-{Premonition: Fate or Bonds?}-

Two figures danced around a man in pitch black armor with purple markings. The first, a male with navy blue hair charged in, his blade clashing against the other's black metal blade. Sparks flew as their blades clashed. However, as the armored figure knocked the male away, another armored figure rushed in, clashing a starry blade against the other's. Their blades clashed a few more times, trying to stop the other dead in their tracks. However, as their attacks were unsuccessful, they knocked each other back. The dark figure sheathed his sword in the device on the front of his belt, pulling a trigger on the handle before drawing the sword back out.

Hissatsu Mokudoku! Battou!

The starry armored figure grabbed the guard on his sword, sliding it down the blade once before pulling the trigger, sliding it back down to above the handle. He did it once more, sliding it all the way down the blade of the sword this time. Afterwards, he pulled the trigger, summoning a purple sword with a golden blade in his hand.

Rekka Kidoku! Kurayami! Kidoku! Rekka Kurayami! Xross Giri!

"Chrom!" The armored figure shouted, tossing the sword to his teammate before a silver sword with a crimson guard appeared in his free hand. The other male, Chrom, caught the sword, nodding. "Thanks!" The dark armored figure roared as he slashed towards them, black energy swirling off of his sword and into the figure of a large dragon heading towards them.

Moonless Musou Giri!

Chrom and the armored figure clashed their blades together in defense, the attack clashing against the blades. As the energy discharged, the two were blasted back, with the armored figure sending two slashes of fire towards the dark figure. "Fools!" The figure shouted, the slashes of fire disintegrating into nothing as soon as they touched his sword. The new swords in the heroes' hands vanished as the dark rider rushed towards Chrom, overpowering him with an overhead slash, knocking him into the wall. Chrom still climbed back up to his feet using his sword. The dark rider slid his sword into the holster on his side, pulling the trigger. "Such insignificant pests. You do realize none of this will stop me, right!?" He shouted.

Kyomu Iai!

He drew the sword back out, the dark energy once again gathering around the blade. "Now then, DIE!" He shouted, sending a dark energy slash towards Chrom. "No!" The starry armored figure rushed towards Chrom, standing in front of him as he slammed his fist against the guard on his sword, sliding it all the way down the blade before pulling the trigger.

Mokudoku Issen! Haou Hissatsu Read! Kidoku Juu Seiken! Haou Hissatsu Dokuha! Haou Xross Sei Retsuzan!

Ten swords appeared in front of him, all clashing against the attack as well as his own sword. The attack was deflected, the discharge being strong enough to make both sides stumble. Chrom stood back on his feet, planting a hand on his partner's shoulder. "It's almost over. This is the end of our final battle! No matter what destiny says, you're one of us Saber. Now, let's kill this betrayer and end this once and for all!" Chrom said, his companion, Saber, nodding. Saber drew his sword across his gauntlet. "I'll... decide the ending of this story!" He declared before the two charged forward.

"Didn't I already say this!? There's nothing you can do to stop me!" The dark rider, Falchion, shouted, laughing psychotically. "You don't get to decide that!" Chrom shouted, leaping towards him. He performed a downward slash towards the dark rider that was blocked. "We'll decide how this'll end!" Saber said, rushed up to Falchion's side. Saber slashed at his side, making the dark rider stumble sideways. Chrom followed up with a slash that left a mark in his chest plate as Falchion went to block an attack. The two alternated attacks, damaging Falchion. When Falchion stumbled backwards, falling to one knee, Saber sheathed his sword into the front of his belt, pulling the trigger. "This is the end for you, Falchion!" Saber announced.

Haou Hissatsu Dokuha!

"Fools! You can't unwrite what's already been written!" Falchion shouted, standing back up as he docked his sword once more, pulling the trigger on his end.

Hissatsu Mokudoku!

The two drew their swords once more as energy gathered around their blades, however the energy from Saber's sword was shared with Chrom's, allowing the two to send silver galaxy energy slashes towards Falchion. The dark rider countered with a slash of his own, but it was quickly overpowered, knocking Falchion into a wall.

Seiba Battou! Haou Issatsu Giri! Saber! Battou! Moonless Musou Giri!

"Damn... You..." Falchion growled as he fell down, holding his chest. "We... We did it. Chrom, we did it!" Saber said, looking at his companion who smiled and nodded. "However... This isn't over..." This drew their attention, immediately putting them on the offensive. Falchion got up to a knee and removed a small tome off of his belt, holding it over his blade.

Towa No Ja Ryuu!

"If I can't win here... Then I'll take both of you with me!" He shouted, using the last of his energy in a single slash, the energy taking the form of a dragon that headed for both of them. Saber, who's eyes widened behind his helmet at the power of the attack, pushed Chrom out of the way, taking the hit on all his own.

Mugen Ittotsu!

Saber held his blade in front of him against his forearm, trying to brave through the attack. The ground around his feet began to tear up due to the excessive force. Letting out a roar of determination, Saber deflected the attack, destroying the ceiling above them before falling to his knees. Before he could fall forward however, Chrom ran to his side, grabbing his arm. "Hey! Are you alright!?" He said, worried. Saber slowly looked at his partner, nodding slightly. "I... I think so..." Saber muttered, grabbing Chrom's shoulder to help himself up, struggling slightly. They looked over at where Falchion was, seeing his blade stabbed into the ground as ashes burned away with purple flames. "Hopefully that's the end of him," Chrom said, helping Saber stand up by pulling his arm over his shoulders. "I can only hope so," Saber said, coughing slightly. "You know, if it wasn't for you, we might not have made it this far," Chrom congratulated, making Saber chuckle a little.

As they slowly began to walk towards the exit, Saber began to cough ever harsher, his visor slowly becoming red around the edges. "Hey, What's wrong?" Chrom said when they stopped, looking at Saber. Saber began to loosen his grip on Chrom, slipping off of him as he stumbled. "Hey, I don't-" Chrom was silenced before he could express more concern for his friend. Stepping back, Saber's sword was stabbed clean through Chrom's chest, the knight holding the blade where it had entered him. Saber snapped back to reality when he realized this, stepping back in shock. Something like this wasn't post to happen. This wasn't where either of them were post to lose their lives. But... "Hey," Chrom started saying, grabbing Saber's attention, "This isn't... isn't your fault... Promise me... You'll escape from here and protect her... now please... go." Chrom's body then fell to the floor before another word could be said, leaving Saber alone. In his head, a dark laugh echoed out.

-{Prologue: A New History}-

[Yu]

'What... What was that?' I thought, staring off into darkness, feeling a warm breeze. 'Was that... a dream? I don't understand.' Nothing was making sense, just who was he facing? Who was he with? What kind of ending was that? Before he could wonder any more, he heard two voices coming from right above him.

"Chrom, we have to do SOMETHING," One voice said. It was young, feminine, caring. The opposite of the voice he heard in his dreams. The other however... "What do you propose we do?" The other was more masculine, somewhat serious, but also concerning and weirdly familiar. 'It's the same voice... as in the dream...' Slowly, my eyes began to open, spotting the two people that hovered over me. It was hard to pick them out, their outfits and the like and their features, but slowly my sight adjusted to the intake of light. "I... I don't know!" The female said before looked down at me, surprised as she saw my opening eyes. The male saw this, looking down at me with a smile. "I see you're awake now," the male greeted. "Hey there!" The female giggled. "Y'know," The male started to say, holding a hand out to me, "There's better places to take a nap than on the ground."

I reached my hand out to him, but hesitated slightly at the sight of an insignia on the back of my hand. It was purple with wings, eyes being the feathers, layered over top of a crimson X styled like flames. "R-Right... Thank you," I thanked, finally taking his hand after a half-second. Using his grip, I helped myself up. It was then that I finally took in their features. The female was a short young woman with blonde pigtails, dressed in a yellow dress similar to a maid's dress. The male was the same blue-haired male from his dream, dressed in a dark blue shirt that was missing the right sleeve, a white cape with matching pauldron on his left shoulder, white straps going across his chest. On his side was a golden sword sheathed and in his free hand was a silver sword with a crimson red hilt, styled like fire with a gold emblem.

"Are you alright?" The blue-haired male said, concerned. "I-I think so. I'm... unsure Chrom," the awakened person spoke. He was a brown haired male with crimson eyes, dressed in a black shirt with a red cloak draped over his right shoulder and arm. On his left hip was a small sheath, being black with silver details. Hooked onto the sheath was a small red book with the image of a dragon on the cover. "Then how do you know who I am?" The blue-haired male, Chrom, asked. "I... I don't know. It just came to me just now. I don't know how," the brown-haired male told him. "Well, could you tell us your name then? And why were you here?" Chrom asked. "My name? Well it's... That's strange," the male muttered. "You can't remember your own name?" Chrom asked, hearing the doubt in the male's voice. "I... I don't know. All that comes to me is a blank. I'm sorry," the male explained.

"Ah! I heard of this before! Amnesia!" The girl said, grabbing their attention. A more bulky male with brown hair dressed in blue armor with silver trim leading a horse on a lead walked up to them just then. "It's called a load of pegasus dung," he said, unconvinced of the male's doubt, "We're to believe you remember milord's name, but not your own?" "I'm afraid so. I really can't recall anything," the amnesic male tried reasoning. "But what if it is true, Frederick?" Chrom asked, looking back at the armored male, "We can't just leave him here, alone and confused. What sort of Shepherds would we be then?" Federick glanced at the ground for a moment before looking back at Chrom. "Just the same, milord. It's just that I emphasize caution. 'Twould not do to let a wolf into our flock," He expressed concern.

Nodding, Chrom then decided, "Right then, we'll take him back to town and sort this out there." Chrom then turned away, heading down towards a trail. "N-Now wait just a moment please. Don't I have a say in this?" The male asked. Chrom glanced back with a smile, saying, "Don't worry. Once we're back in town, I promise we'll hear all you have to say." Sighing, the male followed after Chrom with Federick and the female in front of him. It was then that his eyes drifted to the other sword in Chrom's hand. "Ah, that sword..." He muttered. This piqued Chrom's interest. "This thing?" He asked, holding up the silver sword, "We found it near your sleeping body. We assumed it was yours." Chrom then handed it off to him. The male held it in his hands, looking it over as he grazed his fingertips across the blade.

"So... where is it that we're going?" He asked, glancing from the blade to Chrom for a moment. "Southtown. It's there that we'll decide if you're an enemy of Ylisse or not," Chrom answered, confusing the male. "Ylisse? Is that where we are?" he questioned, getting a laugh out of Federick. "You've never heard of the halidom? Ha! Someone pay this actor. He plays quite the fool. The raised eyebrow is especially convincing..." Federick said, still not buying the truth. Chrom sighed, wishing Federick wouldn't be so wary, "Federick, please." He then turned to the male and began to explain things, "This land is known as the Halidom of Ylisse. Our ruler, Emmeryn, is called the exalt. With that, I believe proper introductions are in order." They stopped for a moment so they could all face the amnesiatic. "My name is Chrom, though you seem to already know that," Chrom introduced, "THe delicate one here is my little sister, Lissa." He motioned to the girl who crossed her arms, huffing. "I am NOT delicate! ...Hmph!" She turned to the male, saying, "Please ignore my brother. He can be thick headed sometimes, but be lucky the Shepherds found you. Brigands would've given you a rude awakening!" This brought another question to his mind. "Shepherds? You guys tend sheep? ...In full armor?" He said, sharing a glance in Federick's direction.

"Well, it's a dangerous job. Just ask Frederick the Wary here," Chrom joked a little, motioning to Federick. "A title I shall wear with pride. Gods forbid one of us keeps an appropriate level of caution," Federick said, sharing a stare with the male, "I have every wish to trust you, stranger, but my station mandates otherwise." The male nodded, understanding. "I fully understand. I wouldn't do any less if I was in your position. As for me, though... My name is Yu... I just remembered that weirdly enough. At least that's one mystery solved," the male introduced. "Yu? Is that foreign?" Chrom said, confused. "I don't know. But as for this sword, I recall that it's the Kaenken Rekka, a legendary sword blessed with the power of fire," Yu explained, looking the blade over once more before sheathing it at his side. "Kaenken... Rekka..." Chrom muttered, looking at it, "It's not a blade I'm familiar with. But we can discuss more later. We're almost to the town. Once we-" Chrom was silenced when he turned around, seeing a blazing fire that Lissa took the liberty of pointing out. "Chrom, look! The town!"

The town they were heading to was set ablaze, burning as screams of fright and cries of joy came from the village. "Damn it! The town is ablaze! Those blasted brigands, no doubt," Chrom said before turning back towards the others, "Frederick, Lissa! Quickly!" Before they ran off though, Frederick motioned to Yu, "What about him?" "Yu, can you fight?" Chrom asked, looking serious. Yu was taken back slightly, being asked to fight. "I... I don't know if I can... but I'm not going to let innocents be put in harm's way!" Yu said, holding a hand over his chest. "Very well then, let's go already!" The group charged towards the town with Federick climbing onto the back of his horse. When they arrived, sure enough, bandits and thieves of all kinds were pilfering the village. The leader, a somewhat chubby man with red painted marking and poorly made armor of wood and an animal pelt, laughed aloud as he shouted to those lower than him, "Get to it, lads! Grab anything shiny, and put the rest to the torch! We gots an example to set for these Ylisseans types!" A lone woman laid on the ground as she tried to shuffle away from one of the grunts, "S-Stay away from me! Please! Someone! HEEEEEELP!" Before the grunt could bring down their blade, Chrom appeared, intercepting it with his. "You bandits! You won't be bothering anyone else ever again after today!" Chrom said, forcing the grunt back before slashed him down.

As Federick charged in another direction with Lissa following him, both aiming to save and heal who they could, Yu charged towards the leader, drawing the Rekka. The leader, Garrick, blocked the sword with his axe. "Here, sheepy sheepy!" Garrick taunted, "Come to the slaughter!" Garrick then let out a laugh as he deflected Yu's blade away. Surprised, Yu quickly went on a shaky defensive, backing pushed back as he blocked various strikes from Garrick. "If you think such a petty defense could save you, then think again!" Garrick shouted, catching the Rekka under the hook of his axe blade, forcing the sword out of Yu's hand and across the field. "Now that that's out of the way," Garrick said before slashing at Yu, who put his arms up in defense. He bit his lip as the axe's blade cut into his skin, opening rather shallow, but still painful wounds. Garrick continued to do so, even as Yu slowly stumbled backwards with his arms lowering which caused fresh cuts in his skin and clothing.

Yu was sent falling backwards by a powerful swing, rolling across the ground. "Yu!" Lissa shouted, running over. Getting down on her knees, she used her staff to heal what she could, giving Yu just enough strength to begin to get up. "Don't you hero types ever learn to stand down? Maybe I should just kill ya. Could even take that pretty lady behind you afterwards," Garrick said, letting out a laugh."I won't let you... do this to innocent... people!" Yu said, getting up on a knee. Suddenly, a glow came from his side. Reaching over to the sheath that was on his side, he removed the small red book from it, looking at it.

Brave Dragon!

"A tome?" Chrom questioned, looking at Yu after striking a thief down. Yu lifted the cover, revealing text on the inside of the cover and another image of a dragon. Text became words that echoed from the book.

Katsute Subete wa Horobosu Hodo no Idaina Chikara wo Tenishita Shinjuu ga Ita

There Once Was a Mythical Beast With The Ability to Destroy Anything in Their Path

From the book, a large crimson red dragon appeared, encircling Yu. "A D-Dragon!?" Garrick said, shocked. "What manner of sorcery is this?" Federick said, shocked. "What in the?" Chrom said, staring at Yu and the dragon. "Woah!" Lissa gasped, seeing it up close. Yu stood up, looking at the dragon face to face. It seemed so familiar, but he couldn't recall. The dragon let out a snort of fire, said fire encircling his waist, forming a device of sorts. Yu looked at it, surprised at first, but something just seemed to click as he realized how familiar it was. The dragon then flew over to the Rekka, picking up the sword in its mouth before carrying it over. He grabbed the sword from the dragon and sheathed it in the front of the driver before closing the book and inserting it into the left-most slot. A melody began to play, followed by a larger version of the book appearing behind him. Yu gripped the handle of the sword before taking a deep breath, drawing the sword right after.

Rekka Battou!

"Henshin!" Yu shouted, the sword lighting ablaze with fire. He slashed in a X formation, creating a burning slash then raced towards Garrick. The barbarian raised his arms in defense, scared. He was then knocked back, gaining scorch marks on his bracers. The dragon encircled around Yu, melding into burning armor before being snuffed out, the burning X coming back to form a visor on his face.

Brave Dragon~! Rekka Issatsu! Yuuki no Ryuu to Kaenken Rekka ga majiwaru toki, Shinku no tsurugi ga aku wo tsuranuku!

Brave Dragon! One Rekka Book! When the Dragon of Valor and Kaenken Rekka meet, The Crimson Sword shall pierce all that is evil!

Yu looked at his hands and his sword, surprised by the new armor. "This armor... This power... It feels... familiar," He said, tightening his grip on his sword. "J-Just who are you!?" Garrick shouted, pointing his axe at Yu. Saber looked at his blade before looking towards Garrick. "Saber," he said, resting his sword on his shoulder, "Kamen Rider Saber." "Kamen... Rider...?" The other's questioned. Saber then began to walk towards Garrick, who still stood there, scared. "W-We'll what are you idiots waiting for!? Get him!" Garrick shouted, pointing at Saber. The grunts, equally scared, rushed to their commander's order. One swung their blade at Saber, who sidestepped the blade before striking back. Fire engulfed his blade when he brought it down onto the Mymidon's, melting through the other blade. This caused the ruffian to look at what was now just a handle, guard, and one third of a blade. He gulped before dropping the sword, making a run for it.

"Sorry Captain, but save yourself!" The grunt shouted. "W-Wha!? C-Come back here you scaredy cat!" Garrick shouted. The other barbarian came charging in at Saber from behind, having ran past Chrom. "Saber, behind you!" Chrom shouted, warning Saber. When the barbarian swung his axe, aiming to chop off his arm at the shoulder. Saber brought his sword up onto his shoulder, catching the axe's blade with the Rekka's. With a swing, he knocked the axe away before turning around, doing a sideways slash towards the barbarian, who tried using the handle of his axe to block it only to have part of it chopped off. Still eager, right after being scared, to prove himself to his captain, let out a shout and tried to overhead slash at Saber. The rider blocked the attack with the width of his sword. Forcing the axe back, Saber began slashing at the barbarian, tearing through his armor with little effort. He left very shallow cuts, not deep enough to bleed or to leave a scar. However, the force behind the swings were enough to make the barbarian fall backwards onto the ground.

"Leave. I don't wish to kill you," Saber told the barbarian who began to feel where Saber had cut him. Knowing that Saber was close to ending his life multiple times spooked him enough to get up and run. Saber then looked at the mage in the barbaric group, sharing a stare. This alone was enough to scare off the wind-based mage. All that was left was Garrick, who was displeased about the grunts he had dragged with him for this. "W-Well come on! I'm not scared!" Saber trapped the cover of the book in his driver, causing fire to engulf his right side. The dragon that was on his shoulder then emerged, staring Garrick down.

Brave Dragon!

Garrick then passed out where he stood upon seeing the dragon reappear before him. Saber scoffed at this before closing the book in his driver, removing it. Both his armor, driver, and the dragon with him vanished like flames being snuffed out as the others ran up to him. "That's the end of that," Yu said, returning his sword to the sheath on his side. "Lucky for the town we were close by," Lissa said, smiling at Yu as he turned around, "But wow, yu! You were so cool! Wielding a sword and being able to summon a dragon! Just what kind of sorcery can you do!?" "I don't think any of that was magic. It was just kind of, instinct, I guess," Yu chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. "Well, you're certainly no helpless victim, that much is sure," Chrom said, sheathing his sword. "Indeed. Perhaps your, memory, finally has an explanation for how you came here?" Federick asked. "I understand your skepticism, Sir Frederick, but I still don't have an explanation for any of this. Like I said, it was just instinct, like muscle memory," Yu explained, glancing at the book in his hand, "But please be assured that I have shared all that I know."

"You've fought to save Ylissean lives. In my heart, that's enough to trust you," Chrom said, holding a hand over his chest. "And your mind, milord? Will you not heed its counsel as well?" Federick the wary asked Chrom, showing his worry just as he had been. Chrom couldn't help but shake his head and chuckle, saying, "Federick, the Shepherds could use someone with Yu's talents. We've brigands and unruly neighbors, all looking to bloody our soil. Would you really have us lose someone as skilled as him?" Federick glanced off to the side. Sure, he didn't believe the swordsman exactly, but he couldn't deny that he could hold his own. "Besides, I believe his story, as odd as it might be," Chrom said. "Th-Thank you, Chrom," Yu said, bowing slightly. "So, how about it? Will you join us?" Chrom asked, holding his hand out. Yu wasted no second in shaking Chrom's hand, "I would be honored."

They then went around, helping who they could while they tried to snuff out the fires. When everything seemed calm, they left the two Brigands, Garrick the leader and the grunt that Chrom had taken out, tied up, reading to be hauled away and left someone as punishment after being disarmed of any and all weapons. "Milord, did you notice? The Brigands spoke with a Plegian accent," Federick said after finishing up tying up the incapacitated enemies. "Plegian? What's that?" Yu asked, looking between Federick and Chrom. Chrom sighed before explaining, "Plegia is Ylisse's westerly neighbor. They send small bands into our territory, hoping to instigate a war." Lissa pouted as she crossed her arms, saying, "And it's the poor townsfolk who suffer! Totally innocent, and totally helpless..." Federick laid a reassuring hand on Lissa's shoulder, telling her, "They do have us, milady; Shepherds to protect the sheep. Do not be swept up in your anger. It will cloud your judgment." "I know, I know..." Lissa said, having been told that by the knight before, "Don't worry. I'll get used to all this."

A villager then walked up to them. "Milord, please! You must stay the night!" The villager said, obviously scared the Brigands would come back. "A most generous offer, sir and no doubt your hospitality would be grand..." Federick started to say as Lissa began to tell the villager what she wanted to eat. "Dark meat only for me, medium well, and no salt in the soup. I simply-" "But I'm afraid we must hurry back to Ylisstol." This shocked Lissa who looked at Frederick in surprise, "Wha!? What do you mean we're not staying!?" This made Yu chuckle at the interaction. "But, Frederick, it's nearly dark!" Lissa tried to convince the wary knight, but it was apparent that he was unwavering in his decision. "When night falls, we'll camp," Federick explained, "Eat off the land, make our bed of twigs and the like... I believe you mentioned you would be "Getting used to this"?" Lissa puffed her cheeks, crossing her arms, "You know, Federick, sometimes I hate you." "You're quite the stern lieutenant," Yu commented, putting a hand on his hip. "Yeah, well, Stern, is one name for it. I can think of a few others!" A still irritated Lissa said, annoyed. "Federick only really smiles when he's about to bring down the axe," Chrom explained, chuckling a little.

"Ah, noted," Yu nervously chuckled, thinking of a few ways that could be interpreted. Federick then cleared his throat, getting their attention, before saying, "You do realize I AM still present?" "Oh, we realize," Chrom said, putting a hand on his hip. Yu one again chuckled. He was gonna enjoy being in their company for a while. Federick sighed, ignoring the small urge to smile, "Milord remains as amusing as ever. Now then, shall we be going?" "All right, all right. The capital isn't far so let's hurry so Federick can cook the bear meat he so joyously wants to have," Chrom said as he and the others began to walk away. "Yeah, le- Wait!" Yu stopped, looking at them in shock. "Bear meat!?" Yu said, shocked as he ran after them. The screen then slowly faded to black as it turned to the sky.
