"Ahh...ahh." Farah let out a low shout coupled with shock And Ahmer somehow managed to overcome his cough as those people greeted them

"Why Did you shout?" Ahmad asked.
"Youuuu... scareeed me." Farah stuttered.
"Ahmer bro, you are fine?" Hammad asked him while rubbing his back in the meanwhile Farah and Ahmer glanced eachother questioningly.

"What are you two doing here?" Saira asked them as Ahmad pulled chairs for all of them to join in.
"We umm I came to eat.....we met so.....we had our dinner together." Ahmer replied struggling to find appropriate words.

"You came to eat alone?" Alia asked him mischievously.
"Hmmm." he replied.
"I said why did you came to eat ALONE?" Alia asked again.
"Ammi, baba were out of city." Ahmer finally pulled out a suitable answer.

"And you Farah?" Saira asked.
"Seher," she replied and everyone looked at her hungry for answer.
"Seher ummm was supposed to come along but got stuck with her work." she finished trying to dodge their penetrating and interrogating gazes.

"Shut the hell, both of you." Ahmad shouted playfully.
"We know you both are together." Alia said mysteriously.
Farah and Ahmer comtinued to stare eachother in shocking denial.

"Long story short, we already know you two are dating so no need to beat around the bush." Ahmad announced.
Farah and Ahmer stared at them embarrassingly, still trying to produce a better argument.

"You should've told us." Saira complained.
"We were about to," Ahmer said.
"Yeaaahhhh." Alia said exaggerating it to the lengths of the language.
"Liars." Hammad said mockingly.
"Btw how did you guys get to know about us?" Ahmer asked and Farah asked together.
"It was hard to ignore you two, at times both of you behaved like total weirdos." Alia told them hilariously.

Time: 01:10 am

Under the blanket of darkness in the deep night, the empty streets howled with the wind as the stars managed to light up some part of the sky. Apart this another round structure also gleamed just beside the stars spreading it's glow through the blackness of the sky.

It was past one am, when Seher was sleeping in her room, while Mahreen sleeping cuddled in her master bed and Farah in deep and comfortable sleep in her bed in her room.

The lights of her room were off except a small nighlamp that sparkled like a asteroid in the right corner of her room by the window.

Farah was sleeping with a brown blanket on her body till her arms, her clear face was half concealed under a few strands of scattered hair while the other half of her hair rested peacefully on the pillow. Her right hand was positioned beside her cheeks and the other hand was lost under the blanket.

Suddenly a ringing sound started to resonate around the room, increasingly and her phone lighted up, which was neatly placed on her bed side table with the charging cord attached to it.

She turned sides for few seconds, turned irritatingly towards the phone, leaning onto the bed side table trying her best not to leave the comfortable bed and wondering who it could be at this hour of the night. She stretched her eye muscles and squinted to adjust her tired eyes to the light beaming out of her phone screen.

As she acknowledged it, it was a text from Insp Rehan.

'Farah, it's an urgency. Meet me at the head quaters NOW.
                                Insp Rehan.'

She frantically typed a reply and send it to him while sluggishly moving out of the bed.

______
'Is everything okay?
                     Farah.'

'Don't ask many questions. Do as I say. Hurry up.
                      Insp Rehan.'

'Okay, I'll be there soon.
                          Farah.'
______

She rushed to her closet trying her best not to produce any sound that might awake Seher and Mahreen.
It took her about ten minutes to change, she then turned to the mirror, organised herself and fetched her phone with her id card.

She once swiped open her phone, sneaked a glance of it and put it in her jeans pocket with her id card, just in case, she needs to prove her identity at the headquarters while wearing her shoes she picked up her bag laying on her desk and left the room. Before leaving the placed, she sticked a sticky note at the living room wall to notify them of her leaving. She quietly picked up the keys to the car and home, and left.

As soon as she parked the car, she rushed herself towards the headquater entrance still thinking about why did Insp Rehan call her here like this?

Farah pov
On my way to the entrance, I checked time on my wrist watch, it said it was one thirty already. I could have reached early if the lift was working. I hope every thing is fine.

Insp Rehan told me, he is here too then why the lights are turned off, I wonder why?
Let's get there to know it.

I reached the entrance with a puzzled mind, I checked the door, it was unlocked. I availed the opportunity and walked inside. It was black as charcoal inside, not even a single thing could be seen.

"Insp Rehan." I called out loudly expecting him to reply but recieved just a few echos.
I took another step with another call "Sir?" Still got no reply.

Suddenly I heard something. It sounded like it was gun shot. My heart started to pound ever faster with every single breath I took. I took a step back but I felt someone breathing, right behind me as if someone was standing there.

Before I could turn around or even try to defend myself, that person grabbed my mouth from his right hand and held my left shoulder from his left hand, pulling me roughly out of the entrance.

I struggled enough to loosen his strong grip around me but I guess it wasn't a piece of cake. He dragged me out of the darkness into the garage of the headquater.

In the garage he finally let go of me. I hurriedly moved back and turned towards him. As I saw him I was left astounded, like majorly!

'A life without adventure is likely to be unsatisfying but a life in which adventure is allowed to take whatever form it will, is sure to be short'
