Peaceful and quite air was quite common in the sage village. The morning was early and met with the fog that covered the whole village from head to toe. The only thing you were excited for was too see Conrad off.

His sister Anthiese is alive and he plans to set out and find her, protect her like an older brother is suppose too. But you were his old-time friend in the village since he came here.

You came his window and knocked on the glass, "Conrad, wake up!"

Conrad jerked awake and yawned upon awaking. The cute thing about him was his bed hair. His copper hair stood up in small spikes and curled light along the edges.

"(y/n)... the morning bird doesn't catch the worm... you do..."

You smiled and climbed through his window, "I just wanted to talk to you before you set off. I know you might not be back. Maybe not forever... but it's the thought that counts."

Conrad gave a nervous smile, "Yes. Every second counts with every breath."

"Conrad, are you alright? You seem jittery."

He sighed and looked at the clothes he picked out for the long journey. Pure white, but he was worried about his hair the most. "What if I fail my sister and can't help her? What if she recognizes me? I can't let that happen for the sages sake."

You pierced your lips in a thin line. He had a point, and since the Duma Fateful are out there they could use Conrad as bait. No matter how strong Conrad was, he's just one man alone.

That's when it came too you as you fished it out of your bag, "I have just the thing. I don't know if this will help but it might help your identity."

Conrad watched as you pulled out a headgear. It wasn't sort of a mask, but it covered the top half of the mask and left the bottom area exposed.

He took it and put it on, feeling mysterious and intriguing on the inside. "How do I look?"

"Not bad. But if you want to pull off the look then give yourself a tougher exterior. No offense, but your meek and gentle nature would ruin the act."

Conrad felt a thorn burry in his heart, but he quickly let it pass as he let the comment slide. He coughed and grabbed his lance next to him. "Fear not," he spoke in a deeper, almost mysterious, voice. "I will rid the Duma Fateful and return my sister as the rightful ruler of Zofia."

You clapped, "Excellent job. Couldn't even tell it was you."

Conrad laughed and took off the mask, his light scarlet eyes softening at the sight of you. "Thank you, (y/n). I must be going."

You swallowed the lump in your throat and nodded. You let Conrad gear up as you gently fed and washes his horse for him. Everyone was saying goodbye as you waited at the gate, tears slowly rolling down your face. When Conrad came towards the gate he jumped off his horse and hugged you.

"I promise I will come back. Even if I die, my soul will watch over you."

You giggled and swipe your snot off, "You better, or else."

Conrad smiled and gently kisses your forehead, "Promise me you won't do anything stupid while I'm gone. Especially challenging the Duma Fateful."

You huffed angrily, "I'm a decent enough mage in staring."

Conrad smiled before putting his mask on, saddling onto his horse, "I bid every one of you good health! Take care! I promise to return with my sister and crown her as the rightful heir!"

Everyone cheered him off as you gripped the sides of your cotton dress. You worried for his health and safety, but this is Conrad.

A dork who is powerfulenough to safe himself and anyone he loves
