It seems that Fate's Melody is going to end and I can't stop it. This is all Fate's doing. There are 280+ reads! Yay! Thank you for reading Fate's Melody and supporting it! I also apologise for the wrong facts about the wedding- I have never been to a wedding so I do not know the details.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

All kinds of flowers surrounded us. The grass was freshly cut and green- almost as it was fake and made of plastic.

"Where are we?" Honoka asked.

"Look around you. We are in a garden. Sheesh, Honoka-chan, you need to be more observant," Umi pointed out. "Hehehe,"Honoka said with a sheepish smile on her face.

The Wedding March could be heard in the distance.

"Minna-san, listen carefully. The Wedding March is playing. A couple is getting a married," I said and cupped my ear. "Yeah-nyan! I hear something-nyan! Let's check it out-nyan!" Rin exclaimed.

We headed in the direction of the music. A chapel entered my field of vision. The music became louder and it seemed to be coming from the chapel. There were also many journalists or reporters surrounding it. Someone famous was getting married. Could it be Mother and Father? She was an idol. It was possible. There was only one way to find out- we had to enter the chapel!

I pointed to the chapel and tilted my head in that direction. The others nodded and followed, with me taking the lead. The music was indeed coming from the chapel and there were bodyguards stationed outside it. They were as busy as bees, preventing the reporters and journalists from entering. "Let's use the same trick!" Nozomi said with a mischievous grin. We walked through the people, bodyguards and chapel door as if they were invisible and found ourselves in the middle of a wedding ceremony. People in tuxedos and dresses were seated on the benches. There was a string quartet playing the Wedding March and I caught sight of the bride walking down the aisle. Something about it was odd. The bride was supposed to be accompanied by her Father or Mother. "Maki-chan, is that your mother?" Hanayo squeaked as she pointed to the bride who had...red hair! Realisation struck me with hammer force.

It was Mother!

I nodded. Why was she alone? A memory played in my mind.

-flashback-

When I was five, I was looking through a photo album in the attic and caught sight of a photo. It included Mother, Grandmother and Grandfather and they were in the beach house! (Reference to Love Live season 1) Curiosity bubbled in me as I had never seen those "strangers" before. I carried the photo album downstairs and took it to Mother, who was sitting on the couch reading a novel.

"Mama...*huff*...who are *huff* these people? *huff*" I questioned Mother. Mother had a pained and nostalgic look on her face as she pointed to Grandmother and Grandfather and replied, "They are your grandparents."

"Mama, why have we not visit them before?" I inquired. "They are...not here anymore," Mother said and her eyes looked glassy. "Why are they not here?" I asked as with confusion written on my face. "You are too young to understand. Maki-chan, let me help you put the photo ablum where it was," Mother said gently as she subtly changed the subject and carried the photo ablum upstairs. I saw drops of water on the floor that made a trail as Mother climbed up the stairs.

It was tears.

-flashback end-

Realisation struck me with hammer force. Grandfather probably passed away at some point of time. It was a pity that I had not gotten to know them. The Wedding March died off and I realised that Mother was at the altar. A man with dark green hair awaited her at the altar. He gazed at her adoringly and his amber eyes. He looked uncanningly familiar.

He was Father.

He was dressed neatly and his hair was also beatly parted. How different he looked back then! He seemed to be head over heels in love with Mother as he had never took his eyes off her.

"That person looks handsome," Nico whispered. Everyone turned to stare at her with their eyebrows furrowed. What nonsense was she saying?! That was my father!

"Nico-chan, how can you say that?" Umi said with shock evident in her eyes. "You do know that is Maki-chan's father..."Eli trailed off. Nozomi had her hands out and was wriggling her fingers. She had that look. Nico gaped and mumbled an apology.

We had missed some points of the wedding ceremony and they were now exchanging vows. Thought bubbles floated above Mother and Father's heads.

The one on Father read- I was the luckiest man alive!

The one on Mother read: This was for Mother's sake. Although boring, rigid Naoto-kun is not my type, this was all for Mother! Although I like those more passionate and artistic people, I do not have a choice.

Shock jolted througj my entire being. In the present, Mother really loved Father (Naoto) but in the past, she did not like him? Mother liked passionate, artistic people? That had to be a joke. I scoffed at the thought bubble. Another difference between the past and present. Why did Mother not like Father in the first place? Curiosity bubbled in me like a witch's brew.

My question was going to be answered.

A picture appeared in the thiught bubbles and I felt that same "stretchy" feeling...

Where would we land up in? The only way to find out was to wait and see...
