jungkook's eyes fluttered open to be met with a blank white ceiling staring right back down at him. am i at a hospital?

"no, you're not."

the ravenet immediately snapped his head to the side to spot taehyung peering back at him with an amused expression, fingers hovering over the keyboard of his laptop and glasses halfway slid down the bridge of his nose.

simply blinking at the CEO for a couple of seconds, it took him a while to realize that he had fallen asleep in taehyung's office last night, peacefully dozing off on a (surprisingly comfortable) couch with a suit jacket draped over his torso like a blanket.

it took a few more seconds for him to remember what happened during the storm last night.

"do you want to talk about it?" taehyung then asked, seemingly able to sense jungkook's sudden surge of dread.

"frankly, not really," jungkook mumbled, sitting up on the couch with the suit jacket clutched tightly to his chest.

taehyung hummed in response and actually didn't interrogate jungkook, to which jungkook felt relieved about because even if the elder was a douche to him, he was still somewhat understanding nonetheless.

and that's when it also occurred to him, "what time is it?"

taehyung's gaze flickered over to the clock. "it's nearing 7am. the staff will start filing in soon, so you should probably take your leave now."

"have you... been working all this time?" the tattooist queried with furrowed brows.

"yes. what about it?" taehyung replied nonchalantly, continuing to type in word after word into his computer.

jungkook shook his head in ridicule and practically leaped off the couch after carefully setting the jacket to the side. "you need to get some food. you look like you're about to mutate into a zombie."

"i'm not hungry."

"it's impossible to not be hungry after, like, 12 hours of not eating," jungkook protested.

"it's only been 11 hours," taehyung grumbled under his breath but jungkook caught it. "i don't want employees to think that i turned up late to work," the blond added.

jungkook clicked his tongue in irritation at the other's strict professionalism. "who cares? you're the CEO, it doesn't matter if you're late."

"that's not how it works, jung—" taehyung let out an unmanly squeak as jungkook rushed over to the side of his desk and easily tugged him out of his seat, tattooed fingers locked around his forearm like a vice grip as he dragged the older male out of his own office building.

taehyung eventually gave up with a huff and resorted to silently following jungkook to wherever he was taking him. well, it wasn't like he had much of a choice anyway.

he wasn't the least bit shocked when the pair ended up in front of jin's cafe, which was already open despite the obvious lack of customers this early in the morning.

"come on, i'm treating you," jungkook announced as they stepped inside the coffee shop. "as a token of gratitude for helping me yesterday."

taehyung remained silent, giving a slight nod to the younger man and swallowing any retorts back down his throat.

their smooth entrance was interrupted by jin's sharp gasp from behind the counter, along with jimin who had his jaw dropped to the floor as he stood next to jin, both of them looking straight at taehyung and jungkook like hawks.

"woah, what did we miss?" jin instantly questioned as soon as the two men reached the counter. "the last time i checked, you guys were at each other's throats, and now you're on a date at 7 in the morning?"

taehyung flinched at the word 'date'.

"it's not a date, hyung," jungkook began, finally letting go of the businessman's arm. "i just spent the night in his office."

jimin literally screamed and seokjin's eyes almost popped out of their sockets. "in his office d-doing what?" jimin spluttered.

"talking," jungkook deadpanned with a tilt of his head. "what did you think we were doing?"

jimin quickly glanced away.

"that's quite surprising," jin commented. "taehyung never lets anyone stay over in his house overnight, much less in his office where he keeps all the confidential work material."

the ravenet smirked at that newfound information. "oh, has mr. kim perhaps taken a liking to me?" he spoke with a teasing smile, nudging taehyung's shoulder lightly.

"don't be ridiculous. it was a one-time thing," taehyung corrected, gently pushing jungkook away from him. "and it's not like the reason you came up there was to snoop around."

"you know it wasn't."

"indeed. but the next time you try to do that, i'll be sure to kick your ass off the 70th floor," the blond chided with an angry pout that secretly made jungkook coo on the inside.

"sure, mr. kim," jungkook snickered.

they both knew that there will definitely be a next time, no matter what taehyung says.
