Bill Cipher P.O.V

I rush outside to see Pine Tree in a standoff with another version of himself. One of them is holding a gun. It becomes perfectly clear that Mason was his own demise.

The one holding the gun looks positively petrified by my presence. He is shaking and holding his gun tightly. He should know that his bullets won't harm me.

Mason backs up and manages to get behind me. He knows that he will die if I don't save him. He can't kill another version of himself. I know he would never be able to.

The version of him holding the gun takes several steps back as I move closer. I can see the fear and regret in his eyes. While he is a version of my precious Pine Tree, I do not love him and will have no problems taking out what is nothing more than a clone.

Mason turns his back on the situation and allows a shaky breath to escape his lips. I know that he is already growing uncomfortable so I will make it quick.

I push the carbon copy of my love down to the forest floor. He flinches and drops the gun. It's now far out of his reach. Although, it's not like it would do much damage anyway.

I see the fear growing in his eyes. He looks exactly like my Pine Tree, but he isn't him. He will never be the one I love.

"No, please, no!" his screams of terror grow louder as I walk closer.

He cries for mercy that can't be given. He should have known that killing my Pine Tree would only cause his own downfall. That is most likely why he killed Pine Tree while I was gone and then fled the scene.

I quickly take care of him and end his cries. I made it quick before taking my Pine Tree back inside. I will dispose of his copy at a better time.

Mason wraps his arms around my neck as I carry him inside. He hasn't said a word. The silence is looming and makes me worry.

"I apologize for doing that, Mason. I can't imagine that it will be easy to stomach," I say softly, running my fingers through his hair.

"It isn't, but neither is learning that another version of yourself killed you at some point in time. You did what was right. I love you and that isn't going to change," he says after a few moments.

My teeth sink into my bottom lip. I've been wanting to ask Pine Tree this question for quite some time. It may not be the right moment but now is better than never. And if his love won't change then hopefully he will say yes.

"Mason, I have something to ask you," I say softly, close to his ear.

I feel him shiver as he nods slowly. "Ask away."

"Will you marry me?" I ask, taking the ring box out of my pocket and opening it.

He smiles and hugs me tightly. "Of course."

Overwhelming joy flows between us as we share a passionate kiss. I have never felt happier in my existence. I have found the one that I will cherish and love forever and he has found me.
