. .

i'm kidding!! i mean i had to dig into my rather cringey photobucket account from two years ago, but other than that, why not? so i guess here are my old things to new-ish things.

in pie, of course. this is a huge opportunity to pull a maths theme.

oh please, by the way, make sure you have your wand or lightsaber or district weapons/ whatever faction jumbo you got up your sleeve-- stuff like that at bay, okay.

i don't want to fight for my way for life, since y'all might attack me for the cringe (ง°ل͜°)ง

..

if you got all my references we must be long lost twins contact me asap. anyway

PART ONE

...

i first started designing with pixlr, not knowing what layers were and what the tools were for. though eventually, i did understand (because of tutorials) what the tools were for so i started playing around and experimenting. though honestly at that time i found designing with pixlr such a tedious process. in short i wasn't so comfortable with using it so i went on a hunt on a more comfortable software.

PART TWO
-6535897

this was when i found picmonkey, and proceeded to make all me graphics with it. (i mentioned this in my intro i think, but picmonkey is life and still is!)

i developed a huge fetish on minimalist covers then and i think it became banned for a while because of me. lmao.

PART TWO CONT.
-932

eventually i discovered the use of textures AND blending modes and i was soo blown away and went crazy as demonstrated above

(those were the best days ahh)

...

PART THREE
-3846264

this was the time period where i discovered the art of simple covers, and when billboard sized watermarks started to appear.

...

PART FOUR
-3383279

this was when i discovered the art of manip. (legit my first two manip covers)

most of my stuff during this period had poor blending, too many overlays, and just the whole entire rainbow on one cover. (to be fair, picmonkey didn't have layers or coloring adjustments hehe) but honestly i enjoyed making these manips more than the simple and minimalist type of covers.

...

PART FIVE
-5028841

this was the period when i actually mastered all there is to know about picmonkey after using it for so long, and most of the covers i made during this period is posted here on this book! number four, i believe.

....

PART SIX
-97169399

these were made with picmonkey after i took a hiatus of 6-7 months, i think.

it was a period of questioning myself because my style and preferences kinda changed.  at that time i was a bit frustrated; i wanted to do something but picmonkey was kinda limiting me. so i guess here was when i decided i wanted to step out of my comfort zone and get on with those layers and tools.

...

PART SEVEN
-375105

these were my first three covers on photoshop, and me deciding layers aren't so bad after all. :-)

most of the graphics during this time period were manips, mostly because it is so much fun coloring!
also, minimalist/ vector graphics scared me.

...

PART EIGHT
-∞

cut to the present when i'm not scared of trying new things anymore, but i still fail at attempting darker or magical themed graphics.

everything in this whole book so far is hmm, part eight point five.

[11.20.17 UPDATE:] after a year, i like to think i'm in part 9!

...

if you've stuck to this whole chapter until this part i salute you! i don't know about you guys, but i'm honestly cringing so hard.
