—s y n o p s i s

The Bureau of Genetic Welfare was nothing but a scam. They painted themselves as saviours of the world that was already crumbled into pieces. They played scientists, messing up with people's genes - trying to create better humans, leaving the damaged ones behind.

Once people develop the trait of a saviour, they start to believe they are the rulers of the world. Since they help others to restore the world it was before.

Weirdly enough, the people with the biggest egos above their heads always had a bunch of one-brain-celled followers who believed in everything they were told to do. It is for a better purpose after all, for a better tomorrow.

Wave saw through them quickly enough— pushing her beloved job as a scientist aside just to mess up with their experiments. Oops! The memory serum is not working fully enough! Oops! The transmitters underneath the skin are leaving side effects. She was going to do anything to stop the literal human breeding they so-called experiments.

Now, she wasn't being discreet enough and she didn't have anyone to back her up, since disagreeing with the Head of the Bureau was foolish. There were no people like that since they ended up buried five feet below the living.

That's why they couldn't just eliminate their most valued scientist just like that. She was a necessity, but she had to learn her lesson. Why not make her into a test subject and stuff her into an experiment, ruining her world in the cruellest ways?

Wave didn't know that she was in the outside world. She didn't know she was a well-valued scientist who tried to stop this nonsense before the further war of discrimination would rage. Instead, she was stuffed into a faction, into a family that was stuffed with fake memories about their beloved daughter. Meanwhile, their daughter didn't know anything herself.

That's how the Bureau of Genetic Welfare levelled up their own game. Watching her through surveillance cameras, they noticed how she easily got integrated into her own faction, asking no questions.

The transmitter underneath her skin kept her mind clear from the memories, kept her mind away from the secrets that were about to wage. But she didn't know, that since Divergents are being killed, the Bureau will want to step up their game, even more, creating her as a scapegoat.

Only to their disappointment, their beloved scapegoat won't play nicely since she realised that her whole life was one hilarious lie. Oh, and especially the Bureau isn't ready for the man who will do anything to protect her.
