talking about you and your... weird way of guarding. I mean, your movement... just like earlier, when I saw you..."

"You find that weird?"

"Well..."

"And please don't call it a movement; it's called 'dancing'."

"Dancing?"

"Yes. Dancing."

"So, when I move in circles, I am already dancing?"

"No!" She giggled. "When you dance, you don't just move, you have to feel the music." She went closer to him and started humming. She moved her arms gracefully, and then slowly turned around. Moon was awed by Earth's beautiful dancing accompanied by her voice. He tried to feel the music, just as Earth has said, started moving around her, mimicking her motions. Soon, they were both dancing.

Every now and then, Earth and Moon would visit each other. They would fly together and guard the same star. Many times, they would dance with the songs that Earth sings. It was not long after that both Moon and Earth fell deeply in love with each other.

Theirs could have been such a perfect love story, for they love each other so purely, if not only Evil got along their way.

Evil was a creature who wanted Moon for herself. She despised Earth, especially the other creature's kind heart. Brimming with jealousy, Evil sought to destroy Moon's lover.

One time, when Earth was alone sitting on a star, Evil, with her powers that came from extreme envy, called forth two gigantic stars and used them to crush the unsuspecting Earth.

By that time, Moon was guarding a different star. He was startled to hear a 'big bang' on the other end of the galaxy and was suddenly worried about his lover. He rushed towards Earth's star.

The creature was devastated when he saw the fragments of stars floating around his beloved and Earth's body was slowly turning into a planet. For creatures, becoming a planet is the same as dying. Moon desperately reached out a hand towards Earth, but Earth's body could not move anymore.

Moon decided to come to God, their King, and report Evil's action. "My Lord, my love Earth is now dead. She already turned into a planet."

"Indeed, a planet she has become. But I do not think she has stopped living." The mighty King waved His hand. From afar, Moon could see planet Earth slowly having shades of white and blue and brown and green. "A lovely planet, your beloved Earth is. She is still alive. Her love for you made her turn into a living planet."

Evil, who was currently eavesdropping, went even more furious at the moment she heard those words. Blinded by her uncontrollable rage, she went back to planet Earth to completely destroy her, but God did not let her: "You, Evil, have done something wrong!" Evil's body started to dissolve into nothing but a mist. But before her complete disappearance, Evil used all her powers to cast Earth into a dark side of the universe. She made it so that when the planet turns around, a part of her would always be covered in darkness.

Feeling the unbearable hurt in his heart, Moon begged God for a favor. Later, the creature was turned into something smaller than a planet--even smaller than planet Earth. He placed himself beside Earth and made sure that whenever a part of Earth is in the dark, Moon, with the stars that they both once guarded, would always serve as her light.

Earth became happy when she realized that Moon was still there for her. And as a gift, God even made another set of creatures for her: "these would be called 'human'," He said, "and they would take care of Earth."

This is the story of the planet Earth where we live now. She is still alive. Her voice is still heard within the sound of the wind, and she sheds her tears whenever she felt sad through the rain. As for her lover, Moon, he has been dancing with her ever since; for whenever Earth turns around, Moon always moves around her. Just like what they have always been doing before.
