"Only the very oldest people remembered a time when humans could see in colour," the old man started. "Colours are Magic. My grandfather told me about how his own grandfather heard from his great-grandfather ... how beautiful colours actually were.

"It's supposed to still be here with us, we just can't see it anymore. The thing we're seeing now, long, long ago," the old man whispered, "was called black, grey, and white.

"The Gods took away our ability to see colours because we're not worthy of Magic, so the stories said," he told the kids seriously. "Like how the took dragons and unicorns' Magic so our ancestors had to create this thing called 'technology'. I'm sure your school is still covering the subject, kids, though there aren't much we know about this Magic's substitute."
