Sweat ran down my face as I breathed in heavily. Overhaul stood in front of me with a distorted and mangled face as he had merged himself with his lieutenants. The little girl in my arms shaking, fear plastered into her water logged crimson eyes. "GIVE HER BACK!! I WILL RID THE WORLD OF THE DISEASE WE CALL QUIRKS AND I WILL USE HER TO DO IT!!"

"LIKE HELL!! YOUR NOT GETTING ANYWHERE NEAR HER!!" He lunged at me and I shot upwards, breaking some of the ceiling with my jump. I flew into the air and could see the people around me, everyone looked directly at me and the ground below me exploded as Overhaul jumped toward me.

I quickly dodged and moved to the side, however he was between me and everyone else. "If you wont give her to me then i'll pry her from your cold dead hands."

"Hey Eri, i know you're scared right now, but I need your help. If you can let loose with your quirk on me then i can go over my max without breaking my bones to bad. Can you do that?" She looked up at me in shock.

"I can't control it, I may lose control and make you disappear."

"Don't worry, im counting on you losing control. I trust you, and right now I need your quirk." I looked down at her and smiled as she simply looked at me in shock.

"O-ok."

She climbed on my back and immediately started using her quirk. I could feel her power surge through me as my body starts to rewind. I immediately fired up One for All to it's max, exceeding what i thought one-hundred percent was. "Thanks for the boost Eri, now let's finish this, together."

I shot forward and landed a massive hit on Overhauls face, back with the combined power of myself and Eri. And as i landed the hit, I dubbed the attack. "SNOWBALL SMASH!"

The impact sent him flying with a massive blast into the ground. As I landed I looked over to him to see him unconscious on the ground. It was over.

It was then that I felt pain run through my body and the weight of the little girl fall away. I spun around just in time to catch her and pull her into my chest as I too fell on my back. I felt the pain surge through me and I had to bite my lip to keep from screaming, the feeling of blood running down my chin was the last thing i felt before I lost consciousness.

When I did wake up again I was in a hospital room, the sound of a heart rate monitor echoed through the room. I sat up and looked around the room to see it was completely empty. After a moment though, the door opened and in walked Aizawa. "Midoriya, glad to see your awake."

"What happened to Eri? The last thing I remember was collapsing on the ground with her."

"She's in another room, she hasn't woken up just yet but the doctors say it should be soon."

"Was she injured?"

"No, although she had a slight fever from using her quirk, nothing to bad. Once she wakes up we'll evaluate her mental state and det-" He was cut off by an ear shattering cry.

"NO STAY AWAY!" I jumped from the bed despite Aizawa telling me to stay here. As I burst through the door I could hear the crying coming from a few doors down and sprinted there before bursting through the door.

When I did I saw Eri backed into a corner and a doctor trying to coax her out. "Sir you can-"

"DADDY!" She bolted past the doctor and came barreling at me before practically jumping on me. I could feel her tiny body shake as she cried into my shoulder.

"Hey, it's ok. I'm right here." She tightened her grip on me as she slowly started to calm down. I turned my attention to the doctor who had scared her into a corner. "I know that there is no way they did not inform you about why she's here. So what on earth made you think it was a good idea to back her into a corner?"

The doctor looked at me in shock as I glared up at him. "Daddy, please don't go, please don't leave me."

I looked down at Eri and realized what she had called me. But I didn't care. "Of course I won't. I'm here, don't you worry about that."

"Young man, this is a restricted room, you need to lea-" I looked up at the doctor to glare at him but was surprised to see Aizawa's capture gear wrapped around his mouth.

"Within the last five minutes Eri has done three things. First, she woke up and seeing doctors, started having a panic attack. Second, she was backed into a corner because you recklessly approached a child in the midst of a panic attack. Third, she has shown that, of everyone in the world, she has complete and total faith in Midoriya here, the hero Deku, the person who saved her life. If you even try and send him away you will have to go through me and every other hero who was involved in the raid that saved her." The doctor backed away from us and Eri had finally calmed down enough to have fallen asleep while clinging to me.

"What is going on here?" We all turned to see another doctor entered the room. Aizawa told him what happened and he was furious at how the doctor acted and dragged him out by his ear. Turned out the second doctor was the head of the ward who was called when the commotion started.

I stood up and walked over to the bed to try and lay Eri down, but even in her sleep she was holding onto me like her life depends on me. "This is gonna be a problem, although that's in keeping with you problem child. I'll have the doctors move you in here. We'll figure out just how bad her attachment is when she wakes up again. For now just get some rest, and I guess you're gonna have to do that with a five year old attached to you."

Aizawa turned and left me to lay on the bed with Eri attached to me. This was gonna be an adjustment.

The next morning I woke up with Eri clinging to my chest with her ear pressed against it, still sound asleep as she gripped my hospital gown. I layed there quietly, running my hand through her hair as she slept. Looking around the room I saw my mother had apparently come at some point since she was asleep. I decided to just take the time to relax as they both slept, just enjoying the quiet as I thought back to yesterday.

She called me dad. What am i supposed to do? I mean...it kinda felt nice. But is this really ok? Honestly though I don't think I have much of a choice, given how she acts toward others, I may not have a choice. Though, it may not be so bad.

As I sat in my own world thinking i felt Eri start to stir and looked down to see her opening her eyes. "Morning." She looked up to me and gave me a shy smile before snuggling back up against me.

"Morning." She said as she hummed against my chest.

"Eri, can i ask you about something?" She looked up at me again and nodded. "Last night, when you saw me come into the room, you called me dad."

Her eyes widened and she started to tear up as she spoke, "I'm sorry, it just slipped out." She started to cry again and I wrapped her in a hug.

"Hey, don't worry, im not upset. Actually, if you wanted to keep calling me that then i wouldn't mind." She snapped her gaze up to me and I smiled at her.

"Really?"

"Ofcourse, i told you last night that I would always be there for you, didn't I?" She started tearing up and jumped up to wrap me in as tight a hug as her little arms could.

"Thank you for saving me, thank you for helping me." I hugged her as well and after a few minutes she calmed down some.

"Eri, i need to talk to you about something else."

"What is it Daddy." I couldn't help but smile at her as she spoke.

"It's about the doctors," She flinched as I mentioned them, "It's ok, as long as I have anything to say about it they won't hurt you. But there are some things they need to do to make sure your ok."

"What do they need to do?" I could feel her starting to shake so I grabbed her hand and gave it a comforting squeeze.

"They need to check your vitals, which just means they need to wrap an airpouch around your arm. Then they need to check your heart with a small metal thing that they put on your chest, it's just a bit cold. After that is the last thing. They need to take some blood."

She immediately started shaking and tearing up. I wrapped her in a hug and tried to calm her down some, "Hey, it's ok. If your not ready then I won't let them take you blood. Ok? If you don't wanna do that part then you don't have to."

"Really, they won't use the needles?" She said as she looked up at me.

"No, I won't let them if your not ready." I think that's it with talking about anything big today, she doesn't need to deal with this kind of stress.

Once she calmed down again she settle back into my arms and we sat in silence for a while. Until I noticed the other person in the room start waking up. My mother yawned as she stretched in her seat and when Eri heard her and realized she was in the room, she started shaking and hid behind me as best she could.

"It's ok Eri, this is my mother." Mom stood and walked over to us only for Eri to get further behind me.

"Hi Eri, I'm Inko, but from what I've heard, I'd say you could call me Grandma." Eri seemed to calm down a bit but stayed hidden.

"It's ok Eri, were gonna do this stuff at your pace ok." I turned and picked her up so that she was in my lap. She looked over at mom and studied her for a moment, I could feel her stop shaking. As she looked at her, she then looked back up at me with a questioning look.

"What's a grandma?"

"It's your parents mom, she's my mom which makers her your grandma." she gave me a hesitant and small smile before looking back and mom and whispering.

"Hi." and then burying her head in my chest.

"Hello Eri, it's a pleasure to meet you." Mom looked away from Eri and to me. "Toshinori said he would be by later to talk to you about school."

I figured that would be an issue, but at this point...as long as Eri is ok then i don't care what they say.
