"Sir, we have the x-ray." A blinding light followed by voices could not be good.

The girl on the hospital bed dared not to open her eyes.

"Hm?" A male voice piped up, she decided to study these voices.

Paper shuffling, interesting noise.

"That cannot be, the anatomy is way off!" More shuffling papers.

"Well, this was what we got from the x-rays." The feminine voice sounded, a bit annoyed.

Growling, presumably from the male doctor, followed by more shuffling.

The sound of metal and creaking filled the room, then stopped.

"You're awake, I can tell." It was the same female voice, she remembered.

Her amber eyes fluttered open, her head turning to face the other girl.

"What might your name be?" The female, probably a nurse or lower doctor, asked.

"Tiffany." Sophia remembered, sitting up. "Where's Tiffany?"

"Ms Morison is resting, she's got a lot of injuries from the accident. I'm surprised you're awake, much less sit up." The nurse shook her head. "Though I wouldn't recommend standing or walking."

"What's today, where are we, and what time is it?"

"It's December 4, you've been out for three days." The nurse began. "You are currently in a hospital just inside New Hampshire."

Sighing in relief, Sophia turned to her left and slid off the bed. Once coming in contact with the floor, her ankle twisted, causing her to fall.

The nurse walked over to the ashen-haired girl and just stood there, not helping.

"I told you I didn't recommend standing." The nurse huffed. "Though, if you want to see your friend, a name would be nice."

"You have an interesting way of running things," Sophia stared. "Sophia."

"Thank you, Sophia." The nurse smiled, walking over to grab something to help the ashen-haired girl on the floor.

Sophia looked at her ankles, they were pointing out at a weird angle.

"Your ankles weren't quite healed, nor are most of your bones." The nurse walked over with, what looked like, a chair on wheels.

Sophia said nothing as the nurse picked her up and carefully placed her in the chair.

"I assume you want to see your..." The nurse looked at Sophia for a confirmed of sorts.

"Friend." Sophia looked at the nurse with a blank face.

The nurse nodded, starting to push the wheelchair out of the door.

Once Sophia entered the room, the first thing she noticed was how terrible Tiffany looked.

Scars, bruises, and traces of dried blood littered what skin Sophia could see. Anything she couldn't see, was covered by a blanket.

A little whiles after Sophia came in, those familiar green eyes fluttered open.

The blonde sat up and looked at the ashen-haired girl sitting in the wheelchair, seemingly perfect posture with her hands resting in her lap.

A door was heard closing behind the two.

The two looked at each other, eye to eye and not looking away until one of them spoke.

"We're just inside of New Hampshire." Sophia looked at her hands.

"Is that good?" Tiffany asked, her voice a bit raspy. "Do you know the radius of the thing that is chasing you?"

"I can sense it's close, they have apperently three days on us." Sophia looked up, staring right at the blonde.

"I assume that means we need to get moving as soon as we possibly can." Tiffany chuckled.

"Yup, and a lot sooner than we have."

YOU ARE NOW LEAVING NEVADA

Ben couldn't help but stare at the sign.

He had seen her once, and never again. He actually kept trying to fall asleep in an attempt to talk again.

They had decided on a final place to meet, a small town between Tennessee and Missouri borders.

Ben shook his head, trying to get the thought of her out of his head. They would only locate both of them faster.

Ben figured they had three days ahead of them, the most recent attack would only be in Nevada, probably in a large, hugely populated, and busy city.

Miguel made a sharp, left turn but Ben had been through this enough times that he would not be thrown off.

"Wow, you finally stayed on the bike." Miguel joked as he jumped off his bike.

"Yeah yeah, I don't want to hear it." Ben waved his hand flimsily, also hopping off the bike.

"Have you met with your girlfriend again?" Miguel looked at Ben, his eyes revealed the question to be genuine.

"One, what's a girlfriend?" Ben looked at Miguel as if he lost his mind. "And two, no."

The brunet didn't respond, he only laughed and walked to the small hotel.

"Hi, and welcome to the Ship, how may I help you?" The receptionist said once the two were inside.

"A room." Ben spoke seemingly sarcastically but with a straight face.

"Sure, we accept all forms of race, gender, and couples." The receptionist smiled, handing Ben the keys to their room.

"We, no. Him and I are not-"

"Whatever, come on I want to sleep." Ben grabbed Miguel's arm and walked away.

"More confirmed deaths from the new cross-country killer. This time, one in Utah and one along the border of New Hampshire and Maine."

Ben stared at the screen in horror.

"No, how did they catch up to us?!" Ben asked, frustrated and angry.

"I don't know..." Miguel frowned. "But why are the attacks still happening along the Maine-New Hampshire border?"

"She must still be there." Ben's eyes opened wide.

"Is there any way to fight them off?" The brunet asked, fear rising.

"I can weaken them and slow them down but nothing more without her help." Ben started pacing.

"Does your friend have a name?" Miguel asked, a bit confused. "I'd assume not but I figured it was worth asking."

"Not that I remember." Ben shrugged.

"Lovely." Miguel huffed.

"Shut up." Ben ordered, hiding against the wall beneath the window. "And hide."

Miguel did as he was told, hiding between the beds.

Carefully and quietly, Ben crouch-walked to the door, electricity buzzing at his fingertips.

Sorry for not updating this, I know how this'll end but I don't know what I want in the middle so I apologize if future chapters are bad.
