It was the same time and thing again to happen. Yarne's loving season. Well you would have thought mating season but since he doesn't have one yet it's just loving season, a season where he tries to find a good mate for him and to... repopulate his species.

For some odd reason he would always be around you when this season came. This still confused you, what would Yarne want to have with you? All you did was put your nose in a book and wouldn't come out of it until hours on end or Chrom would make you stop reading.

The bell rang signaling noon had come and it was lunch time. The whole army was filling into the mess hall tent as you when inside to sit down, until something soft and fluffy touched your arm and made you stop dead in tracks.

"O-Oh sorry (y/n)! I didn't mean to bump into you!" Yarne said with a small laugh.

You both were the last ones to enter through the entrance, while everyone else was getting their food.

"It's fine... but your fur is so soft..." You said petting his ear.

"AHAHA S-STOP IT THAT T-TICKLES!!!" Yarne burst out laughing as everyone else stopped what they were doing and looked at you both.

Heat ran into your cheeks as you grabbed his arm and pulled him outside of the mess hall tent. "S-Sorry about that Yarne... I couldn't stop petting them."

"I-It's alright... I have something I wanted to tell you anyways."

"Oh okay, what is it?"

"Y-You see... it's about that season again..."

"Oh no... You didn't find anyone did you?"

"Actually I did, I just need help telling it too them."

"Well who is it first?"

"T-That's the problem..." He said as his fury cheek turned bright red, "I just don't k-know how to say it..."

"But I'm here to help you Yarne. Just tell me who it is and I'll tell it to them for myself. I want you to find someone to live with after the war Yarne."

"You do? Me? Even though I cower at the end of the battle field?"

"Well I understand you doing that to not get yourself killed and to protect your species. Now, tell me who it is."

"I-it's... y-you... (y/n)..."

"Oh... OH!" You said realizing what he said, "M-me? Really?"

"W-Well I always liked you in the beginning... but I thought you didn't really like me. No one in this army or any villages wanted to be my mate... so I thought of you..."

"Oh Yarne... truth to be told you've grown on me. So I have feelings for you too."

"Wha?! REALLY?!"

"Yep!"

"YES! FINALLY!" He said as he tackled hugged you to the ground, blushing and chuckling. "I love you! Let's repopulate my species! Sorry was that awkward?"

Whispers could be heard in the mess hall tent as you blushed and realized they had just heard the conversion going on. It was a little too quiet inside now that you thought about it...

"Y-Yes it was Yarne! Everyone heard us!"

"S-Sorry... but I still love you! Even if everyone heard all that!"
