calling Carolina's Smooth Godiva.
(Do not use this calling for anything whatsoever. My dog ocs that I give registered callings to, I keep them for any actual pets as well.)

— The reasoning behind such a calling is referring to Carolina's due to the fact her breed was specifically discovered within South Carolina in which they were bred to serve as hunters of wild Carolina turkeys and ducks. 'Smooth Godiva' is in reference to her dark, rich pelt of brown that closely resembles her owner's favorite type of dark chocolate.

birth name Hazelwood. Mostly, she will go by 'Hazel'.
pronunciation, Hay—zell.
sole meaning, It doesn't necessarily have a meaning as a whole, however, hazel is a known shade of brown.
origin, 'Hazelwood' stemmed from her owner's love for Harry Potter. It is a material that certain types of wands can be made out of. That and it fit perfectly with her visually pleasing, dark brown appearance.

biological sex Female.
gender, Female.
pronouns, She/Her.

base pelage Her pelt is a visually pleasing, yet unique mix consisting of different shades and tones of brown. Predominantly, what makes up her 'base' coat; the section of fur that covers the majority of her body, is a darkened, rich mahogany. Each limb, however, starting from the tip of the radius bones of her forelegs and the tibulas of her hind legs down, is a sleek ebony, making her appear as if she wore stockings of some sort. The fur on her ears seem to be a completely lighter, yet still richer shade of honey-brown. A color that is seemingly contrasting, though still nicely accentuates her overall pelt and eye color.
accentuating palate, She bears no pelt markings, however, the texture of her coat is also an odd mix. The pelt of her overall body is a light blend of wavy and mildly 'curled'; even downy and slightly fluffy. The fur on her legs is smooth and sleek, and the upon her ears it is also mostly wavy. Her owner, despite the activities and work his dog participates in, keeps her appearance pristine at all times. When she is not working, she is sent to the groomers to be bathed and pampered as it is one of many keys to maintaining her overall health.

eye shape Large and almond.
eye color, A vibrantly contrasting shade of golden.

anatomy,

Hazel is what one would deem as middle height for her gender and breed. Whereas the largest female Boykin could reach 18 inches at the withers and weigh in at 40 pounds, Hazel finished growing at 16 inches and weighs around 32 pounds. Her owner keeps her nicely fed twice a day, though strictly controls her portion intake. Healthy feeding habits and daily activity and exercise has helped keep Hazel's figure lean and nimble, while also managing an appropriate layer of muscle toning to raise a fine, healthy, and show-worthy Boykin over the months. She is purely built for agility and speed as she has to be able to immediately dart across a field after fallen turkey that her owner has shot to retrieve and carry back with her partners. She even has to be ready to shoot into a body of water and swim after a fallen duck. Hazel is slender and nimble, possessing a rather 'feminine' physique, yet such a build does not mean one should mistake her for weak. Ever.

scarrings, She has a pretty noticeable scar that appears to be thin lines of scratches running down her head and muzzle. When she was a young and overly bold pup, she managed to get a little too comfortable around the chickens her owner kept at their home. Long story short...the big boss of a rooster didn't take too kindly to her disturbing his hens so he let her know the hard way with a 'kick' to her face with those claws of his.

moral alignment, Neutral good.

inventive or consistent, Consistent with her work but can be inventive in other ways.

curious or cautious, She has been trained to be nothing but cautious. It was a way her owner kept her from springing after every single fowl he tried to hunt.

efficient or easy-going, Efficient. She has grown to have a very high work drive.

organized or careless, Organized. She could never afford to be careless when hunting with her owner and careless mistakes she made were always corrected.

energetic or reserved, Energetic in terms of requiring hours of some form of daily activity. She can be reserved in more personal ways.

friendly or challenging, This very highly depends. If she does not appreciate certain energies that a dog gives off, the only way she knows to guard herself is to confront and become defensive. In other terms, she can be slightly difficult to get along with right off the bat.

compassionate or detached, Compassionate, despite how she may not always show it.

dominant or submissive, This is kinda where it gets tricky. She is a dominant female, meaning if she were to live in a household full of more than two other dogs, she'd be the one to assert her claim on the title. She is the type of dog who will give corrections to others if needed but is never one to go seeking a fight. The only time she would settle for another dominant canine is if it were a male only. She can tolerate altered females but has never been able to get along with intact females.

logical or emotional, Both.

possessive or lenient, Possessive.

sunrise or moonhigh, Sunrise. She's always waking early enough to catch one anyway.

selfish or selfless, Depends on the situation. Normally a selfless lass.

food aggressive or generous, It isn't so much that she is 'generous', per say. She is a well trained canine who wouldn't show aggression to this simply wanting to share some food. However if they were actively stealing it, that's a different story.

merciless or merciful, If she is angered to a high point, expect her to rarely show any mercy.

trusting or skeptical, More on the skeptical side at first.

psyche,

Hazel has been a persistent 'go-getter' from the moment she could fully understand her wants, goals, or any ambitions she may choose to set out for herself. Hazel learned, through many a trial and error, that to get whatever it was one desired, it had to be earned. Fought for and won fairly. She developed a rather forward,  unabashed manner of going about achieving certain things, no matter how it was to be done. Hazel doesn't harbor hardly any shame for the way she carries out her own ambitions and she would like to think it has all taught her great perseverance. The female is a canine that, when she knows what she wants, she goes after it with unwavering determination. She knows her ambitions and is fully aware of her own strength, and if others were to take her for a bitch because of it, she'd be alright.

— Despite the methods she may execute, which may not set well with all, in order to achieve something, Hazel can be a rather authoritative figure unless she is under someone she finds that she can truly respect. Her intentions are most often not to be taken as arrogant or prideful. She does not believe in the trait of self-serving, mostly, and will not tolerate it within the behavior of others. Hazel tends to think in the best interest of others; or at least, she does try to at all times. Her actions are not to benefit herself mostly, unless it truly comes down to it, and usually come out benefitting others as she would like to be seen as a trusting and reliable individual. Despite how she has an awful time trusting others. A female that can spare protection and guidance for others instead of keeping it all for herself. It was what she was bred to do, aside from hunting mainly. Protect and serve. That, she would fiercely do as well.

— While Hazel's intentions are normally positive and kind; she does harbor a softer side surprisingly... She does have a temper and an abrasive side at times. Like everyone else, she has her little things that trigger her and the bigger things that completely set her off.

Fears Fire and anything to do with it. It's become a slight phobia. She would avoid bonfires and even fireplaces inside someone's house. She fears anything tragic happening to her owner as she is deeply attached to him.

anatomy and relationship,

— Hazel was more familiar with her mother for the few weeks she was with her. It was enough time to still remember her scent and what she sounded like even now a few years later after being purchased and picked up by her owner.

friends

Ajax.
anatomy and relationship,

— Ajax was an old, sturdy German wirehaired pointer. He was the first dog her owner ever owned and he was taken on many, many hunting trips in the past. Hazel looked to him as a sort of father figure she never really had as a pup. The two were rather close and Ajax was the one to help teach and guide her; educating her on how to best please their owner and what not to do. Ajax was sadly killed in a fire that completely destroyed their home as at the time, he was elderly and beginning to develop arthritis, making it hard for him to have escaped in time. It absolutely devastated Hazel and her owner. More so her owner. If anyone had seen a grown man cry off and on for days, it had definitely been Hazel.

extra fun facts

She was born in Charleston, South Carolina at a kennel specifically for breeding 'too notch' Boykins for hunters, showing, and active people alike.

— Her owner's name is Dakota and he is a tall, lean man with olive toned skin, short black hair and shaven sides he keeps tied back in a small bun, and grey-blue eyes.

— She has participated in many waterfowl and wild turkey hunting competitions with her owner, a handful of which they had snatched first place.

— She is fed a strict raw diet as she has an allergy to grain and simply finds dry dog chow to be unappealing anyway. Her favorite is duck head and chicken neck.

— You can just about always find her near some body of water either wading around in it or actually swimming. She absolutely adores water and quite frankly is not afraid to get muddy.

— She doesn't do well with cats or other small animals. Especially birds.

voice claim She doesn't have an officially voice claim, but her voice is silken yet firm, laced with a small southern drawl.
