"Who's going to get that trophy this year?!"

"WE ARE!"

The village members roared with cheers as they jumped around high-fiving each other. I furrowed my brows, staring at them with confusion. After I went back to my house to clean the poop off my shoe; Taehyung had dragged me here to the village leader's back garden for an 'exciting' event that was coming up.

"Can you now tell me what's going on?" I whispered to Taehyung, who was standing beside me.

"The Annual Village Athletics Competition is next week!" he cheered excitedly.

I gave him a blank look to show that I did not share his excitement.

"It's a day when neighbouring villages gather together and compete with one another. The winner gets a trophy and money to fund the village," explained Taehyung.

"Well that sounds boring," I replied, "Count me out."

I turned on my heels to head back home, but he quickly blocked my path.

"You can't leave this," he said, "This is a perfect opportunity for you to build your relationship with the villagers."

I let out a frustrated groan and darted him a glare.

"Noona come join us!"

I turned around to see who the high-pitched voice belonged to. Yosub was shaking a spoon in the air and jumping around to get my attention. Taehyung gently pushed me towards the little boy from behind. I turned around and scowled at him but he only chuckled.

"Me and Taejun are doing the egg and spoon race!" shouted Yosub, despite the fact that I was standing right in front of him now.

Taejun shyly waved at me with his spoon and I smiled back at the mini-Taehyung. I looked around at the hectic scene in the garden. The village leader was assigning everyone an event to do, occasionally the elders would protest to show their dissatisfaction.

"Why am I doing the three-legged race again?" protested Jiwoong, also known as the scary ahjusshi by Yosub.

"I'm not exactly pleased to be paired with you again either," said Taehyung's mother, scowling at him.

"What is Ara going to do?" asked Taehyung.

He winced as soon as I elbowed his stomach. I never agreed to taking part in any sports event and I was not to be forced either. My hatred for sports could not be described with words. I had never been good at it, so I always avoided it as best as I could.

"She could do the 100m ra-"

"You want me to run?!" I shouted, cutting off the village leader.

Out of all the sports, running was the one I despised the most. No way would I ever think about running a race.

"Oh I am so sorry, is our princess too prestige to be doing petty things like take part in a silly little village competition?" mocked Jiwoong in a high-pitched voice. Nothing like how I sounded.

I crossed my arms and rolled my eyes. What was wrong with not wanting to take part? Plus, it wasn't like I chose to be here, so why should I be forced?

"Well if Ara doesn't want to do it, she doesn't have to," said the village leader, "Anyways we have our star players, the Kim siblings."

Everyone cheered at Taeyeon and Taehyung, who was awkwardly smiling, scratching the back of his head.

Once everyone was given their events, they all split up to practise. Taehyung had left me to manage the three-legged race, telling me not to alienate myself from the villagers. As if that even mattered to me at all. Him and his sister had gone out to the fields to run.

The 'neighbourhood alcoholic' whose name I learnt was Dongwook, was supposed to be practising shotput but was too busy drinking soju in the corner. His mother and Yosub's grandma were doing the ancient shoe throwing game, too busy to notice Dongwook getting wasted in mid-day.
I sighed as I watched Jiwoong and Taehyung's mother arguing about how to tie the rope around their legs.

"Are you trying to cut off my blood circulation?!"

"Stop shouting in my ear!" shouted Taehyung's mother.

She pulled the rope even tighter, causing Jiwoong to wince in pain. It was surprising to know that such a thin and weak looking person like him was the most successful farmer here.

Thank God for the only calm couple which was the village leader and his wife. However, despite them being relatively peaceful, that didn't mean they were good at the event either. I sighed with frustration, looking at the tragic sight of the couple falling on top of each other.

"Have you guys ever won?" I asked Yosub, who was beside me.

"The last time was three years ago..."

I sighed once again, shaking my head. It was hopeless. For the past hour that we had been doing this, I had tried all sorts of methods to help them with the three-legged race. None of it had worked.

For what reason am I working so hard for anyways?

I never had felt so happier when the village leader ended the practise session. I practically ran all the way home. Well. Not exactly. I did this thing where you walk, do a little jog and then walk again.

I took a long thirty-minute shower because the quality of the water flow had improved now for some odd reason- not that I was complaining.

I had been longing to shower all day because of how disgusting I was feeling, especially after that horrible experience of coming into contact with the cow poop. I shivered at the memory.

Whilst I was drying myself, I heard a weird noise outside. I froze for a second to hear what the sound belonged to. It wasn't a voice, nor was it my phone. It sounded sort of animal-like, although I wasn't very sure because the sound was very muffled.

I wrapped my body in the towel and opened the door.

My face fell at the sight of what looked like chick-

WHY THE FUCK ARE THERE CHICKENS IN MY ROOM?

"AGHHH!" I screamed, "GET OUT!"

Suddenly Taehyung ran in without knocking and sighed with relief, completely unaffected by the sight of chickens freely roaming and my screaming.

"So they were here all along."

"Take them away!"

I flailed my arms about as the chickens flapped their wings, running around in the small space. Taehyung was busy trying to catch them whilst I was trying to dodge them.

During the process the towel around me had loosened. The end result was inevitable.

Everything felt like it happened in slow motion. My towel slowly dropped down, whilst my arms were still up in the air. By the time I had realised, it was too late.

There I stood butt naked in front of Kim Taehyung.

A/N: A special guest from Bangtan will be featuring in the athletics competition *winkeu face*.
